-
Hi, how you doing? Justin here!
Um, in this little video today,
-
I want to tell you about a cool new
product that I've discovered.
-
Um, and it's made by Sanyo,
-
who have never really been on my radar
for making cool guitar stuff.
-
But they've come out with
something that I think is really cool.
-
that I'm using all the time.
-
And, uh, you know people send me stuff
quite often to check out and
-
most of the time I don't end up using it
that much.
-
But this I'm using like al-
- like everyday.
-
Um. It's called the Pedal Juice
and it looks like this.
-
And it's about the size,
of a Boss pedal I guess,
-
and it's basically a big rechargeable battery
which is pretty useful for me actually.
-
I find in the studio all the time,
you know I'm not running
-
so much of a pedal board very much
these days.
-
I tend to just grab whatever pedals
are around, and rather than having
-
to muck around with a
power supply,
-
I can just grab this
and this will power two pedals like this.
-
But I've also stuck it on a daisy-train
and powered a few more pedals.
-
So I know it'll power like four or five.
Don't know if you're supposed to do
that or not.
-
Um, it powers up to two-thousand
milli-amps, which is quite a lot.
-
A lot of pedals like distortion pedals
I know do about ten, maybe fifteen.
-
And they say if you're using "low-ampage"
pedals- I guess that's what it's called-
-
Like, ones that only use like,
ten, fifteen, twenty.
-
You can get up to fifty hours
of charge out of this.
-
Now, I haven't run it out yet.
-
I've always charged it up again, because
-
just when I'm not using it I stick it
into the power chord.
-
But, it's such a convenient idea.
I really-
-
-I mean, I'm really serious.
-
I never really thought it would kinda
shake my world.
-
But I'm using it all the time,
you know.
-
When I'm shifting between here- My kinda-
the control room, my studio,
-
into the live room.
-
It's got some other cool things about it
too, which is
-
that it eliminates "ground hum".
-
Now, I'm in a pro studio here.
-
So we've got different kinds of power
circuits here.
-
But if you got your amp or
your fx pedals
-
on the same, uh, uh,
phase as your fridge,
-
or fluorescent lights,
-
you'll often get a kind of buzzing
-
through your amp when you use
-
a power supply for your pedals
if you don't use battery.
-
This gets rid of that.
-
Which is a really useful trick, you know.
-
Um, it means that you can leave your
pedals plugged into this thing all the time
-
and you've just got one power-on button.
-
It's only got one button, right?
So you press it on and the light goes green
-
Um it also gives you a warning.
The green light turns to orange
-
when it's getting on low power
and then to red when, you know,
-
when, you know, you gotta charge it.
-
I'm thinking like all the times when I
was out doing gigs and stuff
-
and you know, I had a small pedal board there,
-
and I had run a power
cable out from the back of the stage
-
out to the front to power my
wild pedal,
-
or whatever pedals I had on the ground
with me.
-
I think it's a really really cool
little idea.
-
And it came with the two nine volt
charging cable thingies.
-
A nice little bag to put it in!
-
Um, a phase reversal thing.
So, for-
- sometimes you get pedals
-
where the center pin is the
wrong way around.
-
I don't know why people do that.
-
Why don't pedal manufacturers
just sort it out?
-
Make them all the same.
Anyway,
-
um, they don't.
-
And, it comes with the little charger
unit for itself.
-
But if you're looking for a solution
for powering all your guitar fx pedals,
-
I really think this is a cool little kit.
-
Um, I have no Idea how much it costs!
-
Because I didn't buy it.
-
But I'm sure if you google it,
you'll find out pretty quickly
-
How much it costs and how much it's
selling for.
-
Um,I believe these guys are gonna be at all
the trade shows this year,
-
so you might wanna go and check that out.
-
But, uh, very cool little unit!
-
Let me give a quick uh, little close-up
-
before I can not trip over my guitar cable
here.
-
Here you go!
-
Look at that!
-
Here we go!
This is called the
-
"Sanyo Eneloop".
That's what is written on the top there.
-
There's the little- well these come out
of course
-
- That's your charger to charge the thing
inside.
-
Very cool little unit.
-
Flat bottom, so it's ready to be velcro-ed
up and stuck on your pedal board.
-
Um, I think you'll probably like it.
-
Well done Sanyo!
-
A company that doesn't normally do guitar
effects pedals
-
making an object that's really
really cool,
-
and really really useful.
I like that! You might too!
-
Go and check it out!
-
See you again, take care!
-
Bye-bye!
