What Does It Mean To Be Egoless?

  • 0:02 - 0:04
    Walk with Mooji Baba
  • 0:04 - 0:08
[Mooji] Very good question you gave me
    this morning,
  • 0:08 - 0:10
what it means to be egoless?
  • 0:10 - 0:12
What Does It Mean to Be Egoless?
    03-01-2018
  • 0:12 - 0:16
[Mooji] It means life, like True life.
  • 0:18 - 0:22
[Mooji] You are not dominated by feelings,
  • 0:22 - 0:31
that your life is not in service
    to your personhood.
  • 0:31 - 0:35
Meaning, that for most human beings
  • 0:35 - 0:38
our life is primarily in service to our person,
  • 0:38 - 0:42
like how we are doing, 'I am not well',
    'I need this',
  • 0:42 - 0:46
'I don't have any ...' It is all about us, us, us.
  • 0:46 - 0:53
And that is such a ...
  • 0:53 - 0:59
Our lives should be for service.
  • 0:59 - 1:08
It is like, one life in service,
not to itself really, but to life.
  • 1:08 - 1:11
You can make hundreds of people live the joy
  • 1:11 - 1:15
    and for many of them
you can do it with proper service.
  • 1:15 - 1:24
A life in service to yourself is kind of selfish
and we call it so wasteful.
  • 1:24 - 1:31
So much power is in you
and that power is not for your person.
  • 1:31 - 1:35
    So to be egoless,
  • 1:35 - 1:40
when the person wants to be egoless
  • 1:40 - 1:43
it is very difficult if the person remains,
  • 1:43 - 1:47
it's trying to be good and it is OK,
it is also a very wide path.
  • 1:47 - 1:51
Most people are told when they read a scripture,
    'Love one another',
  • 1:51 - 1:55
and 'Do good to those who do bad things to you'
    and stuff like this.
  • 1:55 - 1:59
And people try to be as loving and kind
as they can be and it is good,
  • 1:59 - 2:04
    it produces really good results,
but something is artificial about it.
  • 2:04 - 2:07
You are doing it because you are told
    you should be good,
  • 2:07 - 2:10
we are looking for merits because of it.
  • 2:10 - 2:12
'If I do what is good, I get something',
  • 2:12 - 2:16
so it is still for ourselves, in a sense.
  • 2:16 - 2:20
But when you wake up to the Truth
    that you are the Self,
  • 2:20 - 2:25
the Self cares for everything, for everyone.
  • 2:25 - 2:28
It is different somehow, life is much lighter,
  • 2:28 - 2:32
your sense of personal problems just vanish,
  • 2:32 - 2:35
like there are no personal problems,
  • 2:35 - 2:38
actually there is no person to have problems.
  • 2:38 - 2:40
    Things come up in life,
    maybe someone can say,
  • 2:40 - 2:43
'I don't like you' and it's going to be felt
  • 2:43 - 2:48
and if they had a lot of poison
    inside that feeling, the utterance,
  • 2:48 - 2:52
    you may feel that sadness,
but it will never overwhelm you.
  • 2:52 - 2:55
You are even able to do the right thing,
  • 2:55 - 3:00
which is to say, 'God bless you'.
  • 3:00 - 3:02
Sometimes you may not say it in front of them,
  • 3:02 - 3:08
    because it might upset them
but in your heart you accept.
  • 3:08 - 3:11
And you take out the poison out of your self,
  • 3:11 - 3:14
because the ego is the poison
inside the life of a human being.
  • 3:14 - 3:17
It just makes things bad, it is always selfish,
  • 3:17 - 3:20
it is always drawing energy to itself all the time,
  • 3:20 - 3:23
it always needs to be right, all of these things.
  • 3:23 - 3:27
    It is very poisonous,
but sometimes not knowing another way
  • 3:27 - 3:30
it feels like, 'That is just how I am'.
  • 3:30 - 3:33
As you begin to wake up
  • 3:33 - 3:38
to the deeper space of Truth
    behind the kind of person
  • 3:38 - 3:45
    and this is where Self-inquiry,
or invitation brings you out of that,
  • 3:45 - 3:47
lifts you out of that space
  • 3:47 - 3:52
    and into the space behind
where there is a feel of pure intelligence,
  • 3:52 - 3:58
    more light, more spacious,
you already start to feel happy and light.
