Lesson 26 - Babies, children and fathers - give a beef to a baby it will die - The Pioneer School

  • 0:01 - 0:04
    Welcome to this lesson 26
    in the "Pioneer School".
  • 0:04 - 0:06
I am really excited about this lesson
  • 0:06 - 0:10
where I am going to continue
a little where I was last time,
  • 0:10 - 0:15
but we are going to talk about
    the different levels.
  • 0:15 - 0:16
Some people are not born again
  • 0:16 - 0:18
and what they need is different
  • 0:18 - 0:21
from what born again believers need.
  • 0:21 - 0:25
And again, young men in the faith.
  • 0:25 - 0:28
    They need something different
    than born again believers.
  • 0:28 - 0:31
    And fathers, they need something
    totally different again.
  • 0:31 - 0:35
And we need to understand that
and if I look at the church today
  • 0:35 - 0:41
we are giving many places beef
    to babies.
  • 0:41 - 0:47
If you serve a beef to a baby, you can
be sure that that baby is going to die.
  • 0:47 - 0:50
Or we give milk to young man.
  • 0:50 - 0:54
Then you can be sure that
that young man is not going to grow
  • 0:54 - 0:57
and become a father by just
    drinking milk.
  • 0:57 - 1:01
And after a short time -
he will be maybe end up dying
  • 1:01 - 1:03
because he needs more than milk.
  • 1:03 - 1:07
He needs solid food to grow
    and to survive.
  • 1:07 - 1:11
And it's so important when we talk
    about making churches
  • 1:11 - 1:15
    or building churches,
    or building people,
  • 1:15 - 1:17
    growing people up,
    making disciples,
  • 1:17 - 1:19
    that we know that there
    are different levels.
  • 1:19 - 1:22
    We know where people are,
    so we can be effective
  • 1:22 - 1:26
    in discipling them, being effective
    in growing them up.
  • 1:26 - 1:29
And I think you'll love this teaching
where I am going to talk about this.
  • 1:29 - 1:30
    God bless you!
  • 1:44 - 1:48
    Hello everyone out there and
    welcome to this 26 lesson
  • 1:48 - 1:50
    on the "Pioneer School".
  • 1:50 - 1:53
I am really excited about what
    God is doing.
  • 1:53 - 1:57
God is revealing a lot of things
right now when it comes to church.
  • 1:58 - 2:01
We have seen a lot of people
getting kickstarted all over the world.
  • 2:01 - 2:03
We have seen a lot of people
    meeting God.
  • 2:03 - 2:06
    We have seen people repenting,
    getting baptized.
  • 2:06 - 2:09
People are learning to heal the sick,
    cast out demons.
  • 2:09 - 2:11
And we have seen God do amazing things.
  • 2:11 - 2:14
And it just keeps growing and growing
    and growing.
  • 2:15 - 2:17
    But there is more.
  • 2:17 - 2:20
    There is more to learn.
    There is more to do.
  • 2:20 - 2:23
Especially when it comes to church,
  • 2:23 - 2:27
when it comes to see what God's idea was
  • 2:27 - 2:31
when it comes to New Testament churches.
  • 2:31 - 2:34
And last time I've started to do
    a teaching about churches
  • 2:34 - 2:36
and I am going to continue this time
  • 2:36 - 2:39
and I am really excited about it because
  • 2:39 - 2:42
I've experienced a lot of revelations
    in this.
  • 2:42 - 2:45
There are things I have never seen
    so clear before
  • 2:45 - 2:48
and we are learning a lot of things.
  • 2:48 - 2:50
So, I am excited to share this with you.
  • 2:50 - 2:55
Last time we spoke a little about
    church as a family.
  • 2:55 - 2:57
    Church should be a family,
  • 2:57 - 2:59
    not an orphanage.
  • 2:59 - 3:04
And last time I spoke about the difference
between an orphanage and a family
  • 3:04 - 3:09
where in orphanage we have a few leaders
    and a lot of kids.
  • 3:09 - 3:15
Leaders who do the job and go home
    to their own kids afterwards.
  • 3:15 - 3:18
That is like the institutional church
    today
  • 3:18 - 3:21
    where we have priest coming
    and doing the job
  • 3:21 - 3:25
with a lot of people sitting
    and listening.
  • 3:25 - 3:28
    Then we have the family
  • 3:28 - 3:30
    where we have parents,
  • 3:30 - 3:34
    where parents are there
    to grow the kids.
  • 3:34 - 3:39
Parents are there to get kids
    and let kids grow up
  • 3:39 - 3:41
    and move from home.
  • 3:41 - 3:45
And I talked about that last time
where I also spoke about that -
  • 3:46 - 3:52
    - to become part of a family,
you need to be born into that family.
  • 3:52 - 3:57
To become part of the church
you really need to be born again.
  • 3:57 - 4:00
You need to have the same spirit,
    but also the same DNA,
  • 4:00 - 4:04
the same vision, the same idea.
  • 4:04 - 4:06
    Otherwise, you cannot experience
    the unity
  • 4:07 - 4:11
in a family that God wants us
    to experience.
  • 4:11 - 4:12
But I spoke about that last time.
  • 4:12 - 4:16
I spoke about that there are
    different families.
  • 4:16 - 4:18
    There are families without children,
  • 4:18 - 4:21
    there are families with children,
    with babies,
  • 4:21 - 4:24
there are families with bigger children
  • 4:24 - 4:26
    and there are grandparents.
  • 4:26 - 4:31
That is different. You cannot use
    the same method for everyone.
  • 4:31 - 4:38
You cannot use the same programme
    because every family is different.
  • 4:38 - 4:41
It depends on if there are babies
    or no babies,
  • 4:41 - 4:44
or small babies, or big kids, and so on.
  • 4:44 - 4:49
But all of that I spoke about last time.
  • 4:49 - 4:51
And if you have not seen the teaching
    from the last time,
  • 4:51 - 4:55
I encourage you to go in and see it.
  • 4:55 - 5:00
But church is about growing people.
  • 5:00 - 5:04
    Is about growing people,
    getting people born again
  • 5:04 - 5:10
    and then grow them up
    from being babies to children,
  • 5:10 - 5:14
    to fathers, or parents.
  • 5:14 - 5:17
Church is not about just having members.
  • 5:17 - 5:20
Church is not about gathering people.
  • 5:20 - 5:23
I've met many churches where they
    gather people,
  • 5:23 - 5:28
but the sad truth is that those people
    they gather
  • 5:28 - 5:31
after 10, 15 years in that church,
  • 5:31 - 5:34
    they are still babies,
  • 5:34 - 5:36
    spiritual babies.
  • 5:36 - 5:40
After 10, 15 years they still need
  • 5:40 - 5:44
other people to come and feed them.
  • 5:44 - 5:46
    And that is wrong!
  • 5:46 - 5:48
This is not what God called us to do.
  • 5:48 - 5:51
God called us to grow people
  • 5:51 - 5:54
    where they become mature.
  • 5:54 - 5:56
And we need to understand that.
  • 5:56 - 6:00
We need to understand the different
    levels people are on, also.
  • 6:00 - 6:04
Because if you take a big beef
  • 6:04 - 6:07
and give a big beef to a baby,
  • 6:07 - 6:10
    that baby will die.
  • 6:10 - 6:14
If you give milk to a grown-up,
  • 6:14 - 6:19
maybe that grown-up person can survive
on milk for a short time,
  • 6:19 - 6:23
but after some time that grown-up
    will also die,
  • 6:23 - 6:26
and that grown-up will not grow.
  • 6:26 - 6:30
    Babies need milk.
  • 6:30 - 6:33
    Grown-up people need beef.
  • 6:33 - 6:35
    They need solid food.
