How was our recent livestream concert?

Eh, you mean the one in August?

That was basically the first time in my life I had felt so nervous.

I felt numb.

I mean, even though we've played several concerts and have done this for several years,

the tension of that moment where I started off a song with me singing and playing guitar...

Probably nothing else can take the place of that.

I mean, if I had messed up there, the entire show would be over.

I didn't think that much about it right before.

Also, you need to feel that pressure when you perform.

But looking at the footage, we all look so calm!

I think that people who don't feel nervous are amazing.

Of course we feel like that for concerts,

but also for stuff like interviews and recording comments for TV shows.

I think that it makes things a little easier by saying you're not good at something, or if you're nervous.

You go, "I'm totally fine" and then try to do it,

so that can make things tough at times.

In particular, HARU plays a central role since she speaks during our concerts.

In contrast, I act as support during MCs.

-There's such a thing as overthinking things.

When I think about how what I say could potentially change someone's life,

that has its own feeling of tension.

It's a good feeling of tension, though.

You shouldn't be speaking in front of others.

When you live with those feelings,

The MCs we do for solo concerts and the MCs we do for festivals,

they completely differ.

Like...how can I put it?

Solo concerts...since the attendees are people who have come to see us specifically,

we can imagine what we could say.

However, with festivals,

they put you more on edge.

Like, "We're going to get you to like us!"

During those times,

we wonder what we should say to get people to understand us in a short amount of time.

I think we're a difficult type of band to understand when it comes to festivals.

Like...how should I put it...

-We're not the typical kind of band you see at festivals?

We don't know what people are thinking of us,

-I feel that we don't belong anywhere.

I think there are many people in the audience who think that,

especially those seeing us for the first time.

For those who don't really know who we are

and happen to learn about us while they're there and decide to watch us,

we wonder how we should appear to them.

we've always been searching for the right way

-to structure an MC for those people.

We've been thinking recently that it'd be great if we could let people know exactly who we are via the exact words we say.

Occasionally, when we play year-end festivals,

you're battling a full-blown cold.

-That was only last year!
-Didn't that happen two years ago too?

It was like she could barely get her singing across,

and when we thought that if she spoke during the MCs then her voice might give out before the end of our set,

For some reason it was decided that I'd do the MC!

I have no idea why.

But wasn't it like, "We're going to have someone stand in front"?

We didn't really decide that.

We didn't have a large dressing room but a tiny front room next to the stage,

and when we got there,

I was suddenly told, "You'll be doing the MC today..."

I didn't want to make HARU feel anxious,

so I was like, "Okay! I'll speak."

I was like, I've done this plenty; I'll be fine.

-It's because MCs are so important that they're difficult to do.
-They are.

Even if you decide to be nuanced about it,

-there are times when it turns out completely different.
-I totally get that.

When you're speaking on stage,

aren't there times when you're like, "Wait, why am I taking up this persona?"

-I have no idea.

But days when you're like, "Today was great" do occasionally happen.

That's true.

Because you experience it point by point,

you're like, "That's exactly it!"

You do it for those moments.

I wonder how it'll be like in the future.

We've always talked about that.

It's like, "How many times have we talked about that today?"

-I'm looking forward to it.

During the time we would have had our world tour,

wasn't there a period where we didn't see each other?

We were at our homes the entire time we didn't see each other!

What did you do at home?

At home,

I did stuff like watching Korean dramas.

What about recently? What have you been doing at home recently?

-I've been watching those kinds of dramas.
-What are you watching?

For Korean dramas,

I'm watching "Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth."

Park Seo-joon, who is the lead in "Itaewon Class," is also the lead in that series.

It's a Korean historical drama about a princess that lived 1500 years ago.

She doesn't surround herself with handsome servants,

but she gets toughened up by them.

-It's basically eye candy.