  • 3:58 - 4:00
And in your happiness and your light,
  • 4:00 - 4:04
you naturally want to do what feels good.
  • 4:04 - 4:09
    It's like what feels good
    comes naturally inside your heart.
  • 4:09 - 4:14
And selfishness feels like a poison that leaves you,
  • 4:14 - 4:18
so you are not thinking so much in terms of that.
  • 4:18 - 4:24
When you find something that makes you happy
    you want to share it,
  • 4:24 - 4:27
it is possible to make other people happy.
  • 4:27 - 4:29
You go through a door into a space,
  • 4:29 - 4:33
you want to let as many people come through
    as possible.
  • 4:33 - 4:35
    So, egoless is like this.
  • 4:35 - 4:39
The more it is dropping away
  • 4:39 - 4:46
    this heavy cloak of ego,
of I, me, me, me I, me, my, mine,
  • 4:46 - 4:49
I have so much more greater space.
  • 4:49 - 4:53
That is why I say, Come into the God-field.
    God-field has no jealousy.
  • 4:53 - 5:00
All this kind of stuff goes, selfishness,
    heavy cravings.
  • 5:00 - 5:07
You are in a field and it naturally cares
  • 5:07 - 5:10
and every thing gets picked up in it.
  • 5:10 - 5:13
It takes care of every aspect of your life
  • 5:13 - 5:17
and the lives of those you love,
  • 5:17 - 5:22
then where you love doesn't stop,
it keeps expanding more and more.
  • 5:22 - 5:25
So, that's what it is to be without ego.
  • 5:25 - 5:29
It is the most powerful thing in the whole world.
  • 5:29 - 5:32
Ego is the darkest force in the world.
  • 5:32 - 5:37
Freedom from ego is the most light
and beautiful force in the world
  • 5:37 - 5:41
and that for me is the challenge of living
    as a human being
  • 5:41 - 5:46
is to transcend the egoic identity.
  • 5:46 - 5:54
But it seems very rare in our world,
  • 5:54 - 5:57
because so much is put on the person,
  • 5:57 - 6:02
it is like our first love and we love that first.
  • 6:02 - 6:05
Your mental love, the Self, but not the person,
  • 6:05 - 6:08
the self first is what we tend to love,
    Self is last.
  • 6:08 - 6:12
It is like that that we first grow up
    with a strong identity
  • 6:12 - 6:15
and all me, me, me, but we are never happy.
  • 6:15 - 6:19
We need so many things, we need money,
    we need friendship,
  • 6:19 - 6:23
    we need partners,
we need nice things in order to be happy,
  • 6:23 - 6:26
but someone who is free of ego
    tends to be happy anyway.
  • 6:26 - 6:30
Where ever we put them they are happy,
    they are not competitive,
  • 6:30 - 6:33
they are very broad in their dealings,
  • 6:33 - 6:38
they always think for the feelings of others.
  • 6:38 - 6:42
Very beautiful and my wish and prayer is that
  • 6:42 - 6:49
    it just becomes contagious again
just to be happy, that beings just enjoy.
  • 6:49 - 6:52
When we have group actions some people learn to see
  • 6:52 - 6:56
    that they can work together
    and produce something beautiful
  • 6:56 - 7:00
and they love the climate when in Monte Sahaja now,
  • 7:00 - 7:03
so the vibrations have become so much higher
  • 7:03 - 7:06
so that the feeling of love is easy.
  • 7:06 - 7:08
People are not pretending to love,
  • 7:08 - 7:11
    it's genuinely feeling the vibration.
  • 7:11 - 7:13
    Where does vibration come from?
  • 7:13 - 7:18
We came here and it is a special land,
    the trees are giving vibration.
  • 7:18 - 7:24
No, we are bringing the vibration, the living self,
  • 7:24 - 7:29
    by our actions, thoughts, meditation,
    understanding, veneration,
  • 7:29 - 7:36
the understanding and the attraction to God,
    or to pure consciousness.
  • 7:36 - 7:40
All of this is lifting the vibration,
    so it becomes powerful.
  • 7:40 - 7:42
Even people who don't know these things
  • 7:42 - 7:46
when they come they feel something,
'I feel good here. I like being here.'
  • 7:46 - 7:49
    What are they responding to?
    They are responding to something,
  • 7:49 - 7:51
    the vibration of the place.
  • 7:51 - 7:56
They probably don't know the philosophy,
    it's not even important.
