    Wisdom, Kindness and Peace -
    the True Wealth of Humanity
  • 0:17 - 0:18
    2 April 2020
    (with subtitles)
  • 0:20 - 0:26
Namaste, welcome back. This is Mooji here.
  • 0:26 - 0:32
I am sitting in my room in my little hut,
  • 0:32 - 0:38
and I am answering, or endeavouring to answer,
  • 0:38 - 0:42
some of the many letters that
come to me at this time,
  • 0:42 - 0:49
    during the COVID-19 challenges that
we are having around the world.
  • 0:49 - 0:57
I offered up some space for a week that
people could write in to me
  • 0:57 - 1:02
and I would try and address their letters.
  • 1:02 - 1:07
So I hope you enjoy and find benefit from them.
  • 1:07 - 1:10
God bless you. Thank you so much.
  • 1:10 - 1:14
    We will go straight in.
  • 1:14 - 1:20
I will have a sip of water now.
  • 1:20 - 1:23
    Good, good.
  • 1:27 - 1:32
    'Beloved Father,
    Please accept our immense gratitude,
  • 1:32 - 1:35
love and joy of the Self,
  • 1:35 - 1:39
which is found in our hearts profoundly,
    by your grace.
  • 1:39 - 1:44
Father, we have been affected financially
    by this recent calamity,
  • 1:44 - 1:48
but we are so pleased to report that,
    by your grace,
  • 1:48 - 1:50
we are able to taste and witness
  • 1:50 - 1:54
    this miraculous stillness within,
    more than before,
  • 1:54 - 2:00
while the surface is being shaken strongly.
  • 2:00 - 2:07
Thank you so very much for being here,
    shining your light upon Earth.
  • 2:07 - 2:11
Please keep burning every impurity left inside,
  • 2:11 - 2:17
and merge us fully with you!
    Ever with you as one.'
  • 2:17 - 2:21
And this is a family that has come to visit me.
  • 2:21 - 2:29
    They are a beautiful family,
and I am very happy to see you all,
  • 2:29 - 2:34
and to receive your gracious words.
  • 2:34 - 2:37
    Thank you very much.
  • 2:37 - 2:44
    Now, it says here,
    'We have been affected financially
  • 2:44 - 2:48
    by this recent calamity,
but we are so pleased to report that,
  • 2:48 - 2:52
    by your grace,
we are able to taste and witness
  • 2:52 - 2:56
    this miraculous stillness within,
    more than before,
  • 2:56 - 2:59
while the surface is being shaken strongly'.
  • 2:59 - 3:01
And this is often the kind of paradox
  • 3:01 - 3:08
    and the seeming contradictions that
    can appear in life.
  • 3:08 - 3:18
    Who would have thought that
a challenge or a calamity of this enormity
  • 3:18 - 3:24
would produce such richness of human spirit?
  • 3:24 - 3:26
Because here is a family who is saying,
  • 3:26 - 3:31
    'We have been affected financially
    by this recent calamity'.
  • 3:31 - 3:36
And many people are in the same boat.
  • 3:36 - 3:39
    They are facing financial challenges.
  • 3:39 - 3:43
    Some people are just completely
out of any kind of money!
  • 3:43 - 3:49
    And they have to survive.
And I tell you, this is not ...
  • 3:49 - 3:55
Yes, perhaps, I don't think in my life time, that
  • 3:55 - 3:57
I have heard of any calamity which
  • 3:57 - 4:03
has involved the whole world in one sweep,
    such as this.
  • 4:03 - 4:08
But I want to tell you that
trying times are nothing new to this planet,
  • 4:08 - 4:11
and to the human beings of this Earth.
  • 4:11 - 4:14
    Throughout history,
    going back thousands of years,
  • 4:14 - 4:22
    different things have come,
plagues and big diseases have come.
  • 4:22 - 4:27
One wiped out half of Europe one time,
    so many people died.
  • 4:27 - 4:34
    And in many places
    there have been catastrophic events
  • 4:34 - 4:39
in the human kingdom and the human history!
  • 4:39 - 4:41
It is not the first time.
  • 4:41 - 4:45
    But an event that
has really engulfed the whole world,
  • 4:45 - 4:50
    I don't think
I have heard of anything like this before.
  • 4:50 - 4:55
People have been pressed into very hard times,
    even in our time,
  • 4:55 - 5:01
    during wars,
people have been shifted out of their own lands,
  • 5:01 - 5:05
    into other countries,
where they have to start all over again,
  • 5:05 - 5:09
where they don't know the language,
they don't know anything at all.
  • 5:09 - 5:13
All these put a tremendous pressure
    on the human spirit.
  • 5:13 - 5:21
And I have to say that, in spite of that,
  • 5:21 - 5:28
it is as though the human spirit
    needs the challenges, the pressures,
  • 5:28 - 5:34
in order to evolve, to grow and to mature!
  • 5:34 - 5:43
It is like we need this to grow,
in the way that we need to.
  • 5:43 - 5:46
And I see this as a gift from God.
  • 5:46 - 5:50
I don't want to say that
the strong things that happen to us
  • 5:50 - 5:53
come from Satan, from the devil, and so on!
  • 5:53 - 5:57
    I put Satan ...
His power is not so great!
  • 5:57 - 6:03
I think if you look from a higher way,
they come from the Divine itself,
  • 6:03 - 6:08
    to help us to
face the demons within our own self!
  • 6:08 - 6:12
And to overcome the influence of dark energies
  • 6:12 - 6:17
which cause us to do many things,
    very dark things!
  • 6:17 - 6:27
Something of the magnitude of this coronavirus,
    for instance,
  • 6:27 - 6:34
    is devastating in its impact,
because it comes in one big swoop.
  • 6:34 - 6:39
But in all these little ways,
human beings in our own distortions,
  • 6:39 - 6:42
in our own judgements, fears, and the wars,
  • 6:42 - 6:45
add up to something much much greater, actually,
  • 6:45 - 6:47
    than the impact of coronavirus.
  • 6:47 - 6:51
These are not easy things to hear,
    but they are true!
  • 6:51 - 6:56
And I would have to say that,
this is why I see this
  • 6:56 - 7:00
not just as a kind of punishment or something,
  • 7:00 - 7:05
but more as a corrective measure
    offered to the human kingdom,
  • 7:05 - 7:12
not just to ask us to change,
    we are compelled to change!
  • 7:12 - 7:16
    So I don't look upon this ...
I look at it with great concern,
  • 7:16 - 7:19
I'm very saddened by the number of lives
  • 7:19 - 7:24
that have to leave the planet like this,
  • 7:24 - 7:32
but I also see a great opportunity
    for life on this planet.
  • 7:32 - 7:36
So many of us have children.
Young children are born every day!
  • 7:36 - 7:40
And there isn't a planet for them to grow up on!
  • 7:40 - 7:45
If we change our ways now,
    if we become more conscious,
  • 7:45 - 7:48
and life is helping us sometimes,
  • 7:48 - 7:52
because it is not waiting for us
to be cozily ready to change,
  • 7:52 - 7:54
    it is imposing change!
  • 7:54 - 7:57
And some things happen so powerfully that,
  • 7:57 - 8:02
you don't have time to learn,
    but just to change!
  • 8:02 - 8:09
But we are an intelligent species,
and we must also learn by will!
  • 8:09 - 8:18
We must also learn and change by will,
    and by, I would say,
  • 8:18 - 8:23
    the nobleness and the integrity
    of the true human spirit.
  • 8:23 - 8:29
We must care more for ourselves,
    for our families, our friends,
  • 8:29 - 8:32
    our strangers, our planet.
  • 8:32 - 8:35
    We must do this.
  • 8:35 - 8:41
So here are a few words from a family,
    a very close family,
  • 8:41 - 8:43
    who are saying that,
  • 8:43 - 8:47
    although they are financially challenged
    very, very deeply,
  • 8:47 - 8:50
    because of the very calamity,
  • 8:50 - 8:55
they are pleased to report that,
they are able to taste and witness
  • 8:55 - 9:00
    the miraculous stillness within,
    even more than before.
  • 9:00 - 9:08
Nobody can put a price on peace,
    on stillness, joy and contentment.
  • 9:08 - 9:12
This is the real wealth of the human experience!
  • 9:12 - 9:18
    Not just perishable things,
    but the wealth of kindness,
  • 9:18 - 9:21
    peace and good will,
  • 9:21 - 9:28
of compassion, wisdom and inner silence.
  • 9:28 - 9:31
All this is the wealth that we are missing
  • 9:31 - 9:34
    while we pursue perishable things!
  • 9:38 - 9:43
'Thank you so very much for being here,
    shining your light upon Earth.
  • 9:43 - 9:48
Please keep burning every impurity left inside us,
  • 9:48 - 9:52
and merge us fully in the Truth you are.'
  • 9:52 - 10:00
This is a beautiful letter here.
  • 10:00 - 10:06
    A wise person doesn't ask,
'Give me, give me, give me things!'
  • 10:06 - 10:11
But rather, 'Burn that which is impure in me.
Help me to get rid of it,
  • 10:11 - 10:20
to detox, not just from physical things that
    I need to detox from,
  • 10:20 - 10:24
that is good also, but detox from bad thinking.
