Lie Ribeiro recites a poem she wrote to honor the International Autism Day, showing sensibility and wisdom of this writer, mum of Gabriel Gustavo, her 25-year-old autistic son.

No, the world is not always blue,

but many times,
it depends on the way we see it.

Do you remember, when in days
of torrential rains,

we pray for the sky to become clear again

and, suddenly, a rainbow
is painted in the sky

and we are delighted?

It is a God's miracle.

No, it is not always flowers
what we see in our garden,

but hope, where there is just
the barren land of disaffection.

On this special day for autism,
the world does not stop, It goes on,

through its stony path.

But we will search for the pearl,

in that tight closed shell
which is autism.

Let's put together our dreams,
to win this nightmare of neglect.

Let's put on our steps,
too tired of walking,

searching you, in some dark place.

We are afraid, we can't give up.

Many times, we bend.
But we cannot break.

Our heart cracks in pain.

A day goes, life goes on,

but the fight is never in vain.

Day after day,
bringing awareness to humanity,

that you are not shadows, you are people,

safe from evil, by autism.