  • 6:35 - 6:38
And if we don't understand that,
  • 6:38 - 6:42
if we don't understand what level
    are fellowships on,
  • 6:42 - 6:46
if we don't understand what level
    people are on,
  • 6:46 - 6:50
then we will not be effective
    in growing people.
  • 6:50 - 6:55
    We will not be effective
    in doing churches, fellowships
  • 6:55 - 6:58
the way God wants us to do.
  • 6:58 - 7:01
So, I hope you are ready for this lesson
  • 7:01 - 7:05
where I am going to talk about
the different levels people are on,
  • 7:05 - 7:08
when it comes to not born again,
    when it comes to babies,
  • 7:08 - 7:11
when it comes to young ones
and when it comes to fathers.
  • 7:11 - 7:17
And then I will talk about this today and
then later we will put it all together.
  • 7:17 - 7:21
And remember, when I talk about
    churches and fellowships,
  • 7:21 - 7:25
as I've talked about in one of
    the other lessons,
  • 7:25 - 7:26
    it's very simple.
  • 7:27 - 7:32
Church is about loving God, loving your
    neighbors and making disciples.
  • 7:32 - 7:36
    Fellowships, churches -
    it's not about buildings,
  • 7:36 - 7:42
is not about staff, is not about
    programme, is not about budget.
  • 7:42 - 7:45
    You can have staff, programme,
    buildings, budget,
  • 7:45 - 7:49
    without having what is
    the New Testament church.
  • 7:49 - 7:52
You can have all of that without
    really loving God,
  • 7:52 - 7:55
    loving your neighbors
    and making disciples.
  • 7:56 - 7:57
So, I hope you are ready for that.
  • 7:57 - 7:58
    But I will pray.
  • 7:58 - 8:01
God, we thank You for what You are doing.
  • 8:01 - 8:02
We thank You for Your Holy Spirit
  • 8:02 - 8:06
and thank You for this truth we are
    reading in Your Word.
  • 8:06 - 8:08
Pray that You will help me
    to share this word
  • 8:08 - 8:11
and pray for everyone who is listening
    to this teaching
  • 8:11 - 8:13
that it will be a revelation for them,
  • 8:13 - 8:15
that You will open their eyes,
  • 8:15 - 8:18
You will help them to see the truth
  • 8:18 - 8:20
and this truth is going to set them free
  • 8:20 - 8:24
    and make them effective
    in growing people,
  • 8:24 - 8:27
make them effective in making disciples.
  • 8:27 - 8:31
    Come with Your Holy Spirit
and help us to understand this
  • 8:31 - 8:35
in the name of Jesus. Amen.
  • 8:35 - 8:39
So, I hope you are ready.
So, it was a little introduction.
  • 8:39 - 8:44
I will start to say that to become
part of the Kingdom of God,
  • 8:44 - 8:49
first, of course, a person needs
    to be born again.
  • 8:49 - 8:55
And I will start reading a verse here
    from John 1:12-13.
  • 9:09 - 9:15
So, all who believe Him, believe in Jesus,
    believe in His name,
  • 9:15 - 9:18
He gave the right to become
    children of God.
  • 9:33 - 9:38
Everyone is the creation of God,
but to become part of God's family,
  • 9:38 - 9:45
    to become children of God,
you need to be born again.
  • 9:45 - 9:49
    When do the discipleship start?
  • 9:50 - 9:53
    Real discipleship, somehow,
starts when people are born again.
  • 9:53 - 9:58
    Of course, discipleship starts
even before people are born again.
  • 9:58 - 10:03
    But to really come in
    and live this life
  • 10:03 - 10:05
    and really work with people
  • 10:05 - 10:07
and get them to grow up,
  • 10:07 - 10:11
they need to be born again.
  • 10:11 - 10:14
    You could somehow sit down
with people and share the gospel
  • 10:14 - 10:17
and do a kind of discipleship,
  • 10:17 - 10:20
but you have to understand that
when people are not born again,
  • 10:21 - 10:23
    they are still blind.
  • 10:23 - 10:27
    There are spiritual things
    they don't understand.
  • 10:27 - 10:31
    They cannot understand it
    with the carnal mind.
  • 10:31 - 10:34
    They are blind spiritually.
  • 10:34 - 10:35
    And 1 Corinthians...
  • 10:49 - 10:54
And Jesus Himself said that you
cannot see the Kingdom of God
  • 10:54 - 10:55
if you are not born again.
  • 10:55 - 10:59
So, the message of the cross,
    the spiritual things
  • 10:59 - 11:05
are foolishness for those who are
    not born again.
  • 11:05 - 11:06
And we need to understand that.
  • 11:06 - 11:10
    I still remember when
    before I was born again,
  • 11:10 - 11:14
I remember I came to my friend,
I have a friend, his name was Tommy
  • 11:14 - 11:16
and he had his Bible laying on the bed.
  • 11:16 - 11:19
And he have told me how he have
    just experienced God.
  • 11:19 - 11:22
And I told him that he had become
    brainwashed,
  • 11:22 - 11:26
that he was part of a cult and people
out there were just after his money,
  • 11:26 - 11:28
and he should keep away of all of that,
  • 11:28 - 11:30
it was Jehovah's witnesses he was in
  • 11:30 - 11:35
and I told a lot of things to him
    because I was critical,
  • 11:35 - 11:38
because I have grown up being critical.
  • 11:38 - 11:40
And I did not see it.
  • 11:40 - 11:43
And I fully believed that Tommy
    was brainwashed.
  • 11:43 - 11:46
I fully believed at one time
that he was in a cult,
  • 11:46 - 11:51
    like Jehovah's witnesses and that
he should keep away from all of that.
  • 11:51 - 11:54
Then I experienced the new birth.
  • 11:54 - 11:57
Then my eyes really got open.
  • 11:57 - 12:01
And I came home to my father
and I said: "Father, I met God!"
  • 12:01 - 12:03
    And my father said: "Torben,
    you are brainwashed.
  • 12:03 - 12:05
    It's a cult.
    It's like Jehovah's witnesses.
  • 12:05 - 12:08
They are only after your money.
You have to keep away from all of that."
  • 12:08 - 12:12
And my father told me that.
And I said to my father:
  • 12:12 - 12:16
"But I also said that to Tommy,
but... but it's right, I see it now.
  • 12:16 - 12:18
    This is the truth."
  • 12:18 - 12:22
And he did not understand that
    it was like that.
  • 12:22 - 12:24
He didn't see that as the truth
  • 12:24 - 12:28
    because his eyes were still
    spiritually closed.
  • 12:28 - 12:31
    But a few years later,
    his eyes got open.
  • 12:31 - 12:36
He got born again and he also
    understood it
  • 12:36 - 12:40
because now he was born again.
  • 12:40 - 12:42
And when you are born again,
  • 12:42 - 12:45
    when I got born again,
  • 12:45 - 12:50
    I, from the beginning on,
had a hunger for the milk.
  • 12:50 - 12:56
I had a hunger for the truth,
had a hunger for the Word of God.
  • 12:56 - 12:59
    It's like in the natural,
    when a baby is born,
  • 12:59 - 13:03
the baby has a hunger for milk.
  • 13:03 - 13:08
If the baby don't get milk,
the baby will start crying out.
  • 13:08 - 13:11
So, I had the hunger for the Word of God
  • 13:11 - 13:17
and I could not go on sinning
    the way I did before.
  • 13:17 - 13:21
    Why?
    Because I was born again.
  • 13:21 - 13:22
    And John...
  • 14:46 - 14:48
And I want to start with this
    because we need to understand
  • 14:48 - 14:50
what it is to be born again.
  • 14:50 - 14:57
We need to understand who are
fully born again and who are not,
  • 14:57 - 15:00
if we want to be effective in
    making disciples.