  • 7:56 - 8:00
It is the activity of the philosophy,
  • 8:00 - 8:05
it is the power of the guidance accepted.
  • 8:05 - 8:08
There is no power in the guidance
    if it is not accepted.
  • 8:08 - 8:12
When it is accepted then it wakes up
    and it starts to move.
  • 8:12 - 8:15
And then everything, the trees start to pick it up,
  • 8:15 - 8:18
the earth picks it up, everything picks it up.
  • 8:18 - 8:24
That is why some places you go
you can feel the vibration of the place
  • 8:24 - 8:28
even though that person is not there any more.
  • 8:28 - 8:31
I have been to places like that, in India.
  • 8:31 - 8:35
Even in Jamaica in Bob Marley's house
    I felt this vibration actually,
  • 8:35 - 8:39
    I went to his room
where his slippers is by his bed,
  • 8:39 - 8:44
    I wasn't expecting anything,
the feeling was so powerful of love.
  • 8:44 - 8:46
    It was so wonderful.
  • 8:46 - 8:49
    Indira Gandhi's place
and different places I have been,
  • 8:49 - 8:54
    'Whoa' not so many,
but quite a few you can feel this vibration.
  • 8:54 - 8:58
And it lives in the walls, it's even in the bricks,
  • 8:58 - 9:01
    the whole vibration, everything.
  • 9:01 - 9:06
You go inside, you feel there was some happiness
    in this house
  • 9:06 - 9:09
and it lives even though the people
    have left their bodies,
  • 9:09 - 9:14
    the happiness in there somehow.
    It's an amazing thing!
  • 9:14 - 9:18
Sometimes, a darkness you can feel
    in the house also,
  • 9:18 - 9:22
these are the strong energies of attraction,
  • 9:22 - 9:28
of desire, fear, love, these are powerful forces
    in the human kingdom
  • 9:28 - 9:36
and they somehow affect even the earth,
    it leaves the vibration.
  • 9:36 - 9:40
So, sometimes people go to the forest,
    they love being in nature,
  • 9:40 - 9:44
because it is not polluted by human darkness.
  • 9:44 - 9:47
So they feel a bit like this, it is empty,
  • 9:47 - 9:52
it moves more into like tree consciousness
    and earth consciousness.
  • 9:52 - 9:55
When you come to a place where consciousness
  • 9:55 - 9:59
    has manifested the human form,
because it is so much more rich,
  • 9:59 - 10:01
    more diverse in it's expression.
  • 10:01 - 10:04
If it is pervaded by and imbued by consciousness,
  • 10:04 - 10:07
    'uff!' it is so powerful!
  • 10:07 - 10:21
This is why I say, that it was
just two thousand one hundred years ago
  • 10:21 - 10:24
Jesus was here physically on earth
  • 10:24 - 10:28
and just through one human being
  • 10:28 - 10:36
who was embodiment of the God consciousness
  • 10:36 - 10:40
and even after leaving his body
two thousand one hundred years ago
  • 10:40 - 10:43
people are still becoming followers of Christ,
  • 10:43 - 10:46
or followers of the Buddha, or followers of Krishna.
  • 10:46 - 10:51
It is five thousand years ago, of Rama,
    many, many thousand years ago.
  • 10:51 - 10:56
Why? Because the vibration is there
    when they hold that.
  • 10:56 - 11:01
So, it is a very powerful thing!
  • 11:01 - 11:06
    When I used to say,
that one human being forgot about themself
  • 11:06 - 11:10
and since then the whole world cannot forget them.
  • 11:10 - 11:13
That is a very powerful thing!
  • 11:13 - 11:15
    By forgetting themself,
  • 11:15 - 11:20
    meaning to override the ego,
to say, 'Don't listen to him'.
  • 11:20 - 11:27
They transcended that and their influence,
    their presence, their words
  • 11:27 - 11:31
impacted the lives of millions of beings.
  • 11:31 - 11:34
    So, they are examples
and each of these human being
  • 11:34 - 11:38
are exactly the same kind of blood type like us,
  • 11:38 - 11:42
looks at the same moon, the same stars
and the same sun just like us,
  • 11:42 - 11:48
they had appetites, they got tired,
    they sometimes didn't sleep,
  • 11:48 - 11:51
    they had friendships,
they had people who hated them,
  • 11:51 - 11:57
but they still were glowing in the spirit of Truth
    and the spirit of God.
