ACIM Review Lessons Part One Lessons 1-4

  • 0:27 - 0:28
    Ok
  • 0:28 - 0:29
    First review
  • 0:31 - 0:35
    Nothing I see means anything!
  • 0:37 - 0:38
    Happy?
  • 0:38 - 0:39
    [Laugh]
  • 0:39 - 0:41
    Are you happy that nothing
  • 0:41 - 0:43
    that you see means anything?
  • 0:43 - 0:46
    How that's feel?
  • 0:46 - 0:48
Is that disturb you at all?
  • 0:50 - 0:52
    The reason this is so,
  • 0:52 - 0:53
    is that I see nothing!
  • 0:53 - 0:56
    And nothing has no meaning.
  • 0:56 - 1:00
    Nothing has no meaning.
  • 1:05 - 1:08
It is necessary that I recognize this,
  • 1:08 - 1:11
    not optional,
  • 1:11 - 1:14
    necessary,
  • 1:15 - 1:19
that I am learned to see.
  • 1:20 - 1:24
    Seeing nothing is not seeing.
  • 1:26 - 1:28
What I think I see now, is
  • 1:28 - 1:31
    taking place of vision.
  • 1:31 - 1:33
I must letting go by realizing
  • 1:33 - 1:35
    that it has no meaning,
  • 1:35 - 1:39
so that vision may take its place.
  • 1:39 - 1:41
Vision is that that comes to you from
  • 1:41 - 1:43
    Spirit.
  • 1:43 - 1:46
Spirit is that, that is outside of time and space.
  • 1:46 - 1:50
So, vision has a value that
  • 1:50 - 1:54
perceiving does not and can never have.
  • 1:59 - 2:01
    Yes?
  • 2:01 - 2:02
    Because Spirit is in touch
  • 2:02 - 2:05
    with Reality,
  • 2:05 - 2:07
    has nothing to do with
  • 2:07 - 2:08
    the filtering of
  • 2:08 - 2:12
    your senses in interpretation
  • 2:12 - 2:16
    of a brain.
  • 2:16 - 2:18
    Two,
  • 2:18 - 2:21
    Second review,
  • 2:21 - 2:22
I have given what I see
  • 2:22 - 2:26
all the meaning that it has for me.
  • 2:27 - 2:29
So, I has no meaning, but whatever
  • 2:29 - 2:31
the meaning I think it has,
  • 2:31 - 2:33
I have given it that meaning.
  • 2:33 - 2:37
    Is that right?
  • 2:38 - 2:39
    I can see with
  • 2:39 - 2:41
    this is going.
  • 2:41 - 2:42
    How could you be happy
  • 2:42 - 2:45
    with all that?
  • 2:45 - 2:48
I have judged everything I look upon
  • 2:48 - 2:52
and it is this and only this I see.
  • 2:52 - 2:56
I only see what I judge.
  • 2:56 - 3:00
    This is not vision,
  • 3:00 - 3:04
it is merely an illusion of Reality.
  • 3:04 - 3:06
Because my judgments have been made
  • 3:06 - 3:08
    quite apart from Reality.
  • 3:08 - 3:10
Because in Reality, you don't need
  • 3:10 - 3:12
    to make any judgments.
  • 3:12 - 3:14
    Reality is one thing,
  • 3:14 - 3:16
    what would judge what
  • 3:16 - 3:18
    be impossible.
  • 3:18 - 3:20
It's only in duality that judgments
  • 3:20 - 3:22
    are made possible.
  • 3:22 - 3:25
And that's why, it's an illusion.
  • 3:25 - 3:26
    I am willing to recognize
  • 3:26 - 3:29
the lack of validity in my judgments.
  • 3:29 - 3:32
    Because I want to see.
  • 3:32 - 3:35
    That's sounds like a decoration.
  • 3:35 - 3:36
    I'm beginning to hear that's
  • 3:36 - 3:37
    what I don't like
  • 3:37 - 3:38
    what I've been seeing
  • 3:38 - 3:40
and doing, and I am declaring
  • 3:40 - 3:41
    I attempt to change.
  • 3:41 - 3:43
    Right?
  • 3:43 - 3:45
    My judgments have heart me
  • 3:45 - 3:46
and I do not want to see
  • 3:46 - 3:49
    according to them.
  • 3:49 - 3:52
    I am not a masochist.
  • 3:52 - 3:54
    I am interested in happiness.
  • 3:54 - 3:58
And I prefer the eternal one.
  • 3:58 - 3:59
Not the one that comes and goes,
  • 3:59 - 4:03
    depending on circumstances.
  • 4:03 - 4:04
    Three,
  • 4:04 - 4:05
    I do not understand,
  • 4:05 - 4:07
    anything I see.
  • 4:07 - 4:08
    How can you understand
  • 4:08 - 4:09
    what anything that
  • 4:09 - 4:13
    does not have any meaning?
