Insurance for Grad Students

My name is Sarah Razavi Nobles.

I'm one of the two insurance coordinators
for the Graduate School and for International

Programs.

My responsibilities are to enroll students
with assistantships in Graduate Insurance

and also those who are without assistantships
who want to optionally enroll.

Also, all international students are automatically
enrolled in the insurance so that is my responsibility

as well.

Also, if there are any issues arise such as
claims not being paid or you feel like you

paid too much for a visit you can bring those
issues to me and we can get those taken care

of for you.

My office is located in 223 Foy Hall so that
is in the cubicles that are right next to

the front desk when you walk in on the second
floor.

prefer people to email me.

We try to get back to you guys on those emails
within a day so for enrollment purposes as

I stated before all students with assistantships
are automatically enrolled.

If you would like to waive out of that for
one reason or the other - most of the reason

is that your still on your parents insurance
- you can do that online now so you would

go through AU Access under My Academics there
would be a Self Service checkbox so you would

click on that and all the way at the bottom
the last link is the Graduate Student Insurance

Waiver.

You would need to complete that form, upload
a picture of your insurance card and that

would automatically send to us and we will
try to get those processed within a couple

of business days.

Those do need to be renewed every year so
that is for if you're wanting to get out of

the insurance, now if you're wanting to opt-in
- as I said automatically enrolled for students

with assistantships and those who are international
and those who are neither of those do have

the option to enroll with our office.