  • 11:57 - 12:02
So, that for me is the fulfilment of a human life,
  • 12:02 - 12:06
to wake up into the Truth of what you really are
  • 12:06 - 12:09
and that is what God is,
  • 12:09 - 12:13
that you are inside the God kingdom
    inside your heart.
  • 12:13 - 12:15
    That is what it is.
  • 12:15 - 12:20
    A human being that follows
scriptures on the surface, it is not enough.
  • 12:20 - 12:22
    Their life will change,
  • 12:22 - 12:26
it will impact on the lives of other people,
    but in a soft way.
  • 12:26 - 12:32
The one who abandons their ego
  • 12:32 - 12:36
and plunges fully into the God ocean,
    this one rises up
  • 12:36 - 12:40
and becomes a guide in the world,
    even if they don't speak.
  • 12:40 - 12:44
    Some beings don't speak,
but their presence is so powerful,
  • 12:44 - 12:50
because it is so much inherent in their being,
    this presence of God
  • 12:50 - 12:54
that people in their presence are transformed.
  • 12:54 - 12:58
So for me, that is what it means to be without ego,
  • 12:58 - 13:01
it is the most powerful thing in the world!
  • 13:01 - 13:03
If I were to meet two people,
  • 13:03 - 13:08
one who has been to Venus
and lived there for six months
  • 13:08 - 13:11
and one who has lived in a cardboard box
    for six months
  • 13:11 - 13:14
    in meditation and God
and who has awakened to something,
  • 13:14 - 13:16
I would go there any time and be with him.
  • 13:16 - 13:20
I don't need to speak to an astronaut,
  • 13:20 - 13:23
because they could be equally full of ego.
  • 13:23 - 13:27
But the one who has transcended ego
    inside them self,
  • 13:27 - 13:32
that would be my happy date.
  • 13:32 - 13:35
I would rather go sit there just to be with this,
  • 13:35 - 13:40
to be in that field of beings who love God,
  • 13:40 - 13:43
or were searching for Truth, that is holy company.
  • 13:43 - 13:49
Just to be in the holy company of seekers of Truth
    is called auspicious.
  • 13:49 - 13:55
So, I feel that we are in the right place,
  • 13:55 - 14:00
    that more and more beings
    are finding True happiness,
  • 14:00 - 14:04
    not a trip,
'Oh, we are going to conquer the world!' No.
  • 14:04 - 14:10
Just finding one by one is enough in that light,
  • 14:10 - 14:13
moving in the world is something,
  • 14:13 - 14:17
because I don't think the world needs
    more books about spirituality.
  • 14:17 - 14:20
They need human beings who embody the Truth
  • 14:20 - 14:23
rather than books that write about the Truth.
  • 14:23 - 14:29
They want to see the living book,
they don't want to see a book of paper.
  • 14:29 - 14:32
They want to see a book on a human being like them
  • 14:32 - 14:36
    whose life challenges or confronts
  • 14:36 - 14:39
or reveals something inside them self
    that they can be
  • 14:39 - 14:42
by meeting someone of that calibre,
  • 14:42 - 14:47
their being cannot deny that it has met God.
  • 14:47 - 14:49
Many times we have heard of stories
  • 14:49 - 14:53
    where people have confessed themselves
    to be atheists.
  • 14:53 - 14:58
I have met a being who has that impact on them,
  • 14:58 - 15:01
that they know, 'Whoa, I don't know what this is,
  • 15:01 - 15:08
but it is causing all these changes
    inside my heart',
  • 15:08 - 15:13
because they cannot be a true atheist,
    it is just a strangeness.
  • 15:13 - 15:16
It just means the depth of ignorance,
  • 15:16 - 15:20
    that you don't acknowledge
that there is a Supreme power that controls
  • 15:20 - 15:24
and the term is the order of the universe
    and cares for things.
  • 15:24 - 15:26
It is not human being who is doing it,
  • 15:26 - 15:30
it is not a human being allowing these trees to grow
  • 15:30 - 15:32
and sending rain and the change of weather
  • 15:32 - 15:35
and to take care of all the different planets,
  • 15:35 - 15:41
even one solar system, but all the solar systems ...
  • 15:41 - 15:44
I cannot even begin to talk about it.
    It makes you feel weak.
  • 15:44 - 15:49
    You can't grasp the magnificence
and the might of the Supreme being.
