[Interview with a new member]

My name is Masao Wada.

I'm 31 years old.

I work as a bassist.

The band I'm playing in is called
"Gesu no Kiwami Otome".

But I also play for "Dadaray" and
"Ichikoro", so it's three in total.

[REASON FOR JOINING TERRACE HOUSE]
I want to fall in love...

I haven't had a girlfriend for six years,

so I thought it was time to just go
for it and find myself a girlfriend...

So I auditioned,

and now I actually
get to appear on the show.

[WERE YOU IN LOVE
IN THE PAST SIX YEARS?]

Over the last six years,

I did fall in love a couple times, but...

When I told them how I felt,

I would get rejected every time.

They'd say things like, "Are you kidding?"

Like, "You're not being serious, are you?"

As soon as I think that
I like her and that she's cute,

I'd just tell them, "You're cute".

I think that's when they stop trusting me.

I've realized that for myself.

I think I have to be careful about that.

I first started playing for "Gesu no
Kiwami Otome" six years ago

and I haven't had a girlfriend since then.

So I guess it doesn't matter
how successful I am.

I'm pretty sure that I'm the problem.

I'm really unpopular.

[WHY ARE YOU UNPOPULAR?]
Well, first of all, it's because I'm fat.

There's no doubt about that.

You know how there are women
who say they like stout men?

That's definitely a lie.

I know they prefer the slim kind.

Given my experience over the last
six years, there's no doubt about it.

Being fat is a minus for me,

so I'm thinking of going to the gym
when I'm in Karuizawa.

My performance at live shows
will improve, too.

Well, that's one reason.

Another is that I tend to
become really fussy over details.

Like when someone uses their own
chopsticks to move food to their plate

chopsticks for taking the food.

I think it's okay to use your

we can talk about together,
like our hobbies.

Someone I can have a deep
conversation with.

Someone who...

I can talk about things I can't
talk about with most other people.

Someone like that would be great.

For me, basically playing
bass is what I do.

If there isn't anything that person is
as passionate about...

I don't think we could be together.

[WHAT'S YOUR NO-GO TYPE?]
People who pride themselves about their hard work.

I don't like to hear,
"Look at how hard I'm trying!"

Everyone's working hard, you know.

I can't help but think that.
I'm a bit narrow-minded in that regard.

Also, I'm intimidated by super
fashionable girls.

I'm not fashionable myself.

I'd feel a little intimidated.

Well, it's not like I don't like it.

It's just...

I'd think that I can't have her.

[YOUR IDEAL DATE?]

Well... Ideal...

I just want to hold hands.

After six years...

I really just want to hold hands.

That would be my final objective.

And, you know...

I want to go to different Japanese pubs...

... and have skewers or something.

I'd like to go out regularly to
find these types of places.

Instead of looking something up beforehand...

I just want to go somewhere
and look for a place.

And while looking for a new place
to discover, I want to be holding hands.

[THINGS YOU WANT TO DO AT T.H.?]
First of all, I want to build up trust

with the other male housemates and
have a good relationship with them.

First, I want to drink with the other guys...

... and ask them about
what's going on with them.

But it would be best if there was a girl
I could talk to about these things.