  • 10:24 - 10:27
Detox from jealousy, fear and envy,
  • 10:27 - 10:32
    detox from murderous thinking
    and dark thinking!
  • 10:32 - 10:35
Let me be rid of this impurity,
  • 10:35 - 10:40
so that we can be merged
in the supreme Self of the universe.'
  • 10:40 - 10:44
    A wonderful letter.
    Thank you so much. Wonderful.
  • 10:50 - 10:53
    'Beloved Mooji,
    Let me begin by saying,
  • 10:53 - 10:57
I'm fully established in the heart
    as the Is-ness.'
  • 10:57 - 11:01
When we say Is-ness we mean
that which is real inside us,
  • 11:01 - 11:09
as What Is, as the spirit of Truth.
  • 11:09 - 11:12
'I'm fully established in the heart as Is-ness,
  • 11:12 - 11:16
    and I am so grateful
    for the recent satsang season.
  • 11:16 - 11:21
It came at a critical time
    to prepare me for now!
  • 11:21 - 11:28
I am a nurse in the USA,
and currently we are facing a great challenge.
  • 11:28 - 11:31
I am not afraid of death.
  • 11:31 - 11:37
    This being has been blessed
to be involved in end of life care,
  • 11:37 - 11:40
    for the last ten years.
  • 11:40 - 11:43
I would like to ask you for your understanding
  • 11:43 - 11:46
of the 'Revelation' book of the Bible,
  • 11:46 - 11:50
and how we may use this understanding.
  • 11:50 - 11:55
I find so much wisdom and solace in the Bible.
  • 11:55 - 12:02
Much love to you and all the sangha.
    Cathy from Florida.'
  • 12:02 - 12:07
    It is good and refreshing,
to hear the voice of an intelligent human being
  • 12:07 - 12:11
saying, 'I am not afraid of death'.
  • 12:11 - 12:15
    'I am not inviting death,
but I am not afraid of death.'
  • 12:15 - 12:20
I remember, my own mother wrote me a letter,
  • 12:20 - 12:23
the most intimate of the letters
    I have received from her,
  • 12:23 - 12:28
    and she said,
  • 12:28 - 12:31
    'I am ready to leave.
  • 12:31 - 12:35
I am not wanting to leave,
but I feel I am ready,
  • 12:35 - 12:42
    because much of my life
I spent collecting burdens, for much of it.'
  • 12:42 - 12:48
But now her heart is right with God.
    She is happy.
  • 12:48 - 12:53
'If I have to leave, I am happy to leave now.'
  • 12:53 - 12:57
But Cathy from Florida is not saying that.
    She is saying,
  • 12:57 - 12:59
'I am simply not afraid of death'.
  • 12:59 - 13:03
She said that she has been blessed to be involved
  • 13:03 - 13:07
in end of life care, for the last ten years.
  • 13:07 - 13:12
    There are many people
who are working in this field,
  • 13:12 - 13:20
who are sometimes the last face that
your loved ones, or yourself, may see
  • 13:20 - 13:25
before leaving the light of this kingdom,
    the human kingdom.
  • 13:25 - 13:29
And I know some of them. They are very kind!
  • 13:29 - 13:35
God puts them in this place to serve you!
  • 13:35 - 13:37
    Because many people,
  • 13:37 - 13:42
    sometimes elderly people,
    sometimes younger people,
  • 13:42 - 13:45
    their parents have passed,
    or their children have passed,
  • 13:45 - 13:49
or they've got no relatives around, and so on.
  • 13:49 - 13:51
And in a moment like this, you may think,
  • 13:51 - 13:55
the most intimate moment in life,
  • 13:55 - 14:00
    the most ...
  • 14:00 - 14:02
    What would I say now?
  • 14:02 - 14:07
    One of the strongest moments
    is the moment of departing,
  • 14:07 - 14:10
or we think it's like that.
  • 14:10 - 14:13
    Sometimes the face of
    people like Cathy and others
  • 14:13 - 14:18
are those who come to serve you
    as you leave here.
  • 14:18 - 14:24
    And others come
as you are entering your new dimension,
  • 14:24 - 14:26
    they will come like that.
  • 14:26 - 14:31
    So Cathy continues,
'I would like to ask for your understanding
  • 14:31 - 14:34
of the 'Revelation' book of the Bible,
  • 14:34 - 14:38
and how we may use this understanding'.
  • 14:38 - 14:42
Myself, I have to say that, I read the Bible
  • 14:42 - 14:48
when I grew up in a very strong ...
Not very strong in my personal way,
  • 14:48 - 14:51
but I would say that growing up in Jamaica,
  • 14:51 - 14:54
Jamaica is a very Christian country,
    and in fact,
  • 14:54 - 15:00
it is said that, we have more churches
than anywhere else in the world,
  • 15:00 - 15:03
    more churches per square mile.
  • 15:03 - 15:06
    These are not grand churches,
    they are not cathedrals.
  • 15:06 - 15:09
Sometimes it's just someone's front room,
  • 15:09 - 15:12
sometimes it's somebody's little outer house,
  • 15:12 - 15:16
they've turned it into a church
and they go and worship there.
  • 15:16 - 15:18
    That's called a church.
  • 15:18 - 15:23
So we grew up with the Christian environment,
  • 15:23 - 15:27
and when I went to England in 1969,
  • 15:27 - 15:33
I continued attending my mother's church,
    the Seventh-day Adventist church.
  • 15:33 - 15:37
So we are very familiar with the Bible.
But I have to tell you,
  • 15:37 - 15:46
    when I really was transformed,
  • 15:46 - 15:49
    it happened in 1987,
  • 15:49 - 15:59
    when I said that,
I met God as reality inside my heart.
  • 15:59 - 16:04
    Then, actually, at that period,
    I read the entire Bible,
  • 16:04 - 16:07
    from cover to cover.
  • 16:07 - 16:09
Not because I felt it was my duty,
  • 16:09 - 16:13
there was just some powerful urge in me
    to do that.
  • 16:13 - 16:18
I'm not someone who reads books much.
    I'm not attracted to words.
  • 16:18 - 16:25
    I'm more attracted to images;
I was an artist for a long time.
  • 16:25 - 16:29
But the Bible, at that time,
was the living book for me.
  • 16:29 - 16:32
And so I read it from cover to cover.
  • 16:32 - 16:36
    I didn't absorb everything,
    there are some favourites there,
  • 16:36 - 16:38
parts that I love very much.
  • 16:38 - 16:43
But I was not drawn so deeply
    towards the book of 'Revelation'.
  • 16:43 - 16:45
    I don't know why.
  • 16:45 - 16:47
    But many people are,
  • 16:47 - 16:51
    and many churches
stress so strongly the end of times,
  • 16:51 - 16:53
    and how things will be,
  • 16:53 - 16:57
and the seven horsemen of the apocalypse.
  • 16:57 - 16:59
And they speak about this kind of thing.
  • 16:59 - 17:02
I have not been concerned so much about that.
  • 17:02 - 17:05
I met God in a much kinder way.
  • 17:05 - 17:14
I met God as the living spirit of Truth,
    peace, love and mercy.
  • 17:14 - 17:17
And that is the God that I have known.
  • 17:17 - 17:21
    So the end of times
are spoken of in other religions also.
  • 17:21 - 17:25
From India we learn that this age,
  • 17:25 - 17:29
it has been going on for quite a long time,
they call it the Kali Yuga,
  • 17:29 - 17:33
a time of great darkness and challenges.
  • 17:33 - 17:38
Any intelligent human being will look and say,
  • 17:38 - 17:42
'We can't be far from those times,
    it is happening already!
  • 17:42 - 17:45
    So many terrible things
    are happening on the planet,
  • 17:45 - 17:48
and so many things are happening all at once.
  • 17:48 - 17:52
    The weather is going berserk.
    So many things are happening.'
  • 17:52 - 17:55
I would also like to remind you that,
  • 17:55 - 17:59
as a result of this present calamity that
    is taking place,
  • 17:59 - 18:03
    human beings
are forced to stay at home, largely.
  • 18:03 - 18:08
    So the fuel emissions,
the dangerous emissions of fuel and toxic gases,
  • 18:08 - 18:13
the waste and all the things that
we pour into the oceans and the rivers,
  • 18:13 - 18:17
    and how we pollute ...
and rape the forests of the Earth,
  • 18:17 - 18:20
which are like the lungs of the planet,
    and so on,
  • 18:20 - 18:22
    has stopped, for now!
  • 18:22 - 18:29
And what we are seeing is a recovery,
by the Earth, that is astonishing.
  • 18:29 - 18:32
So many wonderful signs are here.
  • 18:32 - 18:36
And as I have spoken before,
    I walk outside now,
  • 18:36 - 18:39
    because our quarantine time
    has stopped for the moment.
  • 18:39 - 18:43
    We are still obeying
    many restrictions on that,
  • 18:43 - 18:47
but we are more free than we were ourselves
in the last couple of weeks.
  • 18:47 - 18:51
We can step outside and be ...
    We have a forest nearby.
  • 18:51 - 18:55
I can see that the skies
    are brilliant cobalt blue skies
  • 18:55 - 18:59
    and fluffy white clean clouds,
  • 18:59 - 19:03
and the air smells like rain, fresh and crisp!
