Your Lifes Ambition VIdeo Tract v3

  • 0:01 - 0:02
    Life is brief.
  • 0:02 - 0:05
Moses said life is like a night's sleep.
  • 0:05 - 0:08
David said life is like a fading shadow.
  • 0:08 - 0:11
    James said your life is
    like a vanishing vapor.
  • 0:11 - 0:15
And Peter says life is like
    the withering grass.
  • 0:15 - 0:17
    You're on a fast one-way street
  • 0:17 - 0:19
never to pass this way again.
  • 0:19 - 0:22
    In less than 100 years,
  • 0:22 - 0:25
    it will all be over.
  • 0:25 - 0:27
You will likely be long gone
  • 0:27 - 0:29
    and scarcely remembered.
  • 0:29 - 0:31
The funeral home and the grave
  • 0:31 - 0:34
are at the end of the road.
  • 0:34 - 0:36
Are you spending your journey wisely?
  • 0:36 - 0:38
Are you on the right road?
  • 0:38 - 0:41
    What is your life's ambition?
  • 0:41 - 0:43
What is the real purpose of life?
  • 0:43 - 0:45
You say your goal in life...
  • 0:45 - 0:46
    is pleasures, a good time,
  • 0:46 - 0:49
to get all the enthusiasm you can,
  • 0:49 - 0:52
to eat all you can, drink all you can,
  • 0:52 - 0:53
shoot all the drugs you can,
  • 0:53 - 0:55
have all the sex you can,
  • 0:55 - 0:57
    and laugh all you can.
  • 0:57 - 0:59
    But look down the road.
  • 0:59 - 1:03
    Will your life's ambition
    hold in the wheelchair?
  • 1:03 - 1:03
    No.
  • 1:03 - 1:05
    Burnout is sure.
  • 1:05 - 1:08
You've spent your youth and your energies.
  • 1:08 - 1:10
    Your toes have curled,
  • 1:10 - 1:11
    your teeth have rotted,
  • 1:11 - 1:13
    your skin has wrinkled,
  • 1:13 - 1:16
    and your lusts have
    withered like your body.
  • 1:16 - 1:20
What's left but a few fading memories
  • 1:20 - 1:23
    whispering, "What was the use?"
  • 1:23 - 1:24
    What was the use?
  • 1:24 - 1:26
    What was the use?
  • 1:26 - 1:28
The tombstone will be your stop sign
  • 1:28 - 1:31
and the judgment of God will display
  • 1:31 - 1:33
all you have done in your body
  • 1:33 - 1:35
    like an open closet door.
  • 1:35 - 1:39
God says He has appointed for men to die
  • 1:39 - 1:42
    and after this comes judgment.
  • 1:42 - 1:44
You say your goal in life is possessions,
  • 1:44 - 1:47
    to accumulate all you can.
  • 1:47 - 1:50
But I invite you to show me the house
  • 1:50 - 1:51
    that hasn't rotted,
  • 1:51 - 1:53
    the car that hasn't rusted,
  • 1:53 - 1:55
the clothes that haven't worn out,
  • 1:55 - 1:58
or haven't been eaten by moths.
  • 1:58 - 2:00
Many are the elderly whose estates
  • 2:00 - 2:03
    have been reduced to
    a few sticks of furniture
  • 2:03 - 2:04
    in a nursing home.
  • 2:04 - 2:07
Howard Hughes was one of the wealthiest
  • 2:07 - 2:09
and came to the end of his career
  • 2:09 - 2:11
holed up in a hotel room
  • 2:11 - 2:13
    collecting his urine,
  • 2:13 - 2:14
    eating only ice cream
  • 2:14 - 2:17
    with fingernails like bird's claws.
  • 2:17 - 2:21
What can mere things do for you
  • 2:21 - 2:24
when you're gaping for your last breath?
  • 2:24 - 2:26
The grave will even strip you
  • 2:26 - 2:29
of your precious wife and children.
  • 2:29 - 2:31
    Is your goal popularity? Fame?
  • 2:31 - 2:34
    Reputation and personal prominence?
  • 2:34 - 2:37
This boastful, ugly show of self-life
  • 2:37 - 2:39
    will see the curtains too.
