How to solve the plastic waste issue in the world? Gerben Stouten has cooked up an answer. As a PhD student for Environmental Biotechnology at Delft University, he helped develop a method by which our waste water can be transformed into usable plastics. He then took his idea to the world's largest candy factory and convinced them to use this bioplastics in their candy wrappers.
With this talk, Gerben Stouten won the TEDxAmsterdam Award 2014.