  • 19:03 - 19:08
And I see that the plants are healthy,
they are not covered in sickness,
  • 19:08 - 19:10
    and the earth feels rich.
  • 19:10 - 19:13
Some earth, you can almost put in your mouth!
  • 19:13 - 19:16
I see many good signs, and I continue to see
  • 19:16 - 19:19
many good things happening around the world,
  • 19:19 - 19:22
such as, rivers that were polluted
    for a long time,
  • 19:22 - 19:25
dolphins are swimming in the rivers!
  • 19:25 - 19:28
    People are astonished,
    'What's going on here?'
  • 19:28 - 19:30
It's saying that the Earth is responding.
  • 19:30 - 19:34
It's detoxing from much of the filth that
    we push upon it,
  • 19:34 - 19:42
upon the very Earth that takes care of us,
    without which we cannot live.
  • 19:42 - 19:49
    I see wonderful signs there,
of detoxing, of returning to harmony.
  • 19:49 - 19:51
    Many things we see.
  • 19:51 - 19:55
And I hope this is happening also
    for human beings,
  • 19:55 - 19:58
    that we are detoxing also,
    in our hearts and minds,
  • 19:58 - 20:02
our spirit and being is being ...
  • 20:02 - 20:06
We feel, of course, under tremendous stress
    and crisis at the moment,
  • 20:06 - 20:13
but often these things produce wonderful results
    inside the human heart.
  • 20:13 - 20:16
We don't like it, our minds don't like it,
  • 20:16 - 20:21
    because we are used to
a certain idea of freedom that
  • 20:21 - 20:25
we are now not able to enjoy,
in the way that we take for granted.
  • 20:25 - 20:29
    That's one of the things.
We take a lot of things for granted.
  • 20:29 - 20:33
    But right now
we can't take many things for granted.
  • 20:33 - 20:37
And I feel that this kind of pressure,
    throughout human history,
  • 20:37 - 20:41
    has helped human beings.
It gave them the chance to stop, to reflect,
  • 20:41 - 20:46
    to grow, to deepen,
to discover a deeper truth about what we are,
  • 20:46 - 20:49
and our purpose on this planet.
  • 20:49 - 20:56
So again, like I say, for me, 'Revelation' means,
  • 20:56 - 21:01
whatever is going to take place on the planet,
    in the world,
  • 21:01 - 21:04
God has got it, for me.
  • 21:04 - 21:09
And we don't have to worry.
I don't want to be blind.
  • 21:09 - 21:13
I'm not closing my eyes and saying,
    'I don't want to look'.
  • 21:13 - 21:15
I look very much, and I see plenty!
  • 21:15 - 21:19
And I have also had a taste of it,
to see what it can be,
  • 21:19 - 21:21
how human beings can be unkind,
  • 21:21 - 21:27
how they can speak many bad things,
    lies and deceitful things,
  • 21:27 - 21:30
with the intent to harm each other!
  • 21:30 - 21:33
And how people kill each other!
  • 21:33 - 21:38
So many things, they neglect their children,
they poison people and so on.
  • 21:38 - 21:41
    I have seen these things.
  • 21:44 - 21:50
I just want to tell you,
because I don't know if your last statement,
  • 21:50 - 21:54
    you say,
'I find so much wisdom and solace in the Bible',
  • 21:54 - 21:57
    if you are directing that
    to the book of 'Revelation'.
  • 21:57 - 22:00
All the books of the Bible share something,
  • 22:00 - 22:02
speak something to our human nature.
  • 22:02 - 22:10
They give us a chance to reflect, to change,
    to harmonise, and so on.
  • 22:10 - 22:14
So, with that being said, you close by saying,
  • 22:14 - 22:20
'Much love to you and all the sangha.
    Cathy from Florida.'
  • 22:20 - 22:22
    Thank you, Cathy. Thank you.
  • 22:22 - 22:25
And thank you for all the work that you do
  • 22:25 - 22:29
in helping to say goodbye in the best way,
  • 22:29 - 22:33
to people whose time has come
    to leave this dimension,
  • 22:33 - 22:42
and to go into God's next play.
  • 22:44 - 22:47
    OK. Here we go.
  • 22:47 - 22:52
'Beloved Mooji, thank you for giving us
the opportunity to write to you.
  • 22:52 - 22:54
    Such a blessing.
  • 22:54 - 22:58
I heard about you a few weeks ago,
    on the 21st of February.
  • 22:58 - 23:02
I saw a video from a satsang in Rishikesh,
  • 23:02 - 23:07
and in my heart it was immediately clear,
    ''You are That''.
  • 23:07 - 23:11
I was crying all week long with joy.
  • 23:11 - 23:16
Now, every day, I just sit. I close my eyes,
  • 23:16 - 23:23
and I fall, in one moment, into this emptiness,
    full of peace!'
  • 23:23 - 23:25
    Wonderful.
  • 23:25 - 23:30
'I could stay all day with closed eyes.
  • 23:30 - 23:33
    Time doesn't exist anymore.
  • 23:33 - 23:38
I feel love, compassion and gratitude.
  • 23:38 - 23:41
    I belong to everything!
  • 23:41 - 23:43
    Thoughts are coming and going.
  • 23:43 - 23:47
But now I know where home is.
  • 23:47 - 23:53
    Sometimes I still get lost,
but now I know the way back home.
  • 23:53 - 23:56
    It is so easy!
  • 23:56 - 24:02
    My question is,
why does God play this game with us?
  • 24:02 - 24:09
If it is so easy, why do we all get lost,
    life after life?
  • 24:09 - 24:18
    Thank you. Om Shanti.
    Bandhu (Roberto Rossi)
  • 24:18 - 24:22
P.S. I've meditated for many years,
  • 24:22 - 24:28
but I feel now, my time to jump is coming.
    I love you.'
  • 24:28 - 24:33
OK. Where can I pick this up?
  • 24:39 - 24:44
OK. 'I could stay all day with closed eyes.'
  • 24:44 - 24:51
    It feels like that.
You don't have to stay all day with closed eyes.
  • 24:51 - 24:59
There is something that sees even closed eyes,
    from inside.
  • 24:59 - 25:02
You say, 'Time doesn't exist anymore'.
  • 25:02 - 25:04
That is, in the place of the real,
  • 25:04 - 25:09
    time is also
  • 25:09 - 25:17
not that which you read by a clock.
  • 25:17 - 25:23
    So time doesn't exist.
Your mind is in so much harmony and peace,
  • 25:23 - 25:27
there is no thought about time and change.
  • 25:27 - 25:30
You say, 'I feel love, compassion and gratitude.
  • 25:30 - 25:32
    I belong to everything.'
  • 25:32 - 25:39
It is another way of saying,
'I feel in harmony with all that exists'.
  • 25:39 - 25:44
    'Thoughts are coming and going,
but now I know where home is.'
  • 25:44 - 25:49
'The thoughts are coming and going,
but now I know where home is.'
  • 25:49 - 26:01
    Home is where?
Home is no longer just a house of bricks or wood
  • 26:01 - 26:10
and stone, and metal, and a roof.
    It's not just that home.
  • 26:10 - 26:14
    This is a deeper home.
This is a home that is my Self!
  • 26:14 - 26:20
    My home is my Self!
  • 26:20 - 26:24
    Not even just my body.
Your body is also a home.
  • 26:24 - 26:28
Your body is also a home.
  • 26:28 - 26:31
    You can have a house.
You can live in a house,
  • 26:31 - 26:36
somebody may come and knock on your door,
    you are not there.
  • 26:36 - 26:40
    But your body, generally,
    if somebody recognises your body,
  • 26:40 - 26:44
    and they come,
you are pretty much likely to be there.
  • 26:44 - 26:47
That's the home that people generally talk about
  • 26:47 - 26:50
    when they're developing
    some spiritual consciousness,
  • 26:50 - 26:54
    some awareness of themself.
They say, 'This is my house.
  • 26:54 - 26:59
I live in the house, but I am not the house.'
    Some people even say that.
  • 26:59 - 27:06
But the home, the true home,
is actually not a physical place,
  • 27:06 - 27:13
but the place of your spiritual heart.
  • 27:13 - 27:22
Home is the place where you are free.
  • 27:22 - 27:28
    You are not growing old.
  • 27:28 - 27:30
    You are not sick.
  • 27:30 - 27:33
    It can never be sick.
  • 27:33 - 27:37
    It never dies.
  • 27:37 - 27:40
    It is pure consciousness.
  • 27:40 - 27:47
This is your reality, the true home.
  • 27:47 - 27:51
'Sometimes', you say, Roberto, or Bandhu,
  • 27:51 - 27:57
    'Sometimes I still get lost,
but now I know the way back home.
  • 27:57 - 27:59
    It is so easy.'
  • 27:59 - 28:03
    Some great beings,
it's not that they know the way back home,
  • 28:03 - 28:07
because they are never away from home!
  • 28:07 - 28:11
There are some people who say,
'Now I know how to go back home.
  • 28:11 - 28:16
    Especially when trouble is coming,
when I'm tired and weary, I go home.'
