Aydyn speaking Tuvan | Siberian language | WIKITONGUES

  • 0:00 - 0:03
I hope you are well, my dear Tuvan people!
  • 0:04 - 0:09
    My ancestors, aunts, sisters-in-law,
    brothers-in-law, sisters and brothers!
  • 0:09 - 0:15
I salute you all from the bright riverbank
of the great sleepless river Yenisey,
  • 0:17 - 0:18
    from the center of Asia,
  • 0:18 - 0:24
    from the foothill of wide
    and great Sayan Tandy mountains.
  • 0:25 - 0:27
    What is the day tomorrow?
  • 0:27 - 0:34
Tomorrow is the dear and proud day
    of our Tuvan language,
  • 0:35 - 0:38
    our mother tongue.
  • 0:38 - 0:43
So for everyone who can igneously
    exclaim "I am a Tuvan"
  • 0:43 - 0:48
and is anxious about their mother tongue
  • 0:48 - 0:50
I would like to recite here
  • 0:52 - 0:54
    poet Anton Üyerzhaa
  • 0:54 - 0:58
who said that melody of a forest,
  • 1:00 - 1:04
    noise of a creek,
roar of a roe deer with a child,
  • 1:04 - 1:07
    whisper of midgrass,
  • 1:07 - 1:10
    moan of the wind,
  • 1:10 - 1:12
    rumbling of a land slipping
  • 1:12 - 1:17
would sound as if speaking Tuvan.
  • 1:18 - 1:22
All the languages are equal for me,
I respect every one of them.
  • 1:22 - 1:25
    Nevertheless my mother tongue,
  • 1:25 - 1:31
a sacred spectre of mine was revealed
to me by my mother when I was two.
  • 1:31 - 1:35
    My mother tongue
resembling jaw harp is so strong.
  • 1:36 - 1:42
    Like boundless blue skies,
our whole language will remain eternal.
  • 1:42 - 1:45
So I present you all marvelous phonation
    of my Tuvan language
  • 1:45 - 1:48
as beautiful as soung of a shoor
    (Tuvan fistula)
  • 1:48 - 1:52
from the very center of Asia.
  • 1:52 - 1:54
    And I am gladsome
for having presented it to you
  • 1:54 - 2:00
in poetry with my humble throat and voice.
  • 2:00 - 2:03
Possessing such a beautiful clean air,
  • 2:04 - 2:09
sweet breeze, high taiga, spring waters,
  • 2:09 - 2:13
    Ene-Say (Yenisey) flowing
    for hundreds of years…
  • 2:13 - 2:19
    ... people of mother river,
    father river, great river -
  • 2:19 - 2:25
if you don't live in a great,
    high-minded manner, then who will?
  • 2:26 - 2:31
If we don't speak our beautiful language
that sounds like a shoor, then who will?
  • 2:32 - 2:36
To my Tuvans of Ene-Say great river
  • 2:38 - 2:42
living in hold of wide high
    Sayan-Tandy mountains,
  • 2:44 - 2:48
    I wish you great happiness,
  • 2:49 - 2:56
    fine blessing, white spirits
    of the sea of learning!
  • 2:57 - 3:01
    Like boundless blue skies,
my Tuvan language will stay eternal.
  • 3:02 - 3:04
    Thank you!