  • 15:49 - 15:53
The Being is not separate like an entity
    doing the things,
  • 15:53 - 16:00
it is inside the things itself.
    It is like a ...
  • 16:00 - 16:03
God cannot be just a form,
  • 16:03 - 16:07
or God is embodied in all forms and beyond them.
  • 16:07 - 16:09
    The forms are constantly changing,
  • 16:09 - 16:13
because it gives them the portion of time
    and growth
  • 16:13 - 16:22
    and anything that is growing
    must be transformative, changefull.
  • 16:22 - 16:28
    But the God-Self is unchanging
    and yet manifesting change
  • 16:28 - 16:33
and taking care of all the different permutations
    of it's expression.
  • 16:33 - 16:40
Sometimes just try and portray it
as a kind of field of energy,
  • 16:40 - 16:43
    but not just energy,
it is an intelligence and a spirit
  • 16:43 - 16:52
that this is the visible expression
and appearing out of it's ...
  • 16:52 - 16:54
    It gives many clues,
  • 16:54 - 16:58
that's if you look and see someones hair
    on their head,
  • 16:58 - 17:00
it keeps coming out from what?
  • 17:00 - 17:03
If you look inside the head there's no hair,
  • 17:03 - 17:06
it keeps coming out, but nothings there,
    just growing,
  • 17:06 - 17:10
shows you that out of emptiness
    I create all these things
  • 17:10 - 17:14
and sustain them and bring them back to emptiness.
  • 17:14 - 17:19
It is too magnificent to talk about it!
  • 17:19 - 17:26
    Some beings just get overwhelmed
at just the majesty of that power.
  • 17:26 - 17:33
So that power is the source
of your own sense of Self.
  • 17:33 - 17:37
To know this and even if you don't understand it,
  • 17:37 - 17:39
that should set your life on fire already,
  • 17:39 - 17:42
you should have to go and sit down.
  • 17:42 - 17:45
And there is no end to our gratitude of knowing
  • 17:45 - 17:47
that your life is sourced in God.
  • 17:47 - 17:54
For someone who doesn't really comprehend that,
  • 17:54 - 17:56
also that is designated by the power
  • 17:56 - 18:00
    that there will be beings
who do not feel that for a while
  • 18:00 - 18:03
and eventually they must wake up
    to that in them self.
  • 18:03 - 18:07
So, an auspicious life for me
is life that moves away from the evil
  • 18:07 - 18:10
which creates a blindness inside the being
  • 18:10 - 18:16
and makes us just be concerned
    about earthly things,
  • 18:16 - 18:20
as opposed to the one who is aware
  • 18:20 - 18:24
    and living in that awareness
and then living as that awareness.
  • 18:24 - 18:29
If you come to live as awareness
you are already in the kingdom,
  • 18:29 - 18:31
you are already in that space.
  • 18:31 - 18:36
It is even, I would say, Greater than Heaven,
  • 18:36 - 18:39
if I can say something like that.
  • 18:39 - 18:43
    Because when that feeling came,
I just thought, Is that blasphemous?
  • 18:43 - 18:48
I felt, if heaven is of images and objects
    and so on,
  • 18:48 - 18:51
then they are also in a kind of time.
  • 18:51 - 18:56
    Maybe, one of God days
could be a thousand human years.
  • 18:56 - 18:59
Who knows. But whatever it is, it has to be changed.
  • 18:59 - 19:03
If there are different levels of beings,
  • 19:03 - 19:06
    then of course,
there is still the process of evolving
  • 19:06 - 19:09
    and growing is still there.
  • 19:09 - 19:14
    But in the pure Awareness
    it's not concerned about growth,
  • 19:14 - 19:19
it is so perfect, so perfect,
but it is so unappealing to the mind,
  • 19:19 - 19:23
because the mind is always concerned
    about things and objects
  • 19:23 - 19:28
and having and losing and getting
    and changing and growing
  • 19:28 - 19:31
and becoming and losing, it is all of that.
  • 19:31 - 19:37
    Whereas in Awareness,
it is transcendental to such concepts.
  • 19:37 - 19:43
This is what I am trying, when I say to everyone,
    Leave this now.
  • 19:43 - 19:48
    Leave this now.
Leave the concern for your identity.
  • 19:48 - 19:50
Leave all of this. Who am I speaking to?
  • 19:50 - 19:54
To the intelligence that doesn't hear this enough.