  • 28:16 - 28:23
    But some beings know that
they and home mean the same thing.
  • 28:23 - 28:25
So they are never apart from home.
  • 28:25 - 28:33
Home and themself are the same thing.
  • 28:33 - 28:40
So you say, 'It is so easy'.
I say, yes, it is so natural.
  • 28:40 - 28:48
    'My question', you say now,
'Why does God play this game with us?'
  • 28:48 - 28:54
Once, I remember a man, he was saying ...
He was a little bit frustrated.
  • 28:54 - 28:56
    I said, 'Are you OK?'
  • 28:56 - 28:58
    He said, 'I don't know.
  • 28:58 - 29:03
    I just feel like
God is constantly playing with me,
  • 29:03 - 29:10
    playing about with me!'
He said it in a very disappointed way.
  • 29:10 - 29:15
    I said,
Actually, I don't think God is playing with you,
  • 29:15 - 29:20
I feel like God is playing as you.
  • 29:20 - 29:24
He was very surprised to hear that.
  • 29:24 - 29:27
I don't think he fully grasped what that meant.
  • 29:27 - 29:33
But somehow, it felt like a great space
had opened up inside his heart.
  • 29:33 - 29:37
He said, 'Whoa, I'm not just some thing that
    is being flicked around
  • 29:37 - 29:40
    by the fingers of God'.
  • 29:40 - 29:43
'The God Self is also in me.
  • 29:43 - 29:47
    And that one is playing,
    appearing and pretending to be
  • 29:47 - 29:50
    a human being going about,
    this kind of stuff.
  • 29:50 - 29:54
And in all of my plays, even when I am deluded
  • 29:54 - 29:58
and I think I am doing something only for myself,
    selfishly,
  • 29:58 - 30:04
somehow, my actions still serve God!'
  • 30:04 - 30:09
    That is wonderful.
    He went away quite relieved.
  • 30:09 - 30:16
You say, 'If it is so easy,
why do we all get lost, life after life?'
  • 30:21 - 30:26
Something only becomes easy, when it is easy.
  • 30:26 - 30:30
The obvious is only obvious when it is obvious.
  • 30:30 - 30:37
    Only when we mature enough
to grasp the fundamental things of life,
  • 30:37 - 30:40
    which are, in fact,
the simplest and the most natural,
  • 30:40 - 30:42
the easiest, in some way ...
  • 30:42 - 30:46
But as we are growing up,
    our worldly conditioning ...
  • 30:46 - 30:50
We get much more complex, much more mental.
  • 30:50 - 30:53
We turn many things which are simple
    into problems.
  • 30:53 - 30:59
And then set about trying to solve the problems.
  • 30:59 - 31:04
    In this play,
we seem to get a bit lost, after a while.
  • 31:04 - 31:08
    We become lost
because we want to go by our own light,
  • 31:08 - 31:10
    by our own experience.
  • 31:10 - 31:14
We are not open to be in synchronicity,
  • 31:14 - 31:17
or to find a harmony with a higher intelligence.
  • 31:17 - 31:20
We want to do it all by ourselves.
  • 31:20 - 31:23
So after a while, you will get frustrated,
  • 31:23 - 31:27
because your intellect is not great enough
  • 31:27 - 31:30
to fathom how life really works.
  • 31:30 - 31:34
For this, we have to surrender,
    we have to be humble,
  • 31:34 - 31:38
we have to give more time to introspection,
    to contemplate, and so on.
  • 31:38 - 31:45
    Like this,
we grow in wisdom and understanding.
  • 31:45 - 31:47
Excuse me, I have to take ...
  • 31:47 - 31:52
I've had this beautiful cup of tea here
    for quite some time
  • 31:52 - 31:54
    and now it is lukewarm.
  • 31:54 - 31:59
I am having a cup of tulsi tea. Thank you.
  • 32:03 - 32:11
Thank you. So, well, I mean, that is it.
  • 32:11 - 32:13
    You close by saying,
  • 32:13 - 32:17
    'Thank you. Om Shanti.
    Bandhu (Roberto Rossi)'
  • 32:17 - 32:21
You put, 'P.S. I've meditated for many years,
  • 32:21 - 32:26
but I feel now, my time to jump is coming.
    I love you.'
  • 32:26 - 32:28
To jump is simply another idea.
  • 32:28 - 32:32
We think, 'Finally, I must make the final jump!'
  • 32:32 - 32:40
The best way I can put it,
is to stop avoiding your Self.
  • 32:40 - 32:42
That is what I would say.
  • 32:42 - 32:46
Because the deceiving mind is always jumping.
  • 32:46 - 32:50
    It's like a monkey mind,
it's always jumping for the next banana,
  • 32:50 - 32:52
to the next thing, the next thing!
  • 32:52 - 32:57
    So I call this stage,
in which most of life is lived,
  • 32:57 - 33:00
the stage of distraction, or distractedness,
  • 33:00 - 33:04
    meaning distracted from
the truth of your own Self.
  • 33:04 - 33:07
We want to find out about everybody else!
  • 33:07 - 33:10
But about yourself, you don't know.
    You only assume.
  • 33:10 - 33:15
The best way I can read these last lines,
  • 33:15 - 33:22
'I feel it is my time to jump',
I can see it only in this way,
  • 33:22 - 33:26
to jump means to jump out of avoidance,
  • 33:26 - 33:32
and to step back into my stillness,
to pay attention to my Self.
  • 33:32 - 33:38
All the very best to you Bandhu, Roberto.
    Lots of love. Thank you.
  • 33:39 - 33:45
OK. What do we have here now?
I really feel for a short one.
  • 33:45 - 33:48
Let's see how we get on with this one.
  • 33:48 - 33:52
'Dear beloved Mooji, you have touched my heart
  • 33:52 - 33:56
in such a profound way that,
silence is progressively becoming my home.'
  • 33:56 - 33:59
    What a wonderful thing,
  • 33:59 - 34:02
    when silence becomes your home!
  • 34:02 - 34:05
    Actually, home,
    even in its physical implication,
  • 34:05 - 34:09
should be a place where you feel most relaxed,
    you feel most yourself.
  • 34:09 - 34:13
    You are not performing,
you don't have to become somebody.
  • 34:13 - 34:16
You don't have to impress anyone,
    you can just relax!
  • 34:16 - 34:21
But sometimes people are not able to enjoy,
    even when by themselves!
  • 34:21 - 34:26
If you have an agitated mindset,
if you have a strong ego,
  • 34:26 - 34:30
you will not be able to enjoy this!
  • 34:30 - 34:36
    Here, Robin, she is saying,
    'You have touched my heart
  • 34:36 - 34:42
in such a profound way that
silence is progressively becoming my home'.
  • 34:42 - 34:45
What happens when your home becomes silence?
  • 34:45 - 34:50
And this home is not a home of bricks
    and mortar and stone.
  • 34:50 - 34:53
This home is inside your heart.
  • 34:53 - 34:57
Then even when you're walking about,
or you go to another country,
  • 34:57 - 34:59
    you are always at home.
  • 34:59 - 35:03
And your home is becoming a place of silence.
  • 35:03 - 35:05
    What a beautiful thing.
  • 35:05 - 35:11
    'There is this burning, Mooji,
but also some fear of losing my way,
  • 35:11 - 35:14
or becoming complacent as a seeker of Truth.'
  • 35:14 - 35:20
It is a very healthy concern to have.
  • 35:20 - 35:22
'Some fear of losing my way,
  • 35:22 - 35:26
or becoming complacent as a seeker of Truth.'
  • 35:26 - 35:32
Then if that is arising in you,
regard that as an act of grace.
  • 35:32 - 35:38
It's telling you maybe you are
indulging in some aspect of the mind that
  • 35:38 - 35:41
is not in service to Self-discovery.
  • 35:41 - 35:44
It is more taking you out,
  • 35:44 - 35:49
out into the wild lands of the senses
    and mind projections.
  • 35:49 - 35:58
So this caution is arising in you,
'Some fear of losing my way'.
  • 35:58 - 36:01
You don't want to lose your way,
    that's why you say that.
  • 36:01 - 36:06
'Or becoming complacent as a seeker of Truth',
    meaning that some people,
  • 36:06 - 36:10
they begin to discover the Truth
    inside their heart,
  • 36:10 - 36:13
but what tends to happen is that,
  • 36:13 - 36:19
they start to just enjoy the nice feelings.
  • 36:19 - 36:23
And they don't do the deeper work,
    which is to keep focus,
  • 36:23 - 36:28
not just paying attention to feelings,
    which are momentary,
  • 36:28 - 36:31
    but even looking at
    where the feelings arise from,
  • 36:31 - 36:34
and what it is that is perceiving even feelings!
  • 36:34 - 36:38
    Even the subtle things that
come up in the mind are perceived!
  • 36:38 - 36:40
What is it that perceives them?
  • 36:40 - 36:44
When these questions engage your attention,
  • 36:44 - 36:47
this is already an auspicious sign.
  • 36:47 - 36:50
Here you are going to go even more deep,
  • 36:50 - 36:55
and be more stabilised in your inner discovery.
  • 36:55 - 37:01
    I read on,
'I can confirm that both the fear of loss
  • 37:01 - 37:07
    and the seeker identity,
are relative to the idea I have of myself.