  • 4:13 - 4:15
    That doesn't have meaning,
  • 4:15 - 4:17
    how could you understand it?
  • 4:17 - 4:18
    So, that's a Realization!
  • 4:18 - 4:20
    Isn't it?
  • 4:20 - 4:23
    I don't understand anything I see.
  • 4:23 - 4:25
    That's something that needs
  • 4:25 - 4:27
    to be realized.
  • 4:27 - 4:30
    Or it's just a concept.
  • 4:30 - 4:32
How can I understand what I see
  • 4:32 - 4:35
when I have judged it a mis.
  • 4:36 - 4:40
I haven't judged that as an illusion.
  • 4:40 - 4:42
I judged it to be reality.
  • 4:42 - 4:44
    I judged it a mis.
  • 4:44 - 4:46
What I see it is the projection
  • 4:46 - 4:47
    of my own errors of
  • 4:47 - 4:49
    thought.
  • 4:49 - 4:51
I do not understand what I see,
  • 4:51 - 4:52
    because it is not
  • 4:52 - 4:54
    understandable.
  • 4:54 - 4:57
There is no sense in trying to understand it.
  • 4:57 - 5:01
Wow, now that's a great sentence.
  • 5:01 - 5:03
    If you believe that,
  • 5:03 - 5:07
    wouldn't you stop?
  • 5:11 - 5:13
If you knew, it didn't have any meaning
  • 5:13 - 5:14
    wouldn't you try to stop,
  • 5:14 - 5:18
when you stop trying to understand lt?
  • 5:18 - 5:19
And you do something else with
  • 5:19 - 5:21
    your mind.
  • 5:21 - 5:22
    OK,
  • 5:22 - 5:24
that's the title of the book, isn't it?
  • 5:24 - 5:27
    There's an alternative.
  • 5:27 - 5:29
There is no sense in try to understand it
  • 5:29 - 5:33
but there is every reason to let it go
  • 5:33 - 5:35
and make real for what can be seen
  • 5:35 - 5:39
    and understood and loved.
  • 5:39 - 5:43
I can exchange what I see now
  • 5:43 - 5:47
for this merely by willing to do so.
  • 5:47 - 5:50
So, the only thing I asked of you
  • 5:50 - 5:51
    is to
  • 5:51 - 5:54
    be willing.
  • 5:54 - 5:56
I can exchange what I see now,
  • 5:56 - 5:58
    for this merely by
  • 5:58 - 6:01
    being willing to do so.
  • 6:01 - 6:03
Is not this a better choice
  • 6:03 - 6:06
that the one I made before?
  • 6:06 - 6:07
    See, what was the choice
  • 6:07 - 6:11
    I made before?
  • 6:11 - 6:12
    To see nothing
  • 6:12 - 6:16
    and give it a meaning.
  • 6:18 - 6:21
    In order to replace
  • 6:21 - 6:24
    Reality.
  • 6:24 - 6:26
    Four,
  • 6:26 - 6:30
These thoughts do not mean anything.
  • 6:32 - 6:35
    Which thoughts?
  • 6:35 - 6:39
    These thoughts!
  • 6:43 - 6:45
    Are you having thoughts?
  • 6:45 - 6:47
Those thoughts, so they don't have
  • 6:47 - 6:48
    any meaning.
  • 6:48 - 6:50
    Because you're not sharing them
  • 6:50 - 6:51
    with
  • 6:51 - 6:53
    your Creator,
  • 6:53 - 6:54
    who gives meaning
  • 6:54 - 6:57
    to everything.
  • 6:57 - 6:59
The thoughts of which I am aware
  • 6:59 - 7:00
    do not mean anything,
  • 7:00 - 7:02
    because I'm trying to think
  • 7:02 - 7:03
    without
  • 7:03 - 7:07
    God.
  • 7:08 - 7:09
    What I call my thoughts
  • 7:09 - 7:11
    are not my real thoughts.
  • 7:11 - 7:13
    My real thoughts are
  • 7:13 - 7:15
the thoughts I think with God.
  • 7:15 - 7:17
    I'm not aware of that
  • 7:17 - 7:18
    because when I have made
  • 7:18 - 7:22
my thoughts to take their place.
  • 7:23 - 7:25
    I am willing to recognize
  • 7:25 - 7:28
that my thoughts do not mean anything.
  • 7:28 - 7:30
    And to let them go.
  • 7:30 - 7:34
    Is that sound like willingness?
  • 7:34 - 7:36
I choose to have them be replace
  • 7:36 - 7:38
by what they were intended to
  • 7:38 - 7:39
    replace.
  • 7:39 - 7:42
    Is that sound like willingness?
  • 7:42 - 7:44
    My thoughts are meaningless
  • 7:44 - 7:46
but all creation lies in a thought
  • 7:46 - 7:49
    I think with God.
  • 7:49 - 7:52
    All creation
  • 7:52 - 7:56
lies in a thought I think with God.
  • 7:56 - 7:58
    That's sound big...
