Family Connections is a 12-week program for families with a relative with borderline personality disorder. Under the auspices of The National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder (NEA-BPD), the program, coined "transforming", is available in various locations throughout the country as well as in Canada and Europe. Adapted to be available in more areas of the US, the course is also offered by teleconferencing. Called TeleConnections, the 12- week program provides the same curriculum material as Family Connections. The course is based on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), teaching family members the skills based on the work of Marsha Linehan.