  • 37:07 - 37:11
They are Not true!' Capital N for 'Not'.
  • 37:11 - 37:15
'They are imagined images or ghosts.'
  • 37:15 - 37:18
    She is saying,
'I know that the fears that I have,
  • 37:18 - 37:22
of really losing my way, or becoming complacent,
  • 37:22 - 37:25
are not really the truth of what I am.
  • 37:25 - 37:31
    They are not the Truth.
I'm imagining them. They are only ghosts.
  • 37:31 - 37:35
There is still a seeming narrator voice here,
  • 37:35 - 37:40
    who interprets, comments and judges,
    but I'm aware of it,
  • 37:40 - 37:43
and I know that I cannot be this voice.'
  • 37:43 - 37:46
    What a wonderful recognition!
  • 37:46 - 37:52
    Listen again.
'There is still a seeming narrator voice here.'
  • 37:52 - 37:59
    The mind, the psychological mind,
    the personal ego mind,
  • 37:59 - 38:03
    is constantly chattering,
'Look at them, they don't like you'.
  • 38:03 - 38:06
    'Watch this thing here.'
    'You are doing really well.'
  • 38:06 - 38:10
    'You made a mistake.'
'No, you are going to miss out.'
  • 38:10 - 38:13
'They are not going to like you.'
    'Do this thing.'
  • 38:13 - 38:17
And this one, that you say,
    'This narrator voice
  • 38:17 - 38:21
    who is always interpreting,
    commenting and judging',
  • 38:21 - 38:26
    you know this voice,
    everybody knows this tendency inside.
  • 38:26 - 38:33
The thing is, 'But I'm aware of it,
and I know I cannot be this voice'.
  • 38:33 - 38:39
This is the trouble with many people.
    They believe in this voice!
  • 38:39 - 38:44
They believe, even though this voice is a liar,
    he is a deceiver.
  • 38:44 - 38:47
He's the devil, actually! We say like this.
  • 38:47 - 38:51
We don't have to say 'devil',
as some people don't like to hear that.
  • 38:51 - 38:56
But I say they are negative energies,
if you want to call them that,
  • 38:56 - 38:59
    the gremlins in your head
    talking, interpreting
  • 38:59 - 39:03
    and judging people,
    or putting yourself down,
  • 39:03 - 39:06
or putting other people up too high,
    or this type of thing.
  • 39:06 - 39:10
    You are aware of that.
    That is the deluded mind.
  • 39:10 - 39:14
    It's the negative mindset
    that is speaking like that.
  • 39:14 - 39:19
And you know, 'I am not this voice'.
  • 39:19 - 39:24
Still, it seems to go on!
How to get rid of it?
  • 39:24 - 39:29
You may not be immediately able
    to stop that voice.
  • 39:29 - 39:33
But you can see its unreality,
    and recognise that,
  • 39:33 - 39:39
    where you're looking from,
to notice its unreality, is a truthful place.
  • 39:39 - 39:42
And keep meditating on this place,
  • 39:42 - 39:45
which is a higher place of consciousness,
  • 39:45 - 39:50
    and be effectively dead
to the voice of what the mind says.
  • 39:50 - 39:53
This may take some time, a little practice.
  • 39:53 - 39:57
    Whenever the mind speaks,
you just turn away from it.
  • 39:57 - 40:02
    Don't follow it.
Don't drift off with this voice.
  • 40:02 - 40:04
And get a little bit more clear.
  • 40:04 - 40:07
So it tallies up with you saying that
  • 40:07 - 40:10
you have a fear of becoming complacent.
  • 40:10 - 40:16
    By listening to these voices,
    this mind, this negative mindset,
  • 40:16 - 40:20
is always trying to get you involved
    in some activity,
  • 40:20 - 40:23
so that you're distracted from paying attention
  • 40:23 - 40:26
to your natural state, your natural Self.
  • 40:26 - 40:31
    And because of this,
you will come into suffering states,
  • 40:31 - 40:35
confusion, anxiety and so on, doubts even,
  • 40:35 - 40:38
if you give too much attention to this voice.
  • 40:38 - 40:40
Every human being knows this voice
  • 40:40 - 40:45
and has the power to transcend its influence!
  • 40:45 - 40:48
Every human being has the power.
  • 40:48 - 40:56
And if you trust in God,
    if you listen and contemplate,
  • 40:56 - 41:00
and listen to the voice of messengers of God,
    then it will guide you,
  • 41:00 - 41:04
and you will develop the strength
    and the authority
  • 41:04 - 41:10
to transcend these negative mind states.
  • 41:10 - 41:13
'I choose to use everything for freedom.
  • 41:13 - 41:20
    My mother's recent passing,
    this coronavirus pandemic,
  • 41:20 - 41:23
this body that will also pass some day.
  • 41:23 - 41:28
I know nothing, nothing at all.
And I am grateful for this.'
  • 41:28 - 41:33
    Listen to this lady,
'I choose to use everything for freedom'.
  • 41:33 - 41:37
'I am putting everything in my freedom basket!'
  • 41:37 - 41:40
    'I am using every experience,
    my mother's recent passing.'
  • 41:40 - 41:44
That is a very strong thing.
    Many people fall into depression,
  • 41:44 - 41:47
    and are heavily debilitated
  • 41:47 - 41:53
    when their loved ones
have to leave their mortal frame.
  • 41:53 - 41:55
But you are saying, 'I am using that!'
  • 41:55 - 41:59
    'Even the pain of that
is helping me to find my freedom!'
  • 41:59 - 42:03
'I am using this coronavirus pandemic',
  • 42:03 - 42:07
with all of its roaring face,
''Argh! I am going to get you!''
  • 42:07 - 42:11
'I am using this also for my freedom.'
  • 42:11 - 42:15
This is very great wisdom, actually.
  • 42:15 - 42:17
'I am also using the fact that
  • 42:17 - 42:21
this body will also pass away some day,
    sooner or later.'
  • 42:21 - 42:24
'I am using it, because I am alive now.
  • 42:24 - 42:29
I am using all these testing,
    challenging phenomena,
  • 42:29 - 42:32
to actually find my way home to the Truth.'
  • 42:32 - 42:34
    How wonderful.
  • 42:34 - 42:37
She admits, 'I know nothing, nothing at all.
  • 42:37 - 42:39
And I am grateful for this.'
  • 42:39 - 42:41
    Who says this?
  • 42:41 - 42:44
    'I know nothing.'
'I can't rely on anything at all!
  • 42:44 - 42:46
    Everything seems to be changing!
  • 42:46 - 42:51
    Everything that appears, disappears.
    Everything that comes goes!
  • 42:51 - 42:54
    Something looks like that today,
    tomorrow it looks like this!'
  • 42:54 - 42:58
    'I know nothing.'
It means, 'I can depend on nothing at all!'
  • 42:58 - 43:01
That is what she is saying, Robin.
  • 43:01 - 43:05
'I can't depend on anything at all!'
  • 43:05 - 43:09
    For a long time,
you've been depending on your bank account,
  • 43:09 - 43:11
    depending on your job,
  • 43:11 - 43:14
depending on your marriage, on your children,
  • 43:14 - 43:17
you've been depending on your friends,
  • 43:17 - 43:19
you've been depending on the weather,
  • 43:19 - 43:22
you've been depending on so many things!
  • 43:22 - 43:28
    And where are they now?
    Where are they now?
  • 43:28 - 43:31
    So Robin has recognised,
  • 43:31 - 43:36
'Yes. I am not cursing the world.
    The world is beautiful.'
  • 43:36 - 43:40
I say, There is one Earth,
but there are billions of worlds,
  • 43:40 - 43:45
    because inside,
there is your own movie of your own life.
  • 43:45 - 43:47
You make your own unique world in your mind.
  • 43:47 - 43:53
And the world isn't just a physical phenomenon,
    a physical thing,
  • 43:53 - 43:57
it is a psychological thing too,
    an emotional thing.
  • 43:57 - 44:04
    So there is a saying,
'I am not really seeing the world as it truly is.
  • 44:04 - 44:07
I am seeing the world as I am.'
  • 44:07 - 44:12
These are very, very important things
    to reflect upon.
  • 44:12 - 44:15
    If you are feeling happy,
    things feel generally happy,
  • 44:15 - 44:19
you see things with happy eyes and happy heart.
  • 44:19 - 44:22
You actually bless them with your happiness.
  • 44:22 - 44:24
When you are feeling down and sad,
  • 44:24 - 44:32
    you don't even
like to see happy people, sometimes!
  • 44:32 - 44:36
'I know nothing, nothing at all.
And I am grateful for this.'
  • 44:36 - 44:38
Meaning, 'I have come to see that
  • 44:38 - 44:47
I cannot depend on material existence.
    It is not enough!'
  • 44:47 - 44:53
You may have all the money in the bank,
and you can still be unhappy.
  • 44:53 - 45:04
I say, 'There is a poverty in wealth,
and there is a wealth in poverty.
  • 45:04 - 45:07
    Can you understand this?
  • 45:07 - 45:11
Don't think because you have things,
it means that you are rich!
