Translation & Subtitles: thoseguiltyeyes | scandal-heaven.com Hello! RINA here. I went and got some Starbucks. Today, I got a Caramel Macchiato. I'll be drinking it as I film this. What should I do? It's really good. I decided today to do a video of me talking about something and turned on the camera... I'll just be speaking leisurely about whatever. What should I talk about? Maybe just small talk. Oh yeah, As of today, I've been on YouTube for a month! Yay! It went by so fast. This is my fifth video. I've surprisingly been able to release one video per week. I wasn't sure what pace to go with, But since I'm spending a lot of time at home right now, I think I'll keep being able to upload them up at a good pace. I wonder what your days have been like recently. The city's going back to normal little by little, There have been people who have continued to work hard all this time, And I'm sure there are people who work outside who are finally going back. How has that been? For the band, we've been meeting at our office once every two weeks With the bare minimum number of staff members And recording our radio program. We also hold meetings then. We're not able to play live shows, But we're doing what we can at home. Recently, a fellow classmate who went to the same all-girls' school in Osaka as me a long time ago, And whom I was good friends with, contacted me. That doesn't happen with me often. It's not often that someone who I haven't spoken to in a long time contacts me. She's also playing music and living in Tokyo. We met up for the first time in a long time And talked at a cafe for around two hours. We talked about a lot of things like what we did after graduating high school, And what we're currently doing. It's nice to do what you love doing. During times like these is when I think of how my stances on how to think, live, and work have changed considerably. I've noticed that my thoughts get organized when I talk with friends. We had our major label debut, and since I'm a drummer, Drums are the focus of my job. However, I would like to do all kinds of things. I want to do what I want to at the time, And try doing things that I can do in my own way. My stance on that has never changed. I've always wanted to play music in Tokyo, So I thought it was a given that I'd forever continue living in Tokyo, But I remembered that that's not something set in stone. Well, I currently have no plans at all to move, But my friend lived in Los Angeles for several months, And she doesn't know where she'll be living in the future. She said that she'll decide when the time comes. I thought that having all that freedom was really wonderful. You don't need to stay in one place just because you have stability. Currently, aside from our band activities, The four of us produce an apparel brand called "FEEDBACK," And I recently started my YouTube channel. I made a zine for my first YouTube video. In the past I put out a book that summarizes my lifestyle. I've done all sorts of things. At first there weren't many musicians doing a lot of different things compared to now. I started doing a lot of crazy things. I've done things that surprised people. The people who like our music, I think it used to be that many people couldn't accept when we did things other than music. I understand why they felt that. They want musicians to just concentrate on music. I understood why they wanted that, And that it's inevitable that there will be people like that. But as we continue to carefully try out all sorts of things, There are people who say it's fun to see us do that. Our apparel brand FEEDBACK has a physical store in Shibuya. I'll put in the address. Tokyo, Shibuya-ku, Jinnan 1-3-1 There are times when people wander in And ask the staff who makes the clothes, And that's how they find out about us, the band SCANDAL. It's really interesting how, although rare, something like this links to music. It's fun to connect everything together like this. I really do like doing my job and my favorite things in that way. I think it would be great to be able to think more freely about all kinds of things in an unconventional way. I wonder what will happen in the future. I don't even know what I'll do, So I hope I'll always be excited about being in this profession. (Thinking...) Thinking about that and talking with people made me realize that. I think this has also been a period when I could think things over because I have so much free time. How do I sum it up... I think editing this video will be tough to do... (My inner thoughts slipped out.) I'm of course a musician, but I want to be a person who can make statements while doing all sorts of things. I also really like the sense of the people who support us and the way they view things and receive them. There are many people who feel and think things the way we intend them to be accepted. I'm so happy our fans are that people who we have good relations with, And with whom we can communicate with each other through the screen. This video turned out to be one of me talking a lot by myself. I hope that's okay. I changed up my makeup a bit today. I usually go with brown for my eyeliner and mascara, (So close to the camera...) But this time I went with black. I tried to go a little more bold. (It's raining...) Phew (taking a breath) I'd love to hurry up and shoot outside for my YouTube videos. This was like a really long monologue. Would you call this a narrative video? I often see these kinds of videos on YouTube where it's just people talking to the camera. If there are a lot of people who found this enjoyable, I might make it into a series. If there's a demand for it. I didn't think YouTube would make me feel this safe. I'm so happy about that. I'm so glad I started this channel. I'm sure there are many students among the people who watch my videos, And I want for them to try out and experience all kinds of things. I too will do my best. Let's do our best together. I don't know how to sum up today's video. It was embarrassing speaking by myself. I really hope we play a show soon. I hope to be able to send out my own image and voice in all kinds of ways while we're not able to play shows. Thanks so much for watching until the end! Please like the video, subscribe to my channel, and leave a comment! This was so embarrassing!
