During the last decade, Eric Whitacre became a composer noticed for its music for choir and its educational music. Some of its plays for choir became particularly popular within the vocal whole high school and university in America.
Its most famous work is the Virtual Choir, a digital project that combines thousands of user-submitted videos into a single stunning choral performance. This global choir transcends geography, class and background: it is a testament to the power of leadership and technology to foster creativity and connection, even in the most challenging circumstances.
Eric Whitacre began this project with first try in 2009 and a second one in 2010. The video “Lux Aurumque”, with a virtual choir of 185 voices of 12 countries was qualified as “musical experience even better than waited”, and was viewed more than 1 000 000 times during the first two months after release.
It’s second project of 2010 named “Sleep” 2.0 began in 2010 and the process of video download came to an end on 2011. 2 0531 individual videos were received from 584 countries, which represents a new world record for an online virtual choir.

Eric will speak about the rise of organic humanistic online communities, born through the Virtual Choir and the relationship this has to the creative process.