  • 15:00 - 15:06
The Bible here make it clear that no one
    who is born of God
  • 15:06 - 15:12
    makes a practice of sinning.
    He cannot keep on sinning.
  • 15:12 - 15:16
That is not the same that he doesn't fall
    and he has to learn
  • 15:16 - 15:20
because you have to learn, and you fall,
    and you make mistakes
  • 15:20 - 15:26
as a born again believer, but you cannot
    have a practice of sinning,
  • 15:26 - 15:29
    you cannot continue in sin.
  • 15:29 - 15:35
And by this we see who are
children of God and who are not.
  • 15:35 - 15:41
    And also, by this
    who love their brothers,
  • 15:41 - 15:43
    who love fellowship.
  • 15:43 - 15:51
And I would say, when I got born again,
I could not go on sinning,
  • 15:51 - 15:54
I loved the Word of God
  • 15:55 - 15:58
and I just needed to be
    with other believers.
  • 15:58 - 16:00
    I loved my brothers.
    I needed fellowship.
  • 16:01 - 16:05
    Nobody needed to come and
    teach me that.
  • 16:05 - 16:09
    Nobody needed to come and
    bring that up in me.
  • 16:09 - 16:12
Because it came from the Spirit.
  • 16:12 - 16:16
The Spirit inside of me did that
I could not go on sinning.
  • 16:16 - 16:19
The Spirit of God did that I loved
    the Word of God.
  • 16:19 - 16:24
I sought the truth and the Spirit
inside of me did that I loved fellowship.
  • 16:24 - 16:29
    I wanted to have fellowship
    with other believers.
  • 16:29 - 16:34
But today, I see that those things
    are often missing
  • 16:34 - 16:36
    when we disciple people.
  • 16:36 - 16:39
We are trying to disciple people
  • 16:39 - 16:42
    who don't have a longing
    for the Word of God,
  • 16:42 - 16:47
we are trying to disciple people
    who love their sins
  • 16:47 - 16:51
    and don't have problem with
    living a life in sin.
  • 16:51 - 16:55
We try to disciple people who,
    actually, don't love the fellowships
  • 16:55 - 16:58
    and are seeking fellowship
    with other believers.
  • 16:58 - 17:01
    We maybe call them
    the lukewarm Christians,
  • 17:01 - 17:06
but let's just call it as it is -
    they are not born again.
  • 17:06 - 17:11
They are not fully born again
if they don't have those things,
  • 17:11 - 17:17
because we can know a tree
    by its fruit.
  • 17:17 - 17:20
And if that fruits are not there -
  • 17:20 - 17:23
then it's not a good tree,
it's not a tree of God.
  • 17:23 - 17:27
And instead of going in and
    trying to change the fruit,
  • 17:27 - 17:31
we need to go into the foundation,
we need to go into the root.
  • 17:31 - 17:37
    If those things are missing
    in a person's life -
  • 17:38 - 17:40
we need to go back to the gospel.
  • 17:40 - 17:44
    We need to help them
    to get born again,
  • 17:44 - 17:46
because when they are then born again,
  • 17:46 - 17:49
when they truly experience the new birth,
  • 17:49 - 17:55
    those people will automatically
    bring this up in them.
  • 17:55 - 17:59
From the Spirit of God -
    they cannot keep on sinning.
  • 17:59 - 18:05
From the Spirit of God -
they have a longing for the truth.
  • 18:05 - 18:10
From the Spirit of God - they long
    for fellowship with other believers.
  • 18:11 - 18:14
When those three things are there
  • 18:14 - 18:18
then we can start to work with them,
we can start to disciple them
  • 18:18 - 18:21
and it's much easier and they will grow.
  • 18:21 - 18:25
But if those three things are not there
  • 18:25 - 18:28
we can spend a lot of time on people
  • 18:29 - 18:31
    who actually don't want it.
  • 18:31 - 18:34
But, I am going to continue this.
  • 18:34 - 18:39
    There are people who are
    not yet born again.
  • 18:39 - 18:46
They are not spiritual and they are
    maybe in the church.
  • 18:47 - 18:51
And they have no hunger for God
    and His Word.
  • 18:52 - 18:57
They have no hunger for righteousness
and they keep living in sin
  • 18:57 - 19:05
and they have no hunger for the Body.
    They don't love their brothers.
  • 19:05 - 19:10
When we meet them, we need to
    understand where they are -
  • 19:10 - 19:13
to be effective, to help them.
  • 19:13 - 19:16
And what do those people need?
  • 19:16 - 19:20
    Those people need more than
somebody coming and picking them up
  • 19:20 - 19:22
and say: Come on! You have to come
    to the fellowship.
  • 19:22 - 19:26
    They need more to say:
Come on! We need to give you teaching.
  • 19:26 - 19:30
And try to cover those aspects
    that are missing.
  • 19:30 - 19:35
No, those people who are there
    need the gospel.
  • 19:35 - 19:39
They need somebody who can see
    that something is missing.
  • 19:39 - 19:44
Instead of keep discipling them like
    they are already believers,
  • 19:44 - 19:49
we need to see what is missing.
    They need the gospel
  • 19:49 - 19:52
and they need to be born again.
  • 19:52 - 19:53
And when they are fully born again,
  • 19:53 - 19:57
those things will be part of their life.
  • 19:57 - 20:02
    And I've seen that.
    I've seen people in churches
  • 20:02 - 20:06
who did not understand spiritual things.
    They wanted.
  • 20:06 - 20:09
    They think they are believers.
Other people think they are believers.
  • 20:09 - 20:13
They think they are born again.
Other people think they are born again.
  • 20:13 - 20:16
But we think of them like
    lukewarm Christians
  • 20:16 - 20:19
or born again Christians with bad fruit.
  • 20:19 - 20:22
But, when we then took the time
    to sit down with them
  • 20:22 - 20:25
to explain the gospel to them
and they for the first time
  • 20:25 - 20:32
    really understand it and really
    get born again... kaboom!
  • 20:32 - 20:36
    Those fruits came natural.
  • 20:36 - 20:39
Suddenly, after many years in church,
  • 20:39 - 20:42
    suddenly, they have a longing
    for the Word of God.
  • 20:42 - 20:43
    They were hungry.
  • 20:43 - 20:47
We didn't need to try to make them hungry.
  • 20:47 - 20:48
    It came by the Spirit.
  • 20:48 - 20:52
Suddenly, they could not go on sinning
    anymore.
  • 20:52 - 20:55
We didn't need to be over them
    all the time and say:
  • 20:55 - 20:57
Don't do this and don't do this
    and this is wrong.
  • 20:57 - 21:00
It came natural by the Spirit.
  • 21:00 - 21:04
    Suddenly they wanted fellowship.
They wanted to be with others.
  • 21:04 - 21:06
We don't need to go and
pick them up in the car
  • 21:06 - 21:10
every time there is a meeting and say:
you need to come to the meeting and so on,
  • 21:10 - 21:12
    because this is exhausting.
  • 21:12 - 21:16
If you keep trying to disciple people
who don't want it, you are dying.
  • 21:18 - 21:21
    You will not bear fruit
    and it's very exhausting.
  • 21:22 - 21:24
But when they get born again -
  • 21:24 - 21:26
    it comes natural.
  • 21:26 - 21:28
    And it can take time
  • 21:28 - 21:31
to sit down and explain the gospel
    to them.
  • 21:31 - 21:33
    It take time.
  • 21:33 - 21:38
But don't go further and focus
on lots of other things -
  • 21:38 - 21:40
    go back to the gospel.
  • 21:40 - 21:42
    Help them with that foundation.