  • 2:39 - 2:41
Take a tour of the cemetery.
  • 2:41 - 2:45
Every town has one or two cemeteries.
  • 2:45 - 2:49
    Where are the successful?
    They're there too.
  • 2:49 - 2:51
    Truly, as someone said,
  • 2:51 - 2:56
    "Death will always be the
    one signal failure of man."
  • 2:56 - 2:59
    And furthermore,
    in two or three generations,
  • 2:59 - 3:02
your name will be lost forever
  • 3:02 - 3:04
    from the faceless forgotten multitudes
  • 3:04 - 3:07
    who have gone before.
  • 3:07 - 3:11
And besides, to what purpose ultimately
  • 3:11 - 3:13
    is your supposed influence
  • 3:13 - 3:16
    for good on mankind
  • 3:16 - 3:19
    when mankind itself will soon
  • 3:19 - 3:21
    wink out of existence?
  • 3:21 - 3:25
    God will surely close
    the world history book
  • 3:25 - 3:28
    and burn the "Who's Who?"
  • 3:28 - 3:30
at the return of the Lord Jesus Christ
  • 3:30 - 3:33
    to whom belongs the glory.
  • 3:33 - 3:37
    Listen, there is only
    one valid goal in life,
  • 3:37 - 3:40
to live for God and love Him supremely.
  • 3:40 - 3:43
Isn't He worthy of the glory?
  • 3:43 - 3:45
    God made us for Himself
  • 3:45 - 3:47
    and life spent for Him.
  • 3:47 - 3:51
And with Him is fulfillment at its best
  • 3:51 - 3:53
    yielding righteousness, peace,
  • 3:53 - 3:56
    and joy unspeakable.
  • 3:56 - 3:59
    Your plans, ambitions, and wishes
  • 3:59 - 4:01
    are but hollow idols.
  • 4:01 - 4:04
Throw them in the trash can.
  • 4:04 - 4:06
Take your splendid sins and cast them
  • 4:06 - 4:09
by faith on the mighty Savior
  • 4:09 - 4:12
    trusting that He died
    to pay your sin debt.
  • 4:12 - 4:14
    Get a Bible.
  • 4:14 - 4:15
    Saturate your mind with it
  • 4:15 - 4:19
and find it to be a manifesto
of the mind of God -
  • 4:19 - 4:22
an operator's manual for your soul,
  • 4:22 - 4:25
    a blueprint for building character,
  • 4:25 - 4:27
a rule book for the race of life,
  • 4:27 - 4:29
    a roadmap to heaven.
  • 4:29 - 4:33
    Invest everything in God Himself.
  • 4:33 - 4:37
    He alone has eternal life.
  • 4:37 - 4:40
And those in union with Him through Jesus
  • 4:40 - 4:42
will rise in the last day
  • 4:42 - 4:44
    with a brand new body
  • 4:44 - 4:45
    and live forever.
  • 4:45 - 4:47
    Will you repent and believe?
  • 4:47 - 4:49
Or will you press on and perish?
  • 4:49 - 4:51
    What does God say?
  • 4:51 - 4:53
All that is in the world,
  • 4:53 - 4:55
    the lust of the flesh,
  • 4:55 - 4:57
the lust of the eyes -
  • 4:57 - 4:58
    meaning your possessions -
  • 4:58 - 5:00
    the boastful pride of life,
  • 5:00 - 5:03
that is, your desire for popularity,
  • 5:03 - 5:06
    is not from the Father
    but is from the world.
  • 5:06 - 5:08
And the world is passing away
  • 5:08 - 5:09
    and also its lusts,
  • 5:09 - 5:11
but one who does the will of God
  • 5:11 - 5:14
    abides forever.
  • 5:14 - 5:19
Make the will of God your life's ambition.
  • 5:19 - 5:23
Who are those who enter heaven at last?
  • 5:23 - 5:28
Those who do the will of God.
  • 5:28 - 5:31
    Jesus said: Not everyone
who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,'
  • 5:31 - 5:32
will enter the kingdom of heaven,
  • 5:32 - 5:35
but the one who does the will
of My Father who is in heaven.
  • 5:35 - 5:37
    Matthew 7:21
