  1. [Anais Nin]This is Anais Nin, and I'm reading from the volume 4 of the diaries.
  2. In June, 1945, I wrote a letter to a young poet
  3. who was preoccupied, was concerned, about how little he had to give me.
  4. I wrote to him: "I like to live always at the beginnings of life, not at their end.
  5. We all lose some of our faith under the oppression of mad leaders, insane history,
  6. pathologic cold days of daily life.
  7. I am by nature always beginning and believing
  8. and so I find your company more fruitful than those who assert their opinions, beliefs and knowledge
  9. as the ultimate verity.
  10. All the people fall into rigid patterns.