  • 21:42 - 21:45
    So, that is something about
    being born again
  • 21:45 - 21:47
and I'll put it all together later,
  • 21:47 - 21:51
so it will be even more clear
    in next lessons.
  • 21:51 - 21:54
    Then we have people...
  • 21:55 - 21:59
I want to say about this again...
I can come with an example.
  • 22:00 - 22:03
I was in Canada some time ago
and I was in a church
  • 22:03 - 22:06
where I actually met a guy who
    was in the church.
  • 22:06 - 22:08
He have been in church for three months.
  • 22:08 - 22:11
    And I asked him...
I looked at him and said:
  • 22:11 - 22:13
    What about you?
    So you have experienced God?
  • 22:13 - 22:15
And he said: No, not yet.
  • 22:15 - 22:18
    Not yet? Okay.
    Are you baptized in water?
  • 22:19 - 22:20
    No.
  • 22:20 - 22:24
Okay. Do you speak in tongues?
Have you received the Holy Spirit?
  • 22:24 - 22:25
    No.
  • 22:26 - 22:27
And I asked him: Why not?
  • 22:27 - 22:30
And he said: I don't know.
  • 22:31 - 22:34
So I went to the leaders in the church
    and I said:
  • 22:34 - 22:36
    I have a question here.
    We have somebody here
  • 22:36 - 22:39
who have been with you for three months.
  • 22:39 - 22:43
He is not baptized in water.
He is not baptized with the Holy Spirit.
  • 22:43 - 22:44
    He haven't experienced God yet.
  • 22:44 - 22:47
He's not born again. Why not?
  • 22:47 - 22:50
And the people there in the church,
    the leadership, said:
  • 22:50 - 22:52
    We don't know.
  • 22:52 - 22:53
    I said: What?!
  • 22:54 - 22:58
They had an idea if people just come
    to our fellowships,
  • 22:58 - 23:00
    then it will happen automatically,
  • 23:00 - 23:02
then God will get them born again.
  • 23:02 - 23:04
    This is our job.
  • 23:05 - 23:10
It's our job to take care of those
people we are in contact with.
  • 23:10 - 23:12
We cannot expect them to do it
    by themselves.
  • 23:12 - 23:17
So if we see people who want it
    or are seeking God,
  • 23:17 - 23:20
we need to take them, sit down with them
  • 23:20 - 23:24
    and be better in explaining
    the gospel to them.
  • 23:24 - 23:26
And I've explained about the gospel
    in lesson 8,
  • 23:26 - 23:28
    how you share the gospel.
  • 23:28 - 23:32
And what I did that day, at that meeting,
    I said to everyone:
  • 23:32 - 23:35
    Listen here.
Now I am going to take this guy,
  • 23:35 - 23:37
I am going to sit down with him.
I am going to share the gospel
  • 23:37 - 23:40
in front of everyone of you.
  • 23:40 - 23:42
And what I'll do with him today,
  • 23:42 - 23:44
you should have done three months ago.
  • 23:44 - 23:47
And that day I sat down with him.
  • 23:47 - 23:49
I shared the gospel with him.
  • 23:49 - 23:52
He repented after heard the gospel.
  • 23:52 - 23:55
How can you repent if nobody's telling
    you what sin is?
  • 23:55 - 23:57
    He got baptized in water.
  • 23:57 - 23:59
How can you do that if we don't do it?
  • 23:59 - 24:02
And I laid my hands on him and
    he received the Holy Spirit.
  • 24:02 - 24:04
That day he got born again.
  • 24:04 - 24:09
And he got the fire like never before.
  • 24:09 - 24:11
    His life got changed.
  • 24:11 - 24:17
The sad truth is - if I have not been
there and done that that day,
  • 24:17 - 24:20
    maybe after two, three months
    more in church,
  • 24:20 - 24:21
    he would have thought:
    Okay, God doesn't want me,
  • 24:21 - 24:24
    nothing happened.
    Those people are on fire.
  • 24:24 - 24:27
Those people have a zeal for God.
    Those people long for God.
  • 24:27 - 24:30
    I don't have it.
    Maybe something's wrong with me.
  • 24:30 - 24:32
And then he would have drift out again.
  • 24:32 - 24:35
    And I have seen that.
I have seen people come to church,
  • 24:35 - 24:41
be in church, and after some tome
    in church -
  • 24:42 - 24:44
    they just drift out again
  • 24:44 - 24:49
    because nobody took the time
to really get them born again.
  • 24:49 - 24:53
And it's so important to understand this.
  • 24:53 - 24:58
But if people don't want to listen,
if people don't want the message,
  • 24:58 - 25:02
if people don't want to sit down
    and hear the gospel,
  • 25:02 - 25:06
    then there is a place
where we don't run after them.
  • 25:06 - 25:08
Take the dust off your hands and feet
  • 25:08 - 25:10
    and move on, move on.
  • 25:10 - 25:14
    Because you cannot disciple people
    who don't want it.
  • 25:14 - 25:17
And I have seen people in church
    who used years
  • 25:17 - 25:20
on trying to disciple people who
    actually don't want it.
  • 25:20 - 25:23
Jesus is radical. Jesus said something
    like this in Matthew 7.
  • 25:23 - 25:25
    He said this.
  • 25:39 - 25:41
    This is Jesus saying.
  • 25:41 - 25:42
What does He mean by that?
  • 25:43 - 25:47
What does He mean by not giving dogs
    what is holy
  • 25:47 - 25:50
and do not throw pearls before pigs?
  • 25:50 - 25:52
Because they will trample on it
    and attack you.
  • 25:52 - 25:57
What He means is that -
do not offer what is holy
  • 25:57 - 26:01
to people who don't appreciate it.
  • 26:01 - 26:05
Do not offer what is holy
to people who don't appreciate it.
  • 26:05 - 26:09
    Because then they will turn
    against you and attack you.
  • 26:09 - 26:17
The dogs and swine here is
the picture of a worldly man or woman
  • 26:18 - 26:22
who doesn't value what you give to them.
  • 26:22 - 26:25
A dog doesn't care if the food
    you give to them
  • 26:25 - 26:29
    come from the chef
    in a big restaurant
  • 26:29 - 26:32
    or come from the garbage.
  • 26:34 - 26:41
And swine, if you give them pearls,
they don't appreciate the value of that.
  • 26:41 - 26:47
The same way, we need to be better
    to not use our time,
  • 26:47 - 26:55
    our energy, our money,
on people who don't want it.
  • 26:55 - 26:57
And there is the freedom in this.
  • 26:57 - 27:01
If you want to make disciples
    and be effective,
  • 27:01 - 27:04
those people who want it -
    help them, go far,
  • 27:04 - 27:07
    go the whole way,
lay down your life for them,
  • 27:07 - 27:10
    give your money for them,
    give them everything they need,
  • 27:10 - 27:15
    those people who want it,
help them, help them, help them.
  • 27:15 - 27:21
    But those people who don't
appreciate it and don't want it -
  • 27:21 - 27:25
take your dust off your feet
    and move on.
  • 27:25 - 27:30
    Otherwise you will end up
    spending a lot of time
  • 27:30 - 27:35
on people who don't bear any fruit.
  • 27:35 - 27:38
    So, this is just important,
    but we want to continue.
  • 27:38 - 27:39
    So, there's people who are
    not born again
  • 27:39 - 27:42
and you can know the tree
    by the fruit.
  • 27:42 - 27:43
If they don't have that zeal,
  • 27:43 - 27:48
if they don't have that longing
for the Word of God and all of that,
  • 27:48 - 27:53
    longing for fellowship and righteousness,
then give them the gospel, help them.
  • 27:53 - 27:57
If they don't want to receive the gospel,
    move on.
  • 27:57 - 28:02
But when they get born again -
    they are now born again.
