Let's talk about human trafficking. | Irene Hirzel | TEDxBern

Title:
Let's talk about human trafficking. | Irene Hirzel | TEDxBern
Description:

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Human trafficking is a subject that few acknowledge as a part of European society. In this talk, Irene Hirzel offers data on European countries and explains the factors that lead to this sad reality. With this information, citizens are more empowered to help create change for those abused.

Irene Hirzel is now project leader at COM, fighting against human trafficking of women and children, particularly in Eastern Europe and Nepal. She is also a member of the Swiss–Romanian group against human trafficking, led by the Federal Department of Justice and Police.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