  • 19:54 - 19:57
Only hears this command that comes from the heart
  • 19:57 - 20:01
is it able to drop everything
and then be in the Oneness,
  • 20:01 - 20:03
in the experience of it's own Oneness.
  • 20:03 - 20:09
And then it is not really
people in the hall in satsang,
  • 20:09 - 20:13
in the meditation it is like this,
    the guidance is like this,
  • 20:13 - 20:16
then the disturbance is not there.
  • 20:16 - 20:20
It is like you are in a transcendental plane.
  • 20:20 - 20:24
Selfishness and all this kind of stuff,
    it all thins away
  • 20:24 - 20:34
and it is as though you are floating
in a lighter dimension of Being.
  • 20:34 - 20:38
So, it is very tangible actually that we feel it,
  • 20:38 - 20:41
that we have the capacity to experience it.
  • 20:41 - 20:44
In the beginning, for many people there mind comes.
  • 20:44 - 20:48
    Sometimes people come here,
they are not used to this tough environment,
  • 20:48 - 20:51
you see how much their mind is troubling them.
  • 20:51 - 20:55
    It appears as though
the place and the people are troubling them,
  • 20:55 - 20:58
but it's their own mind that is troubling them.
  • 20:58 - 21:01
    It feels uncomfortable,
    because it feels challenged.
  • 21:01 - 21:04
What are these people so happy about?
  • 21:04 - 21:07
'I don't even trust them. Tthey are pretending',
  • 21:07 - 21:09
it goes into overdrive on this,
  • 21:09 - 21:15
    cynicism, judgements, discomfort,
    all these things come up,
  • 21:15 - 21:20
but they are just the birth pains
    to reach a higher state.
  • 21:20 - 21:23
If they persist and often they don't,
  • 21:23 - 21:26
they go away, but something is inside
  • 21:26 - 21:32
and that seed begins to grow inside them,
    because God brought them here.
  • 21:32 - 21:36
Even if they feel, 'I didn't want to come here.
    My wife came here',
  • 21:36 - 21:39
it's still the force that caused them to come here,
  • 21:39 - 21:41
to experience the disturbance that's in them,
  • 21:41 - 21:44
    but they don't recognise
    that it's coming from them.
  • 21:44 - 21:46
They think it is coming from outside,
  • 21:46 - 21:51
but it is coming from a reaction
to the energy that they are experiencing
  • 21:51 - 21:53
that they're not yet compatible with it,
  • 21:53 - 21:57
because they are so much in the domain
    of egoic identity,
  • 21:57 - 22:01
    so that is shaking.
  • 22:01 - 22:07
So, it is a very good question
    you asked this morning,
  • 22:07 - 22:11
what it means to be egoless.
  • 22:11 - 22:16
It means life, like True life.
  • 22:16 - 22:20
When we think of Jesus, or Prophet Muhummad,
  • 22:20 - 22:30
or Krishna, or Buddha, it immediately,
    even people who are nobody,
  • 22:30 - 22:35
    they know it represents
    a higher level of consciousness,
  • 22:35 - 22:41
a level where love is the climate and peace.
  • 22:43 - 22:45
When we say 'I', the implication,
  • 22:45 - 22:49
the real meaning of 'I' is consciousness.
  • 22:49 - 22:54
But really, in the world when we say 'I',
    it means consciousness,
  • 22:54 - 22:57
    it's meaning individuality, means person,
  • 22:57 - 22:59
    meaning, I am a man, I am a woman,
  • 22:59 - 23:02
it is such a contracted, such a limitation.
  • 23:02 - 23:08
But 'I', even the one who is awake will say, 'I',
  • 23:08 - 23:12
    knowing that it is referring
    to a sense of individuality,
  • 23:12 - 23:20
    but underneath that 'I'
they are in an inner space of a deeper knowing,
  • 23:20 - 23:26
    a spiritual knowing that
    it is consciousness speaking
  • 23:26 - 23:32
    and not the person,
it is a different vibration altogether.
  • 23:32 - 23:37
When you are with someone and when they speak
    you experience spaciousness.
  • 23:37 - 23:41
That 'I' is the 'I' that comes from consciousness,
    that is consciousness.
  • 23:41 - 23:45
When you are speaking with someone
and you got to be careful what you say,
  • 23:45 - 23:48
that 'I' is loaded with the personhood
  • 23:48 - 23:53
and you can see the person, a world full of earth.