  • 28:02 - 28:07
    But they are like infants.
    They are like small children.
  • 28:07 - 28:10
And some of those who are
born again have a religious background
  • 28:10 - 28:12
so they know more than others
  • 28:12 - 28:18
    and some people are
    totally from outside the church.
  • 28:19 - 28:26
And we have people also in church
who... many who are not born again,
  • 28:26 - 28:31
and of course... They are born again
    but they are still infants.
  • 28:31 - 28:33
    They are still spiritually immature
  • 28:33 - 28:37
and therefore we often see problems
    also in churches.
  • 28:37 - 28:41
    Paul actually addressed that in
    1 Corinthians.
  • 29:01 - 29:06
So, Paul understood that when he
    address people in churches,
  • 29:06 - 29:09
there were people who were mature,
  • 29:09 - 29:11
there were people who are like fathers,
  • 29:11 - 29:16
but there was also people who
were like infants, like small children.
  • 29:16 - 29:21
    And what he addressed,
what he could give the infants
  • 29:21 - 29:26
was not the same as he could give
    the more mature people.
  • 29:26 - 29:28
    I'll just continue.
    Hebrews 5...
  • 30:35 - 30:42
So, here we see, in this text,
that there are babies in Christ,
  • 30:42 - 30:47
    there are children,
there are people who are more mature,
  • 30:47 - 30:51
    there are people who,
in the time that have gone
  • 30:51 - 30:58
    ought to be teaching others,
    but those people instead need
  • 30:58 - 31:00
    other people to teach them.
  • 31:00 - 31:05
Those people who ought to be mature
    are still babies.
  • 31:05 - 31:08
    They need milk.
    They are unskilled in righteousness.
  • 31:08 - 31:13
    They can still not discern
    good and evil.
  • 31:13 - 31:16
    And this is our job.
  • 31:16 - 31:21
Our job is to grow people up.
  • 31:22 - 31:25
    A healthy fellowship
  • 31:27 - 31:32
is not a healthy fellowship with
    a lot of immature babies
  • 31:32 - 31:36
    who have been immature
    for many, many years.
  • 31:36 - 31:44
A healthy fellowship is a fellowship
    where those babies grow up
  • 31:44 - 31:47
    and they become mature.
    They grow up in Christ
  • 31:47 - 31:51
and they are not babies anymore.
    They are not unskilled anymore,
  • 31:51 - 31:59
    when it comes to righteousness.
They are now ready to teach other people.
  • 31:59 - 32:02
And this is what the whole vision
    and idea is,
  • 32:02 - 32:06
not only with the five-fold ministry,
I am going to read about now,
  • 32:06 - 32:11
but the whole idea with church,
the whole idea with coming together
  • 32:11 - 32:14
    - is to grow people.
  • 32:14 - 32:18
    Not just grow in numbers,
    but grow in quality.
  • 32:18 - 32:22
That people who are not born again
    - they get born again.
  • 32:22 - 32:29
But they don't continue as babies.
They grow up and become young men
  • 32:29 - 32:31
    and then they grow up
    and become fathers.
  • 32:31 - 32:34
And then they get babies themself.
  • 32:34 - 32:37
And those babies grow and become
    young men
  • 32:37 - 32:41
and they grow up and become fathers
    and they get babies again.
  • 32:41 - 32:43
    Like in the natural.
  • 32:45 - 32:48
So, lets read here Ephesians 4:11-16.
  • 34:26 - 34:28
And I want to explain it.
  • 34:28 - 34:33
So, why are we together? We are together
for the equipping of the saints.
  • 34:33 - 34:37
So we, as the Body of Christ,
    we grow up,
  • 34:37 - 34:44
so we are mature in Christ,
    no longer children.
  • 34:44 - 34:46
    What is it with children?
  • 34:46 - 34:52
    Children are thrown from
    each side to another,
  • 34:52 - 34:54
every time there is a new teaching.
  • 34:54 - 34:58
They cannot discern good and evil.
    They are getting confused.
  • 34:58 - 35:02
So, we need to grow the Body up.
  • 35:03 - 35:05
And this is what it is.
  • 35:05 - 35:10
    If you look at babies.
    Babies are born again.
  • 35:10 - 35:13
    They are infants.
    They are small children.
  • 35:13 - 35:16
    They are still unskilled
    in righteousness.
  • 35:16 - 35:22
    They are born again,
but they are not mature yet.
  • 35:22 - 35:25
    They are born again and
they have a hunger for the Word of God.
  • 35:25 - 35:29
They are born again and they are hungry
    for righteousness.
  • 35:29 - 35:31
They are still unskilled in it.
  • 35:31 - 35:36
They are born again. They are hungry
    for fellowship with other believers,
  • 35:36 - 35:40
but they are still not yet mature.
  • 35:40 - 35:44
And those who are like babies -
  • 35:46 - 35:48
they need to learn from where
    they are.
  • 35:48 - 35:50
You don't give them a big beef
    and say:
  • 35:50 - 35:54
Take this. Eat this. See you next week.
  • 35:54 - 36:03
    When people are like babies,
they need milk, not solid food.
  • 36:03 - 36:09
    They need still other people
    to teach them,
  • 36:09 - 36:13
    other people to feed them.
  • 36:13 - 36:17
    Then, as we read before,
    we have something called
  • 36:17 - 36:22
young men or more mature people,
    children or young men.
  • 36:22 - 36:27
    There are young men.
    They can eat independently
  • 36:27 - 36:35
and they are now learning to know
    and to trust God.
  • 36:37 - 36:43
So, those young men, they can
    feed themselves,
  • 36:43 - 36:46
    they can handle solid food
    and they, somehow,
  • 36:46 - 36:51
    can discern good and evil.
    They are now growing up.
  • 36:52 - 36:57
    What they need -
    they need training.
  • 36:58 - 37:00
They don't need milk like before.
    They need training.
  • 37:00 - 37:06
    They need help to become
    fathers in the faith.
  • 37:07 - 37:10
And I want to take another scripture where
you read about those different levels
  • 37:10 - 37:14
    so you can understand it
and then I'll put it together.
  • 37:14 - 37:16
    From 1 John 2...
  • 38:18 - 38:22
These are the things where John
is going in and talking about, like:
  • 38:22 - 38:25
I've been writing this to you,
    young children.
  • 38:25 - 38:28
I've been writing this to you,
    young men.
  • 38:28 - 38:32
I've been writing this to you,
    fathers.
  • 38:32 - 38:35
And one of the things he said
about fathers here is that -
  • 38:35 - 38:41
    You fathers, you know Him,
who have been from the beginning.
  • 38:41 - 38:45
Or said with other words -
    you know God
  • 38:45 - 38:48
and have known Him for a long time.
  • 38:48 - 38:50
You have a relationship with God.
  • 38:50 - 38:51
    You really know God.
  • 38:51 - 38:56
You have been here a long time now
    so you see things
  • 38:56 - 38:58
    the children don't see.
  • 38:58 - 39:01
    You understand things that
    babies don't understand.
  • 39:01 - 39:06
    You are now fathers.
You are now, as I wrote here,
  • 39:06 - 39:09
you are now mature in the faith.
  • 39:09 - 39:14
    And other people are now
    looking up to you
  • 39:14 - 39:21
    and, as fathers, you have
    your own children.
  • 39:21 - 39:25
    So, what do fathers need?
    They don't need milk.
  • 39:25 - 39:30
    They need to be encouraged
to be there for the next generation.
  • 39:30 - 39:43
Fathers need to help to raise up others
to be like them in the faith.
  • 39:45 - 39:50
You who are seeing this video are
    one of those four.
  • 39:50 - 39:53
Maybe you see this video and
you are not yet born again.
