In this video i discuss being older and having an eating disorder. First and foremost I want you to know that you don't have to be a specific age to have an eating disorder.

I can honestly tell you that there are women and men of all ages reaching out to me asking about this. I personally have worked with women in their mid 50's. Mental health issues can and do occur in all stages of life. Can a child be depressed? Yes. Can a senior citizen be depressed? Yes. So why can't an older person have an eating disorder. I think a lot of people who are older and dealing with eating disorders feel shame and often think "This is a "young person's" problem. I want to help end the stigma of eating disorders for people of all ages. So, if you are reading this and you happen to be older than what you think is "normal" to have an eating disorder, know this: you are not alone, you can recovery and I am here to help you if you need it.