  • 45:11 - 45:15
Real richness is a richness of spirit,
    richness of warmth, love,
  • 45:15 - 45:22
    kindness, openness, wisdom and reflectiveness.
  • 45:22 - 45:24
    Please reflect on that.
  • 45:24 - 45:31
    Finally, 'I have no question.
I just ask if you can confirm my seeing,
  • 45:31 - 45:34
and help me to burn whatever doubt remains.
  • 45:34 - 45:38
    With deep love and gratitude.
    Robin.'
  • 45:38 - 45:40
    'I have no more questions.
  • 45:40 - 45:43
I just ask if you can confirm my seeing.'
  • 45:43 - 45:50
    What I can do is,
encourage your seeing to continue deepening,
  • 45:50 - 45:54
and deepening, and deepening, and deepening.
  • 45:54 - 46:01
Until even the concept of deepening
    is thinning away.
  • 46:01 - 46:08
You are empty of all the treasures of the mind,
    so to speak.
  • 46:08 - 46:11
And do you know what happens
when you are empty like this?
  • 46:11 - 46:16
    You become ...
You find a harmony with all of existence.
  • 46:16 - 46:20
You may not have to save up,
you are not spending from your account!
  • 46:20 - 46:24
You are plugged into the powerhouse of God.
  • 46:24 - 46:31
And you don't have to prepare,
    manoeuvre and manipulate anything,
  • 46:31 - 46:36
because you are a child of God,
    a child of the universe.
  • 46:36 - 46:40
You can move more spontaneously, more freshly,
  • 46:40 - 46:46
    more intuitively, more harmoniously.
  • 46:46 - 46:49
But it will feel like a risk to the ego
  • 46:49 - 46:54
that is always trying to make some technique
    out of life,
  • 46:54 - 47:01
    always learning how to be,
    rather than being your Self.
  • 47:01 - 47:07
So I respect and love you.
    I love your letter, Robin.
  • 47:07 - 47:13
I feel that you are a true student of Truth
  • 47:13 - 47:16
    in your dynamic self-portrait.
  • 47:16 - 47:23
    And you are also focusing
    and discovering more and more,
  • 47:23 - 47:26
and stabilising in your fundamental nature.
  • 47:26 - 47:28
    This is wonderful!
  • 47:28 - 47:31
God bless you, God bless you.
  • 47:38 - 47:43
I think I will read just one more letter today.
  • 47:46 - 47:52
    Here it goes, 'Beloved Guruji,
    Thank you for this opportunity.
  • 47:52 - 47:56
    My soul is in peace,
  • 47:56 - 47:58
knowing that God is behind the curtain
  • 47:58 - 48:01
of all happenings in the world now.
  • 48:01 - 48:03
And there is no fear for that.'
  • 48:03 - 48:08
    What a wonderful statement.
  • 48:08 - 48:10
    'My soul is at peace,
  • 48:10 - 48:13
knowing that God is behind the curtain
  • 48:13 - 48:16
of all that is happening in the world now.
  • 48:16 - 48:19
And there is no fear for that.'
  • 48:19 - 48:26
Only here will you find peace,
when the world is not in your hands!
  • 48:26 - 48:30
    Sometimes we feel,
'My life is in my own hands!'
  • 48:30 - 48:36
'My future is up to me!'
'My happiness is up to me!'
  • 48:36 - 48:46
But here is one, a young woman,
    Moni Valo from Macedonia,
  • 48:46 - 48:49
    who has come to see,
  • 48:49 - 48:53
    'My soul is in peace,
knowing that God is behind the curtain
  • 48:53 - 48:57
of all that's happening in the world now.
  • 48:57 - 49:00
And there is no fear for that.
  • 49:00 - 49:03
What causes a deep sadness in my heart,
  • 49:03 - 49:07
is to see people getting mad
    by being with each other
  • 49:07 - 49:09
    in this quarantine time.'
  • 49:09 - 49:13
    Yes, yes, yes. Much madness!
  • 49:13 - 49:17
Many people have not learnt to be alone,
  • 49:17 - 49:20
even when they are by themselves.
  • 49:20 - 49:27
They have not learnt to be alone,
    in the greater sense.
  • 49:27 - 49:30
    They feel lonely,
  • 49:30 - 49:34
but they don't know how to be alone,
    in the real sense.
  • 49:34 - 49:38
If you find people, and put people together,
  • 49:38 - 49:42
    who are not comfortable
    being alone even with themselves,
  • 49:42 - 49:46
you are going to have some trouble.
    But here is what now,
  • 49:46 - 49:49
this trouble, whatever trouble they will have,
  • 49:49 - 49:52
    whatever trouble they will have,
  • 49:52 - 49:54
is going to give them greater strength.
  • 49:54 - 49:57
But you must have the correct mentality
  • 49:57 - 50:02
    and the correct openness
for what I am speaking now.
  • 50:02 - 50:07
    Because if you go with
your bad habit of thinking, and negativity,
  • 50:07 - 50:12
    and judging and so on,
    you've missed your chance!
  • 50:12 - 50:16
Life has put you in a certain situation,
  • 50:16 - 50:20
    where you may feel that,
your hands are a little tied.
  • 50:20 - 50:24
But it is for your good. It is for your good!
  • 50:24 - 50:30
There are some people who have to be tied down,
  • 50:30 - 50:34
    otherwise they hurt themselves.
    I'm being very extreme now.
  • 50:34 - 50:38
    But these cases do exist.
There are people who have to be tied down
  • 50:38 - 50:42
    for their own good,
    otherwise they hurt themselves.
  • 50:42 - 50:44
You have not gone that far.
  • 50:44 - 50:50
Some people, the more restriction ...
    The mind fears restriction,
  • 50:50 - 50:57
but restriction often helps us to appreciate,
    to discover and to mature.
  • 50:57 - 50:59
    This is the amazing thing!
  • 50:59 - 51:05
Just in the same way that
sickness is often a kind of healing also!
  • 51:05 - 51:08
    But who tells us this?
  • 51:08 - 51:12
If you are sick, you go to a doctor,
    they push medicines on you!
  • 51:12 - 51:14
And that is the way we are used to!
  • 51:14 - 51:16
But who tells you that, sometimes,
  • 51:16 - 51:22
being sick is also a step towards healing?
    Sometimes it is a detoxing.
  • 51:22 - 51:27
When you are detoxing, you don't feel good!
    You feel terrible!
  • 51:27 - 51:33
But you are in the stage or process of healing.
  • 51:33 - 51:36
    And we must be patient.
  • 51:36 - 51:39
So this is what has happened
    for a lot of people.
  • 51:39 - 51:48
When they are put in quarantine,
they are finding it very, very difficult.
  • 51:48 - 51:53
I saw a video which someone sent
to one of the sangha members.
  • 51:53 - 51:59
And I was watching it, a funny one,
    in this quarantine time.
  • 51:59 - 52:03
Somebody was talking to a young man
    and said to him,
  • 52:03 - 52:06
'OK. Now that the quarantine time has come,
  • 52:06 - 52:13
because of the virus and so on,
you are being given one of two choices.
  • 52:13 - 52:16
A or B. You must choose.'
    And they say,
  • 52:16 - 52:25
'Option A: You must be confined
with your wife and your child.
  • 52:25 - 52:28
    And B ...'
    He says, 'B! I will take B!'
  • 52:28 - 52:31
    I found it very funny.
He didn't want to know what B was!
  • 52:31 - 52:33
He said, 'No, no, no, no.
  • 52:33 - 52:38
I don't want to be stuck at home
    with my wife and daughter.'
  • 52:38 - 52:43
    It seems, 'Whoa!'
    Sometimes people, a bit perfectionist,
  • 52:43 - 52:47
they will say, 'That is so terrible,
it's not even funny at all!'
  • 52:47 - 52:51
But many people get the fun of it!
    That sometimes ...
  • 52:51 - 52:55
I know also, one of my aunties ...
I have to be honest about it.
  • 52:55 - 53:01
She was married to her husband in England
    for many, many years.
  • 53:01 - 53:06
Some people are married for 50, 60 years.
  • 53:06 - 53:09
And they have a routine, he goes out to work,
  • 53:09 - 53:12
does his work, comes home in the evening,
  • 53:12 - 53:14
has his dinner, reads a newspaper,
  • 53:14 - 53:16
they watch some TV and go to bed.
  • 53:16 - 53:19
This has been the routine for a very long time.
  • 53:19 - 53:24
Maybe at weekends they have a bit of time.
I don't know what they do.
  • 53:24 - 53:28
    But he was made redundant.
I think he was about 50 years old.
  • 53:28 - 53:33
    He became redundant.
When he became redundant, he had to be at home.
  • 53:33 - 53:37
And in a short time, they divorced.
  • 53:37 - 53:39
They couldn't cope with each other.
  • 53:39 - 53:42
I'm sorry, I should not laugh!
    I should not laugh!
  • 53:42 - 53:48
    I don't know why,
I have a funny sense of humour.
  • 53:48 - 53:51
    I'm sorry,
because it's not a good time to laugh now,
  • 53:51 - 53:54
when many of you are having so much trouble.
  • 53:54 - 53:57
    But sometimes it is funny.
  • 53:57 - 54:02
    You, when you are quarantined,
and you have time with your family ...