  • 39:53 - 39:55
How do you know if you are born again?
  • 39:55 - 39:59
Do you have the fruit of somebody
    who is born again?
  • 39:59 - 40:02
If not, you need to be born again.
  • 40:02 - 40:05
    It's more than just:
Oh, I now I need to pull myself together
  • 40:05 - 40:06
and I need to get a longing for the
    Word of God
  • 40:06 - 40:10
and I need to pull myself together,
I need to have love for the fellowship,
  • 40:10 - 40:11
I really need to pull myself together,
  • 40:11 - 40:15
and... and... and... and get a
    longing for righteousness.
  • 40:15 - 40:19
    No, you need the gospel.
You need to be born again.
  • 40:19 - 40:23
Because, then the Spirit is doing
all of this inside of you.
  • 40:23 - 40:29
But you who are born again,
    when you are spiritual baby,
  • 40:29 - 40:32
and that has nothing to do
how old you are in your age.
  • 40:32 - 40:35
That has to do with how old
    you are spiritually,
  • 40:36 - 40:41
    you need something that is
    different from fathers need
  • 40:41 - 40:43
    and young men need.
  • 40:43 - 40:48
Young men, if you now have understood
the foundation, you have grown up,
  • 40:48 - 40:53
as young man you also need
    something different than babies.
  • 40:53 - 40:56
And again, and again, with fathers.
  • 40:56 - 41:00
And what is important with life
here is that we need to understand
  • 41:00 - 41:03
    where people are.
  • 41:04 - 41:08
    We need to understand where
    they are in their life.
  • 41:08 - 41:11
Paul was clear to whom he was
    speaking to.
  • 41:11 - 41:16
And we cannot demand the same
    from a baby
  • 41:16 - 41:19
as we demand from a young man.
  • 41:20 - 41:24
I have just got a grandson, David.
  • 41:24 - 41:28
If he just sits and poo in his diaper,
    we are excited:
  • 41:28 - 41:33
Hey, he poo in his diaper!
He is a boy. He is not one year old yet.
  • 41:33 - 41:38
We don't demand a lot of things from him.
  • 41:38 - 41:42
    We take care of him.
We give him a lot of things.
  • 41:42 - 41:45
    We don't give him beef.
    He doesn't barbecue with us.
  • 41:45 - 41:49
He's there, but we give him
    something else.
  • 41:49 - 41:54
    But what he's eating,
if we feed that to our teenage daughter
  • 41:54 - 42:00
who is sixteen years old, soon seventeen,
    she will hunger.
  • 42:00 - 42:02
She will not grow by it.
  • 42:02 - 42:04
There will come a time when she will
    stop growing by it
  • 42:04 - 42:07
if she only eat that again and again.
  • 42:07 - 42:12
And some churches do the same thing
    all over again
  • 42:12 - 42:16
and they have really good focus on
    getting people into church
  • 42:16 - 42:20
and they are maybe good at
    getting people born again,
  • 42:20 - 42:25
but those people need more than
just the same thing all over again.
  • 42:25 - 42:28
What now when they are born again?
  • 42:28 - 42:30
    They need something else.
  • 42:30 - 42:33
And this is what I believe that...
  • 42:33 - 42:37
Instead of seeing the church as
    a institution
  • 42:37 - 42:42
with a lot of different kids,
the church should be like a family
  • 42:42 - 42:47
    where we have fathers,
we have babies and we have children.
  • 42:47 - 42:51
    And people understand that.
And it's part of where we are
  • 42:51 - 42:54
    and then we help people
    from where they are.
  • 42:54 - 42:57
We help people from where they are,
  • 42:57 - 43:01
because it's different what they need.
  • 43:01 - 43:05
    Lets take babies.
What do we do when we have babies?
  • 43:05 - 43:09
    When people are born again.
  • 43:09 - 43:12
What they need - they need...
    I wrote something down here,
  • 43:12 - 43:16
they need the time to grow.
    It takes time to grow.
  • 43:18 - 43:23
We don't demand to much of them.
  • 43:23 - 43:29
They have still no skills, they need milk
and they experience a lot of attacks.
  • 43:29 - 43:31
They have not yet overcome Satan.
  • 43:31 - 43:34
I will come to 'overcome Satan' later.
  • 43:37 - 43:40
    Babies need time to grow.
  • 43:40 - 43:43
    They make mistakes.
  • 43:44 - 43:50
    They are still unskilled
    when it comes to righteousness.
  • 43:51 - 43:54
It's so important us who are
    more mature in the faith
  • 43:54 - 43:59
    that we remember
how it was in the beginning,
  • 43:59 - 44:03
    that we don't forget
    where we came from.
  • 44:03 - 44:06
I have a high standard over myself,
    over my life now.
  • 44:06 - 44:09
I have a high standard with some
of the young people we are working with,
  • 44:09 - 44:11
who are strong in the faith,
  • 44:12 - 44:16
    but young people make mistakes,
    babies.
  • 44:16 - 44:19
    They are under attack.
  • 44:19 - 44:23
    We need to help them.
We need a lot of patience.
  • 44:24 - 44:28
And they are going to sin again.
They are going to fall in sin.
  • 44:28 - 44:32
    They are going to fight.
They are going to do crazy things.
  • 44:32 - 44:37
    But they are babies.
What more can we expect from them?
  • 44:37 - 44:43
And we need to except that.
We need to give people time to grow.
  • 44:43 - 44:49
We need to don't demand to much of them.
  • 44:49 - 44:54
    So, need them...
Like Paul, when he wrote to babies,
  • 44:54 - 44:58
    children, small children, he said...
    you... Not Paul. John, sorry.
  • 44:58 - 45:01
In John, we read about before,
    he said:
  • 45:01 - 45:05
    Your sins are forgiven.
  • 45:05 - 45:09
We need to help people to
    understand their sins are forgiven.
  • 45:09 - 45:13
We need to help them to understand
    who they are in Christ.
  • 45:13 - 45:16
And when they then sin and do
    something wrong,
  • 45:16 - 45:19
    then there is forgiveness again
    and just come up again,
  • 45:19 - 45:23
    rise up again.
    We need to understand that.
  • 45:23 - 45:28
Because they are going to fall
in sin. They are going to fight.
  • 45:28 - 45:31
    They are under attack.
  • 45:31 - 45:33
Then we need to give them
    the Word of God.
  • 45:34 - 45:38
But they need milk. We cannot just
give them the Bible and say:
  • 45:38 - 45:40
    Here's the Bible.
    Go home and read it.
  • 45:41 - 45:44
Somebody said to me when I got born again:
  • 45:44 - 45:46
Torben, go and read the Bible.
  • 45:46 - 45:49
I went home to read the Bible.
    I've never opened the Bible.
  • 45:49 - 45:53
So I started in Judges. I opened up
the Judges in the Old Testament
  • 45:53 - 45:55
because I wanted to read about
    the Judgement Day
  • 45:55 - 45:58
    and I thought I'll read
    about that there.
  • 45:58 - 46:01
I did not know that was the New
    and the Old Testament.
  • 46:01 - 46:05
I did not know that the Gospels
were still somehow before the cross,
  • 46:05 - 46:08
    and therefore you didn't see
    the full life there,
  • 46:08 - 46:13
but this is about Jesus and how
He was teaching how to follow Him.
  • 46:13 - 46:17
I did not know about the Holy Spirit
and New Covenant on the cross
  • 46:17 - 46:20
and the Book of Acts, what the
    Book of Acts was about.
  • 46:20 - 46:25
I did not know Romans and how Romans
was in the letters, and all of that.
  • 46:25 - 46:29
I did not know it. People don't know it
    if we don't help them.
