[INTRO MUSIC]
-
AT&T has created the #FEELTHEMUSIC campaign,
a social project designed to help bring the
-
music world to the d/Deaf and hard of hearing
community. We listen to music in various ways
-
and this campaign helps us show that.
-
The ASL music video “Subway Serenade,”
which is of Walk The Moon’s “Different
-
Colours,” was directed by Jules Dameron
and features some of our Deaf friends, most
-
of who are part of the cast for this year’s
“Spring Awakening” on Broadway.
-
As I've mentioned before, the company involved
with this project is AT&T and this is how they're getting involved.
-
For the past five years, AT&T and the AT&T
foundation have given more than $22,000,000
-
supporting disability initiatives.
-
AT&T gave $100,000 to the American Association
of People with Disabilities Summer Internship
-
Program so college students and recent graduates
with disabilities could have an opportunity
-
to get some work experience in Washington, DC.
-
In 2012, AT&T created CATO (Corporate Accessibility
Technology Office) to promote accessibility
-
in their products and services.
-
In 2015, AT&T and NYU’s ABILITY lab launched
the Connect Ability Challenge, awarding more
-
than $100,000 to nine high-tech solutions
created by developers, engineers and makers
-
who wanted to enhance of lives of disabled
people at home, work, and during their downtime.
-
What's even more exciting about this video
is...
-
A lot of free stuff.
-
Okay, it's not a lot, a lot.
-
But the prizes are pretty extraordinary.
-
For my giveaway on this channel, one lucky
winner will receive a 16GB iPad Mini in Space
-
Grey with Retina display and WiFi.
-
To go with that, you will get an Incognito
black case.
-
(Don't drop your iPad and crack it, kids.)
-
And last but not least, an AT&T t-shirt.
-
All you have to do to enter this giveaway
is leave a comment down below in the comment box and leave
-
a song you would like to see Jules Dameron make
an ASL music video for in the future.
-
No song, no entry.
-
This giveaway will be open for two weeks.
-
So, on November 5th, the giveaway will be
over and I will make a video announcing the
-
winner shortly after.
-
Not only is there this giveaway, but AT&T
is hosting a much larger sweepstakes.

[SIGNED: GOOD LUCK]
-
A common misconception that hearing people
have about d/Deaf and hard of hearing people
-
is that we can’t or don’t listen to music.
-
This is far from the truth.
-
While there are a lot of us who don’t listen
to music, there are a lot of us who do, just
-
in various ways.
-
I grew up listening to classic rock as a kid
and other genres as I’ve grown up.
-
I’ve even gone to a couple of concerts in the
past.
-
If you look around the Internet, there are
d/Deaf and hard of hearing musicians, rappers,
-
singers.
-
A lot of us may not listen to music in the
“typical” way, but if you look around
-
the Internet, you’ll see ASL music videos.
-
I’m very glad that AT&T has created #FEELTHEMUSIC
because it’s a fun way of proving society
-
wrong.
-
Thank you to AT&T to contacting me and giving
me the opportunity to work with them.
-
Make sure you enter both giveaways when you're
finished watching this video.
-
And I will see you later. Bye.