  • 54:02 - 54:05
I have seen many people have found
  • 54:05 - 54:07
many wonderful things have come out of it!
  • 54:07 - 54:09
    Some people have found,
  • 54:09 - 54:13
    'My God,
I'm just beginning to appreciate my family now'.
  • 54:13 - 54:17
Sometimes they find much more creative ways
    of being together,
  • 54:17 - 54:19
    to pass the time also.
  • 54:19 - 54:23
Others, they learn to sit and to meditate.
  • 54:23 - 54:27
We have been trying to help
in this type of way also.
  • 54:27 - 54:30
And to play games, or whatever it is.
  • 54:30 - 54:32
    But even if you don't,
  • 54:32 - 54:36
    even the very hardship
of having to spend time by yourself
  • 54:36 - 54:41
is maturing you on some deeper levels that
    you may not yet appreciate.
  • 54:41 - 54:44
    It will come, gradually,
    into the consciousness later,
  • 54:44 - 54:47
'Wow, that was good for me!'
  • 54:47 - 54:50
But you won't say thanks right now.
  • 54:50 - 54:56
    So Moni is saying here,
'What causes a deep sadness in my heart,
  • 54:56 - 55:00
is to see people getting mad
    by being with each other
  • 55:00 - 55:02
    in this quarantine time,
  • 55:02 - 55:07
starting from my family, friends, relatives, etc.
  • 55:07 - 55:13
    Everyone is seeking distractions
    just to avoid each other.'
  • 55:13 - 55:15
    They are finding something ...
  • 55:15 - 55:17
    Actually, we are seeking distractions
  • 55:17 - 55:22
to avoid our self first, in fact.
  • 55:22 - 55:28
    Many people, all our lives
we have been looking for distractions,
  • 55:28 - 55:32
to avoid being with our self.
  • 55:32 - 55:35
    What does it mean?
Do you hate yourself, or what?
  • 55:35 - 55:39
    No, it means that
what we accept as our self presently,
  • 55:39 - 55:43
    is not our higher Self.
    And something inside knows it!
  • 55:43 - 55:47
The way we accept, 'This is me ...',
    is usually your ego.
  • 55:47 - 55:53
And you know, at some level,
more or less, that this is not true!
  • 55:53 - 55:55
    It is not the Truth!
  • 55:55 - 55:59
    But to face the Truth,
to meet up with the Truth,
  • 55:59 - 56:01
    something is avoiding that!
  • 56:01 - 56:06
There is an energy inside us ...
Let me call it two energy plays.
  • 56:06 - 56:09
One seems to be an energy that
  • 56:09 - 56:18
seems to be compelling us to be distracted,
to go and find things to do,
  • 56:18 - 56:23
to amuse our minds and so on,
    to distract you from something!
  • 56:23 - 56:26
    And the other energy
    is to elevate your consciousness,
  • 56:26 - 56:31
to higher and higher altitudes of functioning.
  • 56:31 - 56:35
So that you become much more deep,
    more intuitive,
  • 56:35 - 56:38
    more stable, more quiet.
  • 56:38 - 56:40
These two plays are happening in you.
  • 56:40 - 56:43
Actually, you are neither of them, absolutely.
  • 56:43 - 56:47
But they are connected with you,
    and you must use ...
  • 56:47 - 56:51
You must learn to navigate your way,
    to understand your powers
  • 56:51 - 56:53
    and to use them well.
  • 56:53 - 56:57
    So, 'Everyone is seeking distraction,
    just to avoid each other.
  • 56:57 - 56:59
    My heart is very meek.'
  • 56:59 - 57:03
    The word 'meek',
we don't hear it much in our modern language.
  • 57:03 - 57:07
'Weak' we know! But 'meek' we don't hear.
  • 57:07 - 57:14
    'Meek' means something more gentle,
    more compassionate, more ...
  • 57:14 - 57:16
    It's a lighter word.
  • 57:16 - 57:24
    'Meek and mild',
means someone who is kind and open.
  • 57:24 - 57:28
    'My heart is very meek
to witness all of this madness,
  • 57:28 - 57:32
because I experience the connections differently,
  • 57:32 - 57:36
    in a more deep way,
with true unselfish love and presence.'
  • 57:36 - 57:38
    This is the Truth!
  • 57:38 - 57:42
She knows from her own experience
  • 57:42 - 57:46
of spending time within her own Self,
  • 57:46 - 57:51
    the value of that,
the richness of that, the beauty of that.
  • 57:51 - 57:54
Maybe the people that she is speaking about
  • 57:54 - 57:57
have not, as yet, discovered the potential,
  • 57:57 - 58:01
    that potential
    and that capacity within themselves,
  • 58:01 - 58:06
that the more you are at one with your own Self,
  • 58:06 - 58:12
you observe the mind with detachment,
    or neutrality.
  • 58:12 - 58:21
Or if you are guided by
    a spiritual force within you,
  • 58:21 - 58:25
that guides you to not get invested in
  • 58:25 - 58:32
the psychological antics of the mind,
  • 58:32 - 58:35
but to observe them with detachment,
  • 58:35 - 58:40
then you will come to appreciate and enjoy,
in fact, to enjoy your Self.
  • 58:40 - 58:46
That is what it really means,
you start to enjoy your Self!
  • 58:46 - 58:50
    Not enjoy yourself doing something.
    Just enjoy your own Being.
  • 58:50 - 58:52
    That is what it means.
  • 58:52 - 58:57
That is the real meaning of,
    'To enjoy yourself'.
  • 58:57 - 58:59
    She continues, 'Every relationship
  • 58:59 - 59:03
I've had with people with a human mindset,
    has failed'.
  • 59:03 - 59:05
    What a strong thing!
  • 59:05 - 59:12
'Every relationship I have had with people
    with a human mindset',
  • 59:12 - 59:17
meaning stuck in a very personal mode,
    or mindset,
  • 59:17 - 59:19
    these relationships failed.
  • 59:19 - 59:25
And don't we know how many times
we get into relationships with people,
  • 59:25 - 59:28
    sometimes deeply romantic relationships,
  • 59:28 - 59:32
    superficially romantic relationships,
    sometimes just friendships,
  • 59:32 - 59:34
and they fall away? Why do they fall away?
  • 59:34 - 59:38
A friendship is supposed to be growing together
    more and more.
  • 59:38 - 59:40
    Why do they fall away?
  • 59:40 - 59:44
Why is it that relationships, often these days,
  • 59:44 - 59:48
they go out a few times,
after two or three months they break up?
  • 59:48 - 59:50
Because they don't have any stamina!
  • 59:50 - 59:55
Not stamina as in 'physical stamina'.
    They don't have the stamina
  • 59:55 - 60:00
    of patience, compassion and introspection,
    of their own silence.
  • 60:00 - 60:05
They can't cope with their own self,
much less cope with somebody else.
  • 60:05 - 60:07
And what is happening is that,
  • 60:07 - 60:11
    we have this fantasy
that someone else is going to make us happy.
  • 60:11 - 60:13
No, you are going to make you happy!
  • 60:13 - 60:16
God in you is going to make you happy!
  • 60:16 - 60:20
    You cannot be miserable
    and somebody makes you happy!
  • 60:20 - 60:24
If you feel like that, it won't last,
    I will tell you that!
  • 60:24 - 60:30
    So, 'Every relationship I've had
with people with a human mindset has failed.
  • 60:30 - 60:33
    And I feel so alone.'
  • 60:35 - 60:38
Be alone. But don't be lonely.
  • 60:38 - 60:43
Be alone as your own Being.
  • 60:43 - 60:51
Don't feel alone as a reaction
to the truth of seeing that,
  • 60:51 - 60:56
when people are very, very much engaged
    with their own ego,
  • 60:56 - 60:59
    they become very difficult,
  • 60:59 - 61:02
and almost incompatible with any other people.
  • 61:02 - 61:05
That is a truth! But not for everyone!
  • 61:05 - 61:09
There are many people who are flexible,
  • 61:09 - 61:12
they are not tied into any concept too rigidly,
  • 61:12 - 61:14
    they are very open-minded.
  • 61:14 - 61:18
    They can change their mind
    without feeling ashamed, or something.
  • 61:18 - 61:22
They are not in conceptual competition
    with other people,
  • 61:22 - 61:24
they are easy, flexible and very likable.
  • 61:24 - 61:26
They are very easy to be with.
  • 61:26 - 61:29
But they are not naive, they are not stupid!
  • 61:29 - 61:34
They are just great fun! And inspiring also!
  • 61:34 - 61:39
'Please give me courage to surrender
    this weak self-identity that
  • 61:39 - 61:44
    feels experientially so tangled
    in this circle of suffering.'
  • 61:44 - 61:49
    Yes.
  • 61:49 - 61:51
    Take courage.
  • 61:51 - 61:55
'Please give me courage to surrender
    this weak self-identity.'
  • 61:55 - 61:58
So it is the weak self-identity that suffers
  • 61:58 - 62:02
    from other people's weak self-identity.
  • 62:02 - 62:10
    When you are strong,
what happens is that you inspire others
  • 62:10 - 62:21
to rise up to higher regions of consciousness,
    of spirit.