  • 46:29 - 46:33
So, I would say, if we have somebody
who is new in the faith as a baby,
  • 46:33 - 46:36
    introduce the Bible to them.
  • 46:36 - 46:38
    Read the Bible with them.
  • 46:38 - 46:43
    Explain where's the Old Covenant,
    the New Covenant starts.
  • 46:43 - 46:47
    Explain them about Jesus' Word,
    what He is saying.
  • 46:47 - 46:50
    Go back to Jesus.
    Explain about the new birth
  • 46:50 - 46:54
and explain them about the Book of Acts
    and early Christians,
  • 46:54 - 47:00
    Romans, all of that.
Help them. Introduce them to the Bible.
  • 47:00 - 47:05
    Read the Bible with them.
    Talk with them about it.
  • 47:05 - 47:08
And I also wrote here that they are
    under the attack.
  • 47:08 - 47:10
They have not yet overcome Satan.
  • 47:10 - 47:13
    We have to understand...
  • 47:14 - 47:18
    When people are born again,
    Satan hate that
  • 47:18 - 47:22
and he is very fast in attacking
    in the beginning.
  • 47:22 - 47:26
And we see that with Moses,
    we see that with Jesus.
  • 47:26 - 47:30
As soon as Moses was born,
    pharaoh, at that time,
  • 47:30 - 47:35
he tried to kill all the babies
    because...
  • 47:35 - 47:38
He actually killed all the babies.
    He wanted to kill Moses.
  • 47:38 - 47:41
We saw the same with Jesus
    because Moses is, of course,
  • 47:41 - 47:44
the picture of Jesus. But Jesus
    and His parents, actually,
  • 47:44 - 47:51
    needed to flee to Egypt,
to come away so He will not be killed.
  • 47:51 - 47:58
Satan hate us. Satan hate people
    when they get born again.
  • 47:58 - 48:03
And therefore there is an extra attack
    in the beginning.
  • 48:03 - 48:08
And I was under a lot of spiritual
attack when I got born again.
  • 48:08 - 48:14
And there was time, the first,
I would say, the first three, four months.
  • 48:14 - 48:20
where I was close to fall away
    again, and again, and again.
  • 48:20 - 48:22
    It was hard.
  • 48:22 - 48:27
It was hard when I came home,
I came back to my old friends in school
  • 48:27 - 48:29
and they wanted to go and drink
    and I was like:
  • 48:29 - 48:33
Yeah, it's wrong, but I did not say...
Okay, I want to go and drink with you.
  • 48:33 - 48:35
Oh no, I don't want to drink, but...
  • 48:35 - 48:38
It was hard. There was a battle going on.
  • 48:38 - 48:41
    And I made mistakes because
    I was still a baby.
  • 48:41 - 48:43
I was infant, I was unskilled in
    righteousness.
  • 48:43 - 48:45
What did I need in my life?
  • 48:45 - 48:48
I needed people who could counsel me.
  • 48:48 - 48:49
I needed people who could help me.
  • 48:49 - 48:52
I needed people who could pray with me,
  • 48:52 - 48:54
    who could pray for me.
  • 48:55 - 49:00
And I remember that. I remember in a
church we had some years ago.
  • 49:00 - 49:03
    We saw three young people
    come to Christ.
  • 49:03 - 49:06
And they came into our fellowship.
  • 49:06 - 49:10
And after a short time in our fellowship,
    after a month or two,
  • 49:10 - 49:14
    suddenly they all disappeared... Fiu!
    They are all gone again.
  • 49:14 - 49:16
And we are like: Where are they?
  • 49:16 - 49:18
    They just disappeared.
  • 49:18 - 49:24
And me and my friend, we came together
and said: No, lets pray for them.
  • 49:24 - 49:26
    Satan is a liar.
He is not going to win this time.
  • 49:26 - 49:29
So we took authority in the Spirit
    and we prayed.
  • 49:29 - 49:33
And we commanded Satan to leave
them right now in the name of Jesus.
  • 49:33 - 49:36
We are praying for those young people,
    we are praying that Satan
  • 49:36 - 49:39
is going to leave them, that what God have
    started is going to fulfill
  • 49:39 - 49:44
and every attack is going to go, and we
were praying and praying and praying
  • 49:44 - 49:46
    for those young people.
  • 49:46 - 49:50
That evening we had a house meeting
    in our living room, house,
  • 49:52 - 49:54
    and somebody knocked the door
    and I opened the door
  • 49:54 - 49:55
and it was one of them.
  • 49:55 - 49:58
And I was like: Hi, it's so good to see
    you again.
  • 49:58 - 50:01
Like, I was surprised he was here
    and I said:
  • 50:01 - 50:05
You know we have a meeting tonight.
    And he said like:
  • 50:05 - 50:08
No, I just knew I needed to come.
  • 50:08 - 50:09
    Okay, come in.
  • 50:09 - 50:12
    Five minutes later,
the knock on the door again.
  • 50:12 - 50:14
    I opened.
    It was the other boy.
  • 50:14 - 50:19
Hi! Yeah, I just felt so strong
    I needed to come tonight.
  • 50:19 - 50:22
    Okay, come in.
Five minutes later, the third boy.
  • 50:22 - 50:26
All three came. Have not talked
    with each other,
  • 50:26 - 50:28
did not know that it was
    a meeting,
  • 50:28 - 50:33
but all three at the same moment
just felt they needed to come.
  • 50:33 - 50:38
And they have all three been
on the big, big, big attack.
  • 50:38 - 50:43
Satan have just come with guilt,
    with doubt, with fear,
  • 50:43 - 50:45
and they were on the attack.
  • 50:45 - 50:50
We who are strong need to carry
    their burdens.
  • 50:50 - 50:52
We who are strong need to help them.
  • 50:52 - 50:56
We who know God we need to
    pray them through.
  • 50:56 - 51:00
We need to be with them.
We need to be better to take care of them.
  • 51:00 - 51:05
Don't give up when they are struggling,
    because they are struggling.
  • 51:05 - 51:08
    They are going to struggle
    again and again.
  • 51:08 - 51:11
    So, they are still babies.
    They are still young.
  • 51:11 - 51:14
They need a lot of time.
They need a time to grow.
  • 51:14 - 51:18
They need that we don't depend
    to much on them,
  • 51:18 - 51:20
but we give them time to get to know God,
  • 51:20 - 51:24
they have no skill in righteousness.
They are still falling in sin,
  • 51:24 - 51:27
    they are doing mistakes.
    They need milk.
  • 51:27 - 51:32
They need us to teach them and help them
and they are under the attack.
  • 51:32 - 51:35
So they need us to pray for them.
  • 51:35 - 51:38
Remember that when you work with people.
  • 51:38 - 51:42
Then we have the young ones.
  • 51:42 - 51:48
The young ones, what we read before -
    strong and have overcome Satan.
  • 51:48 - 51:52
    So they have now overcome
    the first attack,
  • 51:52 - 51:56
that time when they have been struggling
    with Satan being after them,
  • 51:56 - 51:58
    they have overcome that.
  • 51:58 - 52:02
You are not afraid for them anymore that
they will suddenly fall away today
  • 52:02 - 52:07
or tomorrow or next week. Why?
Because they have overcome that first...
  • 52:08 - 52:13
lets say - level of being a baby.
    They are now young one.
  • 52:13 - 52:15
    They have overcome that.
  • 52:15 - 52:18
    So, they are strong and
    have overcome Satan.
  • 52:18 - 52:22
They can now handle solid food.
  • 52:22 - 52:25
You can go deeper with them.
    You can explain more.
  • 52:25 - 52:29
They can read the Bible themself
    in the better way.
  • 52:29 - 52:32
They can understand what they read.