  • 23:53 - 24:00
Full of personhood is a very suffocating place,
    stifling.
  • 24:00 - 24:04
Even if there were only three million people
    on the earth,
  • 24:04 - 24:07
    probably smaller number,
  • 24:07 - 24:10
    but when you meet them
you would feel a bit suffocated.
  • 24:10 - 24:15
But one human being who is awake to the Self,
  • 24:15 - 24:20
in a crowd of thousands shines and illumines,
  • 24:20 - 24:26
    raises the level of consciousness
    in people who recognise it,
  • 24:26 - 24:29
because something is us can recognise
  • 24:29 - 24:34
that you are standing in a higher Presence,
    that's what happens here.
  • 24:39 - 24:42
    Because even without being told
  • 24:42 - 24:46
    people start to behave differently
    to someone who is awake.
  • 24:46 - 24:49
They can't help it, without knowing consciously,
  • 24:49 - 24:53
'Oh, that person is some ...'
    They behave differently.
  • 24:53 - 24:55
They may start in the beginning
  • 24:55 - 24:59
by just treating like, 'This regular thing',
  • 24:59 - 25:06
    but gradually the Presence
    begins to sort of percolate
  • 25:06 - 25:10
and to move more deeply inside you
    and it changes them.
  • 25:10 - 25:14
    Their climate starts to change,
they starts to feel more kind, more open,
  • 25:14 - 25:16
they want to do things for you,
  • 25:16 - 25:20
that's without knowing anything about spirituality.
  • 25:20 - 25:28
It is commanded in the world
it's when one of the edicts of the Prophets,
  • 25:28 - 25:30
    when God created the world,
  • 25:30 - 25:38
that God commanded the whole world,
    'Serve those who serve me'.
  • 25:38 - 25:42
Meaning, those who are searching for Truth
    serve them
  • 25:42 - 25:47
and 'Make weary and tired those who serve you'.
  • 25:47 - 25:50
Understand? It is a powerful thing.
  • 25:50 - 25:52
    'Serve those who serve me'.
  • 25:52 - 25:57
Meaning, serve those, take care of them,
    who honour God and Truth.
  • 25:57 - 26:02
'Make tired those who serve you'.
Who serve the world make them tired.
  • 26:02 - 26:05
Is that a curse? No, it is a blessing also,
  • 26:05 - 26:10
because when you get tired of your own rubbish
    then maybe there is space
  • 26:10 - 26:13
to say, 'I got to try something different'.
  • 26:13 - 26:15
It says, 'Make weary those who serve you',
  • 26:15 - 26:17
because there services is in vain.
  • 26:17 - 26:22
It's like serving matter and not spirit.
  • 26:22 - 26:24
    So it is beautiful.
  • 26:24 - 26:29
It is written inside the heart,
in the DNA of every living being,
  • 26:29 - 26:31
    not just human beings,
  • 26:31 - 26:35
but in the presence of one who venerates the Truth.
  • 26:35 - 26:39
Something in them will honour them,
    it will respond to them,
  • 26:39 - 26:42
it may at first even want to get rid of them,
  • 26:42 - 26:49
but it cannot deny that their presence
has an impact upon the existence.
  • 26:49 - 26:55
That is the power of the Holy Spirit
and the spirit of Truth in each one.
  • 26:55 - 27:00
I say, this place has to shine in that.
  • 27:00 - 27:03
It has to as long as I am here.
  • 27:03 - 27:08
It has to be that our focus is on cutting the ego
  • 27:08 - 27:12
and not just cutting, cutting ego,
    but living in the Truth.
  • 27:12 - 27:15
    Because if your life
is only trying to cut, cut, cut ego,
  • 27:15 - 27:17
maybe you don't even taste the full joy,
  • 27:17 - 27:19
you are too busy trying to cut ego.
  • 27:19 - 27:24
But I say, I am showing you the Truth also,
    in the meantime.
  • 27:24 - 27:28
So as you are trying to cut ego you find the Truth,
  • 27:28 - 27:31
    you put down the cutter
and just rejoice in the Truth
  • 27:31 - 27:36
and let Truth cut the ego. [laughter]
    Isn't it beautiful.
  • 27:36 - 27:42
    Let Truth cut the ego.
Why your hands have to cut the ego?
  • 27:42 - 27:44
[Friend] That's what the invitation is.
  • 27:44 - 27:47
[Mooji] That's what the invitation does.