  • 62:21 - 62:25
So don't be weakened by weak-minded people!
  • 62:25 - 62:30
Stay in the light that your letter started with!
  • 62:30 - 62:35
    Your letter started, remember,
    'My soul is in peace,
  • 62:35 - 62:37
knowing that God is behind the curtain
  • 62:37 - 62:40
of all that is happening in the world,
  • 62:40 - 62:43
and there is not fear for that'.
  • 62:43 - 62:46
Then why are you finishing like this?
  • 62:46 - 62:53
The first statement is more enduring
    than all your other statements!
  • 62:53 - 62:56
    The first statement,
that God is behind the curtain
  • 62:56 - 63:00
of all the happenings in the world,
    should bring you great peace.
  • 63:00 - 63:03
You said anyway, 'My soul is in peace,
  • 63:03 - 63:05
knowing that God is behind the curtain
  • 63:05 - 63:09
of all happenings in the world now,
and there is no fear for that'.
  • 63:09 - 63:12
Stay in that peace. And leave it all to God.
  • 63:12 - 63:16
Don't let your mind interpret what is happening,
  • 63:16 - 63:21
because it is often wrong. It is often wrong.
  • 63:21 - 63:24
    Don't believe what people say.
They say all kinds of things!
  • 63:24 - 63:27
They say this now, then that tomorrow.
  • 63:27 - 63:30
    They say this,
    then something else another day.
  • 63:30 - 63:33
Don't rely on what human beings just say.
  • 63:33 - 63:37
    Stay inside your heart,
    be faithful to your heart,
  • 63:37 - 63:45
and you will begin to hear God's voice in you.
  • 63:49 - 63:52
So again, these last closing words,
  • 63:52 - 63:56
    'Please give me courage
    to surrender this weak self-identity
  • 63:56 - 64:03
    that feels experientially so tangled
    in this cycle of suffering'.
  • 64:03 - 64:08
Don't give it so much importance.
  • 64:08 - 64:11
These are things that come and go,
    they come and go.
  • 64:11 - 64:15
Don't look to people for your happiness!
  • 64:15 - 64:19
    Look to God,
or look inward to your inmost Being,
  • 64:19 - 64:23
and you will begin to find
that happiness is rising up inside you.
  • 64:23 - 64:28
    Don't look to people.
    People cannot make you happy!
  • 64:28 - 64:30
    They can give you fun!
  • 64:30 - 64:33
But they cannot give you real joy
    and real happiness,
  • 64:33 - 64:38
if that happiness is not already sparked in you!
  • 64:38 - 64:41
Don't look for what people can bring you,
  • 64:41 - 64:46
look for what you can bring to them also.
  • 64:46 - 64:50
    'Elevate my consciousness
    towards its source, please.'
  • 64:50 - 64:54
    'Elevate my consciousness towards it.'
    'Draw my consciousness,
  • 64:54 - 64:58
    or elevate my consciousness
to go back home to its own source,
  • 64:58 - 65:04
    which is God,
    pure awareness, Self, the Absolute.
  • 65:04 - 65:07
The only One that there is.'
  • 65:07 - 65:12
There are not two. He has no second.
  • 65:12 - 65:16
    He is one without two.
  • 65:16 - 65:19
He is the only one that exists.
  • 65:19 - 65:22
All this existence is His play.
  • 65:22 - 65:28
And nothing is apart from Him.
Not one atom exists apart from Him.
  • 65:28 - 65:30
    'Love you Father.'
  • 65:30 - 65:32
    Thank you.
  • 65:32 - 65:38
    Thank you for your attention
and the time that you are spending like this.
  • 65:38 - 65:40
I hope by reading these letters ...
  • 65:40 - 65:44
As I'm reading them, in fact,
I know in my heart that
  • 65:44 - 65:46
    this is a good thing.
  • 65:46 - 65:49
It gives some space to your voice,
  • 65:49 - 65:53
how you are feeling at this moment in your life.
  • 65:53 - 65:58
And that you can draw strength and go deeper.
  • 65:58 - 66:02
A human life is a very, very powerful thing!
  • 66:02 - 66:07
All the things that you can get in this world,
    externally,
  • 66:07 - 66:13
cannot compare to what you can find internally!
  • 66:13 - 66:19
Spend some time, and now is a good time,
    the best time of all!
  • 66:19 - 66:21
    You have internet access,
  • 66:21 - 66:25
you can try a little bit there
to find anything on the subject,
  • 66:25 - 66:28
    'How can I find peace?'
'How can I wake up to my Self?'
  • 66:28 - 66:30
    'How can I realise God?'
  • 66:30 - 66:36
There are many, many people's voices that
    can guide you.
  • 66:36 - 66:39
    I am one of them.
  • 66:39 - 66:44
And try and listen with your heart.
  • 66:44 - 66:49
    You don't need to listen
to anything too complex or too mental.
  • 66:49 - 66:55
Listen to what speaks to your heart,
    and follow that.
  • 66:55 - 67:00
Marinate in the things that resonate with you.
  • 67:00 - 67:05
    And by and by,
you will find that your time at home
  • 67:05 - 67:12
    transforms from prison to paradise!
  • 67:12 - 67:16
The mind wants to take it as a prison.
    'You are imprisoned.'
  • 67:16 - 67:20
    No, you are in paradise!
Where is paradise? In your room only?
  • 67:20 - 67:23
No, it is inside your heart.
  • 67:23 - 67:28
So I close today with this blessing that
each and every one of you,
  • 67:28 - 67:32
whether you understand these letters ...
  • 67:32 - 67:37
Many of these letters are written by people
    who are already
  • 67:37 - 67:44
walking a spiritual path of Self-discovery,
    of God-realisation.
  • 67:44 - 67:48
And I am addressing many letters like that.
  • 67:48 - 67:51
But don't think these letters are not about you.
  • 67:51 - 67:56
Every single one is about you
    because fundamentally, you are consciousness.
  • 67:56 - 68:01
    And these conversations,
    these talks, these responses,
  • 68:01 - 68:09
    are consciousness responding to consciousness
    about consciousness.
  • 68:09 - 68:13
It is consciousness responding to consciousness
  • 68:13 - 68:19
about the God universe that we exist in, and as,
  • 68:19 - 68:25
and it is our fundamental nature.
  • 68:25 - 68:28
    So make use of this.
  • 68:28 - 68:39
Continue to abide by the instructions
    given by the governments,
  • 68:39 - 68:42
and by the helping groups, the nurses,
  • 68:42 - 68:47
the many fine nurses and doctors
who have given up so much
  • 68:47 - 68:51
to support your physical health at this time.
  • 68:51 - 68:55
    And also the many people,
    psychologists and so on,
  • 68:55 - 68:58
who are themselves also offering advice to people
  • 68:58 - 69:01
at the level that you can make use of.
  • 69:01 - 69:06
    And all the teachers,
all the teachers in the world,
  • 69:06 - 69:10
the preachers and the prophets who are around
  • 69:10 - 69:14
to help to guide mankind at this time,
    for those who are open.
  • 69:14 - 69:18
Find a voice that resonates with you,
  • 69:18 - 69:25
and that helps you to feel not afraid,
    but encouraged,
  • 69:25 - 69:30
    and feel courage,
and feel not just hope only, hope too,
  • 69:30 - 69:36
but feel invigorated and inspired also,
that your life is not over.
  • 69:36 - 69:39
    It will never be over,
in the true sense of the word!
  • 69:39 - 69:41
    I hope that you understand,
  • 69:41 - 69:45
    having listened to my responses
to some of the letters today.
  • 69:45 - 69:48
All the very best to you that I can wish,
  • 69:48 - 69:51
whoever you are, and wherever you may be.
  • 69:51 - 69:54
    I pray for and bless
all the governments of the world
  • 69:54 - 69:56
    and all the world leaders,
  • 69:56 - 70:00
all the presidents and prime ministers,
    all of them!
  • 70:00 - 70:03
That they may receive the grace of God
  • 70:03 - 70:09
and be rightly guiding their people,
    their governments,
  • 70:09 - 70:14
their ministers, their armies, their nations,
  • 70:14 - 70:20
to a greater solution to these challenging times.
  • 70:20 - 70:29
    To show, as an example,
places like Portugal and other countries,
  • 70:29 - 70:35
who are really setting great examples at this time
    of how we should be,
  • 70:35 - 70:37
how we should be with our families,
  • 70:37 - 70:40
how we should be with our neighbours,
  • 70:40 - 70:45
how we should be with ourselves.
    And setting a good example.
  • 70:45 - 70:47
They are not going out to set examples!
  • 70:47 - 70:53
    But they cannot help it,
    because of their compassion,
  • 70:53 - 70:56
    their humanity, their love.
  • 70:56 - 71:01
    So many wonderful things
    are happening in the world.
  • 71:01 - 71:05
I wish goodness for this world.
I wish you a happy life,
  • 71:05 - 71:09
a life of prosperity in the spirit,
  • 71:09 - 71:12
prosperity in the body as well, why not?
  • 71:12 - 71:14
    And good will towards everybody.
  • 71:14 - 71:16
    Bless you. Bless you.
  • 71:16 - 71:20
Have a wonderful day, wherever you are.
    God bless you.