  • 52:32 - 52:36
So, instead of just giving them teaching
and teaching and teaching and teaching,
  • 52:36 - 52:40
you can say: Hey, try to read this.
    Go home and read this.
  • 52:40 - 52:46
Read Romans, chapter this and this
and then, what do you read?
  • 52:46 - 52:49
So, you can, instead of just teach them
    to do everything,
  • 52:49 - 52:54
you can give them the word and they
    can eat the word themself.
  • 52:54 - 52:56
They are now learning to grow spiritually
  • 52:56 - 53:02
and they are more dependent on God
    and less on you.
  • 53:02 - 53:08
And I would say, like a baby,
    a baby needs to...
  • 53:09 - 53:13
It's okay to teach the baby that they
    are dependent on you.
  • 53:13 - 53:15
    They are still babies.
    They need you.
  • 53:15 - 53:18
    They need mature people
    around them.
  • 53:18 - 53:21
But now, when they grow up
    and become younger,
  • 53:21 - 53:26
    the older they become,
the less dependent they become on you
  • 53:26 - 53:29
    and the more dependent
    they become on God.
  • 53:29 - 53:32
And this is how it is in the natural.
  • 53:33 - 53:36
    David, our grandson, he's totally
dependent on his mom and dad,
  • 53:36 - 53:41
but mom and dad are not so
dependent on me and my wife Lene,
  • 53:41 - 53:44
    because they have grown up.
  • 53:44 - 53:48
So, there are those different things.
  • 53:48 - 53:51
    Then we have fathers.
  • 53:51 - 53:55
And I would say with kids,
    young kids - train them,
  • 53:55 - 53:59
give them action, take them out,
    do something crazy with them.
  • 53:59 - 54:03
I think this is... really take them
    out on a mission trip.
  • 54:03 - 54:05
    Take them in a car,
take them out on a mission.
  • 54:05 - 54:10
    Take them backpacking. Go out
in the world and experience things
  • 54:10 - 54:13
where they really learn and grow.
  • 54:13 - 54:17
I am going to come much more into that
    in the next lesson
  • 54:17 - 54:20
where I am going to talk about
    how we do church.
  • 54:20 - 54:23
    Then we have fathers.
  • 54:23 - 54:26
    They can use their senses.
    They are really mature
  • 54:26 - 54:32
when it comes to right and wrong.
They can discern good from evil.
  • 54:32 - 54:34
    They know God.
    They know the big picture.
  • 54:34 - 54:41
They have learned a lot. And now
they are getting their own children.
  • 54:41 - 54:44
    People look up to them.
  • 54:45 - 54:51
They have the fruit of the Spirit:
    love, joy, peace, long suffering,
  • 54:51 - 54:56
    gentleness, goodness, faith.
    We need that.
  • 54:56 - 54:58
    We need fathers.
  • 54:58 - 55:02
We don't need a lot of leaders
in the sense of the way
  • 55:02 - 55:05
we do church today as an institution
    where the leader come
  • 55:05 - 55:07
and speak and then he goes home.
  • 55:07 - 55:11
We need fathers. We need people
    who have overcome Satan,
  • 55:11 - 55:14
who are strong in the faith,
    who see the big picture,
  • 55:14 - 55:18
who are filled with love, joy,
    peace, long suffering,
  • 55:18 - 55:20
    gentleness, goodness, faith.
  • 55:20 - 55:25
Because they... to have fathers around,
    then the children,
  • 55:25 - 55:29
    young children have somebody to
    look up to.
  • 55:30 - 55:32
So, I hope this make sense.
  • 55:32 - 55:35
I know that there was a lot of scripture
    and lot of things,
  • 55:35 - 55:38
    but it's really important introduction
    to some of the things
  • 55:38 - 55:41
    I'm going to share later.
  • 55:41 - 55:47
So, like we said last time,
    in a fellowship,
  • 55:47 - 55:50
we need to understand where that
    fellowship is.
  • 55:50 - 55:55
We need to understand if this is a
    fellowship without the spiritual children,
  • 55:55 - 55:57
then they need a evangelist to come in
    and help them
  • 55:57 - 55:59
    to get spiritual children.
  • 55:59 - 56:03
But we also need to know if it is a
    fellowship with lot of babies.
  • 56:03 - 56:08
Then we need somebody who can come
    and give them milk.
  • 56:08 - 56:11
If you have babies, don't run out on the
    street to find new babies
  • 56:11 - 56:15
and let those babies you have already
    lay and suffer.
  • 56:15 - 56:18
Then take care of those babies
    you have.
  • 56:18 - 56:24
If there is people with children,
then we need people to push them out
  • 56:24 - 56:27
and let them to be less dependent
on you, more dependent on God
  • 56:27 - 56:31
and grow up, so those children can
    be mature and become fathers.
  • 56:31 - 56:36
    Every fellowship have some of
    those levels.
  • 56:36 - 56:38
You are on one of those levels.
  • 56:38 - 56:44
And I think, if we start to get this in
    - in our understanding,
  • 56:45 - 56:48
we would be better in discipleship,
  • 56:48 - 56:54
because we don't give milk to young men
    who will not grow.
  • 56:54 - 56:59
We don't give beef to small babies
    who will die of it
  • 56:59 - 57:02
and we don't try to disciple people
    and give up
  • 57:02 - 57:06
because they don't have the fruit of it.
  • 57:06 - 57:11
So, I hope it make sense.
    So, just a short ending.
  • 57:11 - 57:17
If we meet people and disciple people
who don't have those fruits -
  • 57:17 - 57:20
    help them with the gospel.
    Sit down with them.
  • 57:20 - 57:24
    Introduce the gospel again.
Lead them to a true repentance
  • 57:24 - 57:29
and true baptism and true Holy Spirit.
    Lead them through that
  • 57:29 - 57:31
because then they will have that fruit.
  • 57:31 - 57:35
Then they will now have the hunger
    for the Word of God,
  • 57:35 - 57:39
    the hunger for the righteousness
    and love for the fellowship.
  • 57:39 - 57:44
But when people then are babies,
    give them milk, help them,
  • 57:44 - 57:49
be patient with them, love them,
introduce them to the Word of God,
  • 57:49 - 57:51
    but not just say:
    Go home and read that.
  • 57:51 - 57:55
Read the Word of God with them.
    Explain the Word of God.
  • 57:55 - 57:58
Explain so that they understand it.
  • 57:58 - 58:02
    You have to feed them.
    They cannot feed themself.
  • 58:02 - 58:05
And you need to give them
    the time to grow.
  • 58:05 - 58:10
You don't demand the same from a baby
    as from a young man.
  • 58:10 - 58:14
    And with young men,
    they need to action.
  • 58:14 - 58:18
They need help. You don't teach them
    and explain them everything
  • 58:18 - 58:21
like they are babies. You give them
    the Word and say:
  • 58:21 - 58:26
'Go and read that.' You help them
to be more dependent on God
  • 58:26 - 58:31
and less on you. And you help them
to grow up where they become
  • 58:31 - 58:35
fathers in the faith and get their
    own children.
  • 58:35 - 58:38
So, it was what I wanted
    to speak about this time.
  • 58:38 - 58:43
The next lesson I will try to put it
    together and be more practical
  • 58:43 - 58:47
    and come with examples of
    what you can do
  • 58:47 - 58:51
when you are there, what you can do,
    how you can meet,
  • 58:51 - 58:53
how you can bring people together
  • 58:53 - 58:56
and how you can set fellowships up
    like this.
  • 58:56 - 58:57
    God bless you!
  • 58:57 - 59:01
And if you did not see the last lesson,
    25, see that,
  • 59:01 - 59:04
and then we will be back soon
    with 27.
  • 59:04 - 59:05
    God bless you!
