Let's take a look at Piazza.

This discussion forum is seen
by students and instructors alike,

which makes it a great tool for
sharing information and asking

questions that other students
can benefit from.

Looking at the home page, you'll
see a list of all posts on the left.

In the middle you'll see your
class at a glance, and can quickly

jump to certain posts with the shortcuts.

To ask a new question, click "New Post".

Select the post type, under "Post To",
make sure "Entire Class" is selected.

As instructors will not respond to
personal messages from Piazza.

Next, select the folders or topics
that this question will apply to
-
by clicking on them.
-
Then, fill in the summary and
details.
-
Entering in specific details
will help ensure your
-
question is understood and
responded to quickly.

And then select "Post".
-
To help other students out,
select the post and type in
-
an answer.
-
Other students will be able
to quickly see that it's been
-
answered by a student with
the green "S" icon.

If an instructor responds,
you'll see the yellow "I" icon.
-
And if the instructor endorses
the student's response, you'll
-
see an orange check over
the green icon.

If you want to change your email
settings for Piazza, click on the
-
gear button in the top right
corner, and select
-
"Account Email Settings".

Under "Class and Email Settings",
select "Edit Email Notifications",

and then select the email notification
frequency you prefer, and click
-
"Save Settings".