  • 27:47 - 27:51
The invitation takes all the dirty work,
the grim and stuff out of it
  • 27:51 - 27:55
and brings you into the lap of God.
  • 27:55 - 27:59
    [Friends] Yeah! [laughter]
  • 27:59 - 28:02
[Mooji] For this my heart is so happy,
  • 28:02 - 28:08
because sometimes when you see the beings
    and they are ...
  • 28:08 - 28:12
If somebody comes, 'I am so thirsty,
can I have a glass of water?'
  • 28:12 - 28:14
We give them a glass of water.
  • 28:14 - 28:18
    If somebody falls down,
we say 'Oh! Come, let's get up.'
  • 28:18 - 28:21
Even though your back is hurting
    you help them up,
  • 28:21 - 28:25
'How are you feeling? Better? Come sit down.'
    You help them.
  • 28:25 - 28:27
Somebody is hungry, 'Please have this'.
  • 28:27 - 28:32
You give them something to eat.
  • 28:32 - 28:35
Whatever you can do, you help.
  • 28:35 - 28:38
If they are sick, what are you going to do?
  • 28:38 - 28:41
Something must be in you to help them.
  • 28:41 - 28:45
    Whether it is prayer,
you start to learn to bless people,
  • 28:45 - 28:48
even if it doesn't work you still keep doing it.
  • 28:48 - 28:51
My intention is to bless their life, to give them,
  • 28:51 - 28:54
not that their life becomes like mine.
  • 28:54 - 28:57
Just bless their life that whatever it needs
    to remove the obstacles,
  • 28:57 - 29:01
to remove whatever it is that is contaminating,
    or creating,
  • 29:01 - 29:07
disfiguring the spontaneity of their life,
  • 29:07 - 29:11
to banish that by the power of God,
    you bless them.
  • 29:11 - 29:15
And with this also people are soul searching
    for the Truth,
  • 29:15 - 29:18
they can't find it, it's so difficult.
I say, You read the invitation.
  • 29:18 - 29:25
Listen to this. Just listen to it.
  • 29:25 - 29:28
And that is the big help they can get.
  • 29:28 - 29:31
    They say, 'Oh my God,
I was getting ready to do all this gymnastics
  • 29:31 - 29:35
to try and get over these things,
    you make this so easy.
  • 29:35 - 29:39
    Same things became so easy.
I didn't have to go through my mind,
  • 29:39 - 29:46
I didn't have to go into this dark place of myself.
  • 29:46 - 29:49
I came to a light place in myself.'
  • 29:49 - 29:52
    Isn't that a wonderful thing?
  • 29:52 - 29:55
    Why everybody have to suffer
    blood, sweat and tears?
  • 29:55 - 30:01
    They can't do it,
because human beings are getting weaker,
  • 30:01 - 30:04
they want everything to be done by machines.
  • 30:04 - 30:08
We don't want to even work on ourselves.
  • 30:08 - 30:11
Yes, if it is to build your ego we will do it,
  • 30:11 - 30:15
we will lift everything, weights 'uugh!'
    to build up ego,
  • 30:15 - 30:19
but to change, to transform your heart
  • 30:19 - 30:24
from a suffering place into an abode of peace,
  • 30:24 - 30:29
    'I can't get into that,'
because they feel it doesn't show.
  • 30:29 - 30:34
So perhaps, this is why maybe,
    grace brought invitation now,
  • 30:34 - 30:37
to say, 'But you have to also come in.
  • 30:37 - 30:41
    You think you are happy,
    but that's not real happiness,'
  • 30:41 - 30:43
    and trying to get them.
  • 30:43 - 30:46
I feel this must be, because why for me it didn't.
  • 30:46 - 30:49
For me, invitation is the easiest thing.
  • 30:49 - 30:52
It's like someone is holding your hand
and walking you through the garden,
  • 30:52 - 30:55
'Come, lets go to this park'.
    'I want to meet Jesus'.
  • 30:55 - 30:57
'Come with me, I will show you right here.
  • 30:57 - 31:01
Just a minute. Walk through here inside.'
  • 31:01 - 31:04
'I was going to go to Jerusalem.
I was going to go to Galilee.'
  • 31:04 - 31:13
    'He is right here. Come.
I will walk you through the door.' [laughter]
  • 31:13 - 31:16
    [Friend] Thank you.
[Friend} I want to meet Him.
